I miss KTA... Living on the mainland now... I miss purple potatoes and lilikoi, coconut everything, loco moco, mochi, katsu chicken, fresh ahi, & choke more!

I have been shopping here since I returned to live on the Big Island about 30 years ago. I like them best because they have always tried to offer as much local produce, meat, dairy products, and baked goods as possible.
We don’t produce anywhere near as much of our own food as we used to, and they have been forced to import more food in order to meet their customers wishes, but I appreciate their continuing effort to support other local businesses.
Fresh is best!

I got everything I needed and then some. I needed a lighter and spent over 100.00 on groceries gor my hotel room.

KTA is Ohana owned and operated over 100 years. They have the best Asian foods section and you'll find so many local products in their stores.

We went to a few KTAs on the island and it seems that this is the only store that Carrie’s the Ube cake! Best grocery store bought cake I’ve ever had. Also get there early to buy Ube mochi donuts! They sell out by early afternoon.

Side note: “Two Ladies Mochi” products are sold at this store, if you don’t want to drive all the way to Hilo to visit the store itself you can get it here. We made a road trip of the entire island and wouldn’t of made it to the store front itself in time, thankfully we were able to pick it up at KTA!

Couldn't find an item, the employee I asked took me to the aisle, Couldn't find it there, but she kept searching, 3 aisles later, there it was, very helpful.

The best store in the big island. I love all the vast selection of Hawaiian snacks and souvenirs. A must stop for any traveler.

A pleasure to shop. Some of the best grocery goods on the island. Local seafood as well as from around the world. The best Poké is served from traditional to Marlin, Ika, or scallops. Great selection of locally sourced vegetables, beef, pork, and seafood. Such an incredible selection of locally produced goods like honey, chips, bread, cookies, mochi, sauces, macadamia nut options, and coffee. Just wander the isles and you will likely find a wonderful variety of gems to choose from.

Excellent produce and variety!

Very friendly staff, it was small i rarely go there but it was nice. The store was clean they also had a little take out area hot foods. That was closed but still served me rice as we were on our way to the beach. I was really satisfied with my experience shopping there.

Sure do pack allot in a small store. Meat dept quickly provided us with a specially requested grind of beef. Great variety of products overall.
