This gem is a vinyl lover's paradise. You could spend all day sifting through John's near-infinite trove of used records, and an extremely well-curated selection of new records. Not to mention tons of other CDs, tapes, and random ephemera — like a tape recording of the Orson Welles 'War of the Worlds' radio broadcast. If you love truly love music, this shop will provide you with endless delight. Confusion Records (and John himself) will outlive us all.

Huge collection, vintage records, and a diverse array of merchandise for almost all categories! The person attending me was super friendly and helped me and my friends with whatever we needed. Definitely would recommend.

Confusion records is amazing! You could literally spend hours here going through vinyl, cds, cassette...I even saw a few 8 tracks! John has curated a store with audio, video and books that capture a far gone Era. Priced for any budget, there is something for everyone. New records and classics the stock is impressive. If you're a dj, producer or just an audiophile this place cannot be missed.

I’ve been to record stores all over the world, but this might be my favorite. The owner, John is a great laid back guy with a deep music knowledge and his shop has just about everything you could ever want. Highly recommend this shop for a good dig!

I am so happy this place exists. I might not always be able to find something specific, but if I wanted that I would order from turntable lab. What I love about this place are the treasures you can find and the amazing knowledge of the owner.

Stopped in from Wisconsin, what a gem of a place and a digger’s paradise. Great selection of new records up front as well. Wish I coulda hung out and chatted with Jon a bit more. Hope to be back sooner than later.

Name honors the store, left with many gems and had to go back to get more before I left FL. Jon (owner) is also one of those gems, really great guy! Recommend :)

This review has been a long time coming. Confusion Records is a hidden gem. My family and I discovered this eclectic store about a year ago and it never disappoints. John is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about every genre of music. His incredible insight will guide you to other artists and musicians with whom you may not be familiar. If you love music, and are a fan of vinyl, this place is absolutely for you!

I was visiting my friend from out of town and we decided to pop in to look around for a few minutes. John, the owner, was absolutely fantastic and knew where every album was. This was definitly the coolest collection of records i’ve ever found and I will definitely be back if i’m ever here again.

Retail shopping doesn’t get better than this. The place is chock full of character, and the owner is simply the best in the business. The new collection is well stocked and thorough. But the used is where you find the gems. John always remembers who my family listens to, and makes suggestions within genres we like. He is knowledgeable without being a snob, and he has an insane memory for where everything is placed. An hour goes by in a blink in here and it is one of our favorite places to go. Thank you Confusion Records!!!

My husband and I have been to Confusion several times and we always leave with at least one album. Yes, this store is not organized, hence the name, but it’s fun to look through all the albums because you never know what you’ll come across. John knows exactly where any album is and most of his albums are vintage, not repressed copies. I’ve found more Slade albums here than the other record stores in Palm Beach County. Definitely worth checking out!

Some of my greatest finds have been in this place. Not the typical used record store. The owner is a unique character (also a musician) who self-recorded some killer quirky low-fi garage rock releases back in the 90s, well worth adding to you collection if he happens to have any copies left. I always felt welcome when visiting Confusion. Recommended!!

Best record store in Palm Beach County. The owner, John is like a mad scientist. While things may look a little disorganized, If you ask John, he knows where everything is. It’s kind of amazing! Store could use more PUSCIFER records… but hey, no one is perfect! Give it a try… it is an experience. Located in Lake Park which is another cool reason to go! Higjly recommend!

Confusion Records is one of my all time favorite record stores. It’s not boring and cookie cutter like most record stores. I’ve been digging for records for over 30 years and have visited hundreds of record stores. This place is by far the most unique and interesting. John the owner is a super smart and knowledgeable guy. He knows I’m there to jump right in but the whole time he’s playing interesting records. I spent over an hour digging and found some gems. Then when I went to check out I spent another half hour -45 mins just chatting it up with John. He gave me a compliment which as a record digger made me feel great, he said I was very methodical in how I looked for records. That made my day! We discussed music and even some world events. I always walk out with a stack of records and always get a great deal. Going to Confusion Records is an experience like no other when looking for records, I 100% recommend giving them a try! 😎

The technological efficiency of the record store business has taken a lot of the excitement out of vinyl hunting. Not so at Confusion Records. This place is a joy, albeit a chaotic one that requires some patience. Take a deep breath and start digging. There is no other store like it around here or probably anywhere.

This was an experience as any enjoyable experience in a record store should be. The owner is friendly, knowledgeable (about artists and world affairs) and you will need his help to track things down. I plan on going back soon to hunt and explore - every album you can imagine is here. The collection is incredible.

I’m sure we can all agree, it’s great that most record shops have clear, delineated sections with nifty title cards to assist in browsing, but that just means someone has done all the work for you (truly a benefit if you need to sidestep the Dan Fogelberg catalog). However, if you get excited about tucking into stacks and walls of random vinyl, Confusion Records is the spot. While the shop may not exhibit typical retail marketing concepts such as “hype”, “flair” or “lighting”, it rightly offers the thrill of unearthing a sought-after vintage platter that probably hasn't been dusted off since the Clinton years, most certainly a value-added experience!

John’s curatorial knowledge of his trove is impressive, and if you can navigate around his oft-prickly demeanor (think of those times you dealt with similar proprietors as you wandered into antiquarian bookshops or browsed monkey paws in a sorcerer’s den), you’ll discover that Confusion Records is full of wonderful mystique, like an alluring, exotic island, a slightly dank island full of records, whispering to you in your dreams, to come back… come back… come back.
