The Dalles VA Clinic

I have been with Dr. Melby and staff for almost 10 years now. They have been through my weight gain and weight loss. They listen to you before they diagnose you. They are carrying and understanding. They have dealt with my emotional needs and anxiety attacks. They watched me bring in all five of my children while we tried to figure out their daily puzzles with staff. They have grieved with me after my son passed and then my daughter. I have not been at a VA clinic the is so supportive of their veterans was this clinic. I am blessed

Since poster from out of town--Jerry Tidd below--can't figure it out here's the deal: this is not an emergency room, pharmacy, etc it's a primary care clinic only for appointments with your personal VA physician for resident local veterans. It's not the clinic's fault if you're unable to understand that. If you have VA coverage & its an emergency you can utilize an emergency room anywhere in the country & the VA will be billed, just give the VA a heads up via phone call. Not brain surgery, well for most.

I've had nothing but good care here by the doc, nurses & staff. The downside is the VA phone system; it routes you to Portland. Not being able to leave a message is a pain, the upside is that myhealthvet email messaging works well to get info & questions to the staff.

Great front staff maintain their humour. The primary medical staff are both professional and take time to talk and answer questions. They talk to you not at you.
It's the VA so always plan for a longer wait that being said they have a great library.

I have been veey satisfied with the clinic.

Any problems I have had in the past , THAT I REPORTED, were quickly resolved. Otherwise I have had no real complaints from The Dalles Clinic. The staff and especially my doc have been great. Thanks Doc Papac et al!! Now if you want to talk about the admin side in Portland. That's a different story......

Called the number twice, no answer, not even an answering message.
Pathetic performance VA.
