Hana Hou Restaurant

We ate in today and really enjoyed the sandwiches and their burger, the portions were not huge but we're a good size for lunch.

I would highly recommend stopping by on the way through to black sand beach. Much better than the bakery over the road which we ate ate the day before.

You can eat in, takeaway, outside, it is very kid friendly!

I had a Lehi fish dish that was so tender I thought Thanksgiving was today. It had a mag raisin sauce! The chicken salad and potatoes were great. Best lunch we’ve had on Big Island The restrooms are worth visiting just for the mural art and cute signs!

Great food served with Aloha. My son & I ordered the chicken macadamia salad curry wrap and returned 2 days later to get it again. So delicious. It's a large wrap. The table next to us got pizza and said it was delicious 😋 Can't wait to go back!

My girls and I went to eat at this restaurant after a long day filled with activities on Saturday March 1st, and this place met our expectations.

From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with live music that brings you back and a very nice hostess. She was also the owner of the restaurant and very friendly, and tentative throughout our stay.

We ordered three main dishes, a pizza and two special dishes. Then for dessert, we ordered the banana cream pie. They were all delicious!

This was a perfect way to end our day and to keep our bellies full for the next 2 hour car ride back to our airbnb.

I would highly recommend this place for it’s location, food and service!

After a full week of “carrot juice and soaking up rays”, the southernmost restaurant in the USA stood before me - offering pizza. BBQ pork pizza. Apparently Hana Hou translated is Heaven. Lilikoi lemonade…which if I’d had a designated driver would have been a lilikoi maitai… very chill place, spotless and nice servers. One pizza serves four. Definitely a good day because of Black Sand Beach & Hana Hou. I took a MacNut Creme Pie to-go to tide me over for the three hour drive back on Saddle Highway back to Kona. Heaven.

Delicious food, wonderful service! We came in with a big group of 9 and our food came out hot and fast! Super friendly service from everyone there. Indoor and outdoor seating in a cute little building. Would highly recommend the smash burger!

Great place for food on your way to or back from Green Sand Beach. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly.

Stopped by here so we wouldn't be hangry at nearby (15min) Punalu'u Beach. The pizza was great, the service was quick, the selection was good. When they weren't serving customers, they were cleaning (the place was pretty spotless!). Why am I posting, though? You guys, the DESSERTS!! They had 3 different types of cookies (all larger than my hand!!), about 6 different types of bars (blueberry cheesecake?! Salted caramel macadamia nut?!), two different kinds of pie, at least two different kinds of cake (carrot cake or chocolate w/peanut butter frosting), and brownies. And the liliko'i lemonade you must try. Good heavens this place is a gem!
Shout out to the witty cashier who made us chuckle with her answer to, "Do you guys have a public restroom?" 😂

Stopped by Hana House cafe as I made my trip around the island. Great experience. I had the 3 cheese ravioli, tossed green salad, and garlic bread. Atmosphere was relaxing, very enjoyable with fresh air gently coming in the windows. I normally don’t eat pasta dishes but today, I’m glad I made the selection. Ample parking was available. If by chance you are having lunch and there is a crowd my recommendation is to order take out, make the short drive to Whittington Beach and enjoy the meal there. Either way the experience is fantastic.

I’m so glad we found this diner on our way back to Hilo from the South point. What a gem! The restaurant is run by a mom and daughter duo. Incredible pizzas and their special dishes of the day did not disappoint. Would highly recommend.

Love it looove it this place. Freshly baked pies&pizza. Freshed lilikoi juice and other Drinks are very good too. Everytime we go there we always order "Dynamite and lilikoi cream pie" for sure n whatever their bake goods.

Hana Hou is a great local restaurant in Naalehu. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. It's definitely a place to stop after a morning hike. We intended to order pastries that our family recommended. Instead, our belly and eyes were hungry. I had a coconut shrimp and Mahi plate. My family ordered a Loco moco, Mahi burger, pineapple fried rice, a dynamite pizza, and a variety of pastries to take home. Everyone was happy and satisfied with what they ordered. The servings and taste were perfect to satisfy the hungry belly. I will definitely come back to try everything on the menu. Thank you very much for the local experience.

Cute place with friendly staff! I had the BLT and it was made with homemade bread. There’s a little lizard that likes to hang out on the picnic tables out front. He’s adorable but is not even a little bit scared of humans. I had to shoo him away a couple of times but made for a very memorable meal!

We got breakfast burritos which were amazing! The salsa that came with them was perfect. They were so big that I didn’t even finish mine! After a long day at the beach, we came back for dinner. The BBQ pizza was out of this world! The combo of flavors is so fun and it’s piled high with toppings. We also got a char siu plate. The meat and fried rice was excellent. The mac salad is the best I’ve had on the island. Service was friendly and quick both in the morning and evening. The food is reasonably priced and the serving sizes are hearty. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the south side!

{FT Resident} After years of driving by, this was our first time eating at Hana Hou. Both the Gobbler Sub and the French Dip were both tasty and the AuJus sauce was flavorful yet not too salty! We did not buy any baked goods but they all looked wonderful. We felt that prices here were quite reasonable and the place seemed very clean inside and outside where we took advantage of nice weather to enjoy their outdoor seating area. This may have just become our new favorite place to eat in Na'alehu!

The best food. Hands down. Call it in, pick it up, enjoy! The pie is amazing... pizza is fresh and reheats well... the chinese pork is fantastic! Portions are huge and prices are great! Service is top notch! We stop by several times when we visit hawaii!

Small local restaurant with good service and great mac nut cream pie. The lilikoi pie was also amazing! Forgot to take a picture, we ate it so quickly :)

This is our favorite restaurant at which to eat when we drive south on the big island. The food is plentiful and delicious and the service is friendly and helpful.

As of 10-18-2022 they have not fully recovered from covid restrictions. You have to order your food to go, but when your order comes up you can take it inside and dine at a table. The food I'd worth it!

Absolutely divine pies. On our way to Mona Loa we made a quick stop and glad we did. It was the best pie we had - if you love nuts then do not miss this place. Also there local coffee is amazing. Another fun fact is it’s the southernmost restaurant of USA. It’s a hidden gem and we are glad we came. The lady who served us was very courteous and fast. We requested to help us with something fast n quick n she made it happen. They are keeping all Covid measures and it’s a take out joint with ample of seating. Locally owned and operated please be patient.
