Black Hand Gorge North Parking Lot

This is a fantastic trail. If you start on the right side entrance by the sign there will be a pretty big incline. I do like getting this incline out of the way first which is great to get your heart rate up and set a good pace for the rest of the trail. There are some side trails but if you are just making a loop it's almost 2 and 1/2 mi which we usually do in about 40 minutes.

I hiked the Marie Hickey trail and it was about 2 miles long. It had some views overlooking the gorge and a diverse forest! Also some sturdy little bridges.

Place is definitely worth stopping and exploring. Was some guys by the gorge with some guitars and singing. Tunnel was very cool.

Great trails for as far as you can go!

Took my kids here and they loved it! I brought along their scooters and we took to the paved trail. Got to see some wildlife an enjoyed the natural beauty of this place. Got a lot of good pictures as well. Would definitely go again as they’re already asking me to come back. Also from my observations, the place is really clean. It also has a bathroom on site at the beginning of the trail. There is a parking lot. An open space for kids to run near the trail entrance. Also once on the trail, there is other trails to explore. There is markers along the trail to tell you how far you have walked, ect and how far you have till the end of the trail. (If you took the paved trail) in all i would give it a 10 out of 10 for the size and beauty of the place. An the fact that it is kid friendly. But would also plan ahead and bring water and snacks for when you're finished. Also a good place to float or kayak down the river. Furthermore a cave to walk through and under railroad tracks. Lastly people do swim in the river too near the entrance under the bridge.

Always love the trails of this Park. Beauty on both sides of the Gorge.

Enjoyed the afternoon hiking with my daughter and grandson. Great place for a leisurely walk and getting in tune with nature.

Black Hand Gorge is a great place to bike. It is less than 5 miles long. It is forested hills on one side and the river on the other. We rode it round trip twice. Just a beautiful place to enjoy nature.

Absolutely love this place awesome views and lots of trails to explore on. Great day of fun anytime ya go.

Nice trail from this parking lot. If it's wet at all, some of this trail can be extremely muddy. Beware of strange people on this trail too. Walk in pairs. Bring mace.

Parking was free and most vehicles would fit inside the spaces. Very well planned.

Very spacious and a great place to eat your lunch from your cooler.

Beautiful, absolutely worth visiting... Over and over and over again.

There is a waterfall if you look hard enough.
