River Road Coffeehouse - On the Square

WOW!!! This place is incredible .. stopped in last week on way to Don Edwards park for a baseball game... I will for sure be back!! Coffee and sandwich were both amongst the best ever!

I absolutely love this place. It was my husband and my weekly go to for three and a half years until we had to move to Columbus. The girls there are amazing. A few of them even remembered that I had some health issues and always made sure I remembered dairy free and decaf with my order and one of them always asked if I needed extra sugar for my blood sugar as I forget to ask for it sometimes. very thoughtful. They would have my husband's order (he gets the same thing every time) ready before we even finish ordering as long as they weren't super busy. They are very thoughtful and nice and I actually miss going there!

Cute location personable and smiley staff on a monday. Delicious c offee, and chai tea, enjoyed one of their spinach and fetta croisants, was better w the marinara. Husband ate the breakfast burritto, and stromboli and was pleased. Their food comes out hot, and fresh.

This River Road Coffee location is an amazing community coffee house. Tucked in downtown Newark, it’s a great place for food, latte hot or cold, or to sit down and have a great conversation with new or old friends. They have an amazing seating and quick order time. I am very thankful for the work they have done for helping move this section of town in a more positive direction!

Fun local coffeehouse with amazing service and hospitality! We had egg croissants and coffee / tea. Cute outside eating in the front overlooking the quaint Newark square. Highly recommend!!!

Got the iced vanilla latte, very good. They have drink ideas on the board if you want something new or don't know what to order. Price relative to most coffee places. Right on the square in Newark a couple of doors from the Midland.

Cozy and fashionable atmosphere, gracious and helpful employees (especially to someone who isn't fluent in the coffee house lingo lol)
As for recommendations, the, "Galaxy" Latte is positively decadent, bold flavors of Chocolate and Carmel without being overtly sweet.

Great little coffee shop right near Midland Theater, they have a huge variety of flavors and drinks for hot and cold brew, they also have food and pastries available, we ordered ahead but the seating looks nice and staff were all friendly.

You may have to wait a few minutes at a time sometimes but it's definitely worth it! 😋 Frozen is my favorite because it's like a milkshake consistency 😊

Beautiful place plenty of parking, front and back, amazing staff, and good selection of coffee drinks. I wouldn't recommend as a place to get food but that's not what I go for.

10/10 best service we’ve had in a looonngggg time. We were greeted and served by Mackenzie, she was super welcoming, helpful (offered to make a drink that’s not on the menu), and overall just a sweetheart. Thank you Mackenzie for showing us that there’s still people in the service industry that actually care about their job! We will be back. :)

Update: still a regular 4+ years later and though there’s all new staff from when I began my time here it’s still a great place to grab coffee with exceptional service. I highly recommend and hope they continue to be a staple in our downtown revival!

I love River Road coffee. I get the same thing usually everyday (sometimes twice a day) and the product is always very good. The staff is generally chatty and polite (Zoe is always very pleasant) and the location/atmosphere is inviting. My only issue with the store is the inconsistency with the amount of coffee that you receive. I use a tiny bit of cream and nothing else but sometimes (like today) I get a large drip coffee that is roughly 2/3 of the way full. This happens occasionally and after tip that would be $3.50 for a large coffee that is not nearly full.

Hopefully that will be looked at and they continue to be a wonderful addition to downtown!

Just a cozy, local coffee shop that feels good to be in. The staff were incredibly friendly, and were willing to make suggestions when I didn't know what to get.

I ended up trying a frozen campfire latte, and it was delicious.

Super fun menu selections. I had a Campfire Mocha and a Blueberry Muffin. First time visit to the city and really enjoyed spending a free hour in this shop.

Great place to get a coffee and spend time with a friend/friends. Very clean, very friendly staff. I recommend to try the lumberjack, I've tried it hot and it is amazing.

Yummmm!!! So many delicious options. I had 2 coffee beverages and both were great! Also loved the feel, including the poll questions for staff and guests and the bulletin board. Will definitely go back to try their gluten free goodies sometime!

Super cool little hole in the wall joint... super clean and friendly staff. Found this when traveling thru... recommend to everyone

My favorite River Road location! The baristas are always so friendly, the line moves quickly, and the drinks are consistently well made. I appreciate that the specialty drinks each have distinct flavor profiles...unlike some other coffeehouse chains in the area. :)

I love the weekly "question wall" and participate whenever I have a spare minute while waiting on my order.
