Washington Suites

Wife and I have stayed here periodically over the past 7 years. It is usually clean, suites large enough to ride a bike in, free parking and in a safe area. We live in western New York, travel and stay in high end hotels, motels and even hostels, if the situation warrants. Washington Suites remains in our mind as the top value, largest suite and comparable amenities for leisure and Smithsonian hopping in the DC area. This is not the Hilton and yes, it host often a variety of military families and diverse travelers but we have nothing but praise for its affordability, shuttle services, apartment like suites, breakfast and attempts to please. We have paid so much more and have often gotten so much less other than a, "name brand," huge lobby and people who enjoy exclusivity.

Kudos to, "WSA" for being the best at what they do.

Great place for comedy. There’s a sign on top of the hotel that had lights in each letter blow out every night. The first night, the sign read “**SHINGTON SUITES”. By the last night of my stay, the sign read “**SHI**TON **IT**”.

I stayed there for a week and the staff is so nice, breakfast is awesome and the suites are so spacious. Money well spent, i will highly recommend it.

I Like This Hotel

There were many things I like about this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was well kept and clean. Breakfast was included and it ran until 930. The called an on demand shuttle to take us to the metro station. This made the location of this hotel awesome because we then we're only about 45 minutes on the train to downtown DC. We saved a bundle on parking and taking the train vs. Staying at a downtown hotel. Parking here was free :)
We stayed in the one bedroom king suite. It was Huge! We shared it with another couple and had plenty of room for 4 adults and 3 kids. It had a full kitchen with a stove, oven, fridge and microwave. Had a dining room area and living room area with a pull out sofa bed. The king size bed in the bedroom was super comfy, however the pull out bed was more firm than I would prefer, but suitable for a 2 day stay.
The have a pool and out door BBQ grill but we didn't use either.
Some of the furniture was dated looking. Also a few of the bathroom fixtures were oxidized. Esthetically this is no top tier hotel but cleaned well enough to not mind the older stuff. I would definitely stay again!

I stayed there a few times with friends, had a great time. Service is good the rooms are nice and I love kitchens in the rooms also have balconies and Great veiw!!

Great. Reasonable price, large room that has a separate living room with a kitchen, free parking and the Internet. On top of that, all rooms are non-smoking.

Not terrible, not great. The hotel itself is just basic. Our issue is the "free shuttle." Yes, it's free, yes it's a shuttle. HOWEVER. All three times we called for pickup he was late. First 10, then 20, then 30 MINUTES. We get in the shuttle, and why was he 30 minutes after we first called? To get take out for what looked like half of the hotel. That was frustrating. No tip for you sir. There was an older gentleman who was great, but the younger guys? Not so much.

Nice staff, nice price, but not sure why would they put a family right ne,t to the second floor bar.
