Red Roof Inn Newport News - Yorktown

Room was clean when we checked in last week. They accommodate for people's pets which is nice and rare in this area. The owner has bought pizza for every guest at least 3 times since we've stayed here. For some of the negative reviews I've seen are lies. If it's not your cup of tea then leave and go down to a $150 or $200 a night hotel. Don't hate on a business cause your too cheap to not go anywhere else. I feel safe here and i can sit in my car to smoke to stay away from the building like they ask. No one's bothered us. It's been a nice stay here.

This is truly a hidden gem that is constantly working hard to elevate the quality they bring to their guests every day. At first it seems quiet and nothing special. However, if you notice closely there is nothing wrong. No bugs, no stains, no shady characters, no mold, absolutely none of the things that scare you away. Then if you stay long enough you start to notice all the little things that make it a pleasent happy place. Like they use name brand creamer and ALWAYS have fresh coffee. They have 2 hot tub rooms with fully functional hot tubs. They are always cleaning and doing repairs as needed, and if you stay long enough you may get to experience the best part of this place. The staff. At the front desk there is Alexia, she is as delightful as they come. A young beatiful lady, and very charming and approachable. Shes down to earth and always has your back when you need something, like towels, batteries, getting a low rate, reccomending a place to eat, or just someone to shoot the breeze with. Then there is Dwain. He looks like a young Bruce Willis from the first Die Hard. Hes always down to listen and has a big sense of humor and well educated on a lot of different topics, so he can hold a conversation about anything. His nearly 2 decades of expertise in the hospitality industry really shows. Then there is Ryan. This tall quiet guy seems like he is the embodiment of indifference and incapable of any emotion at first. Until you need something. Then you realize this big guy will go to war and move mountains for you. You wont hear a lot of talking from him but he shoots ya straight. He is always keeping a sharp eye on everything and he is very thoughtful....even if he doesnt appear to be at first. Then finally that brings me to the owner. He works every bit of hard as all his employees and leads by example. He is always available to talk to and listens to every concern no matter how big or how small. He gets pizza for all the guests regularly, and he started as an immigrant to this country and earned everything he has today through hard work and earning peoples respect. Even though he wasnt from here, he is more American than anyone I know because he is what this country has always stood for. We are a nation of immigrants and he is the embodiment of the American dream. So this humble little place that resides in Yorktown VA. where the revolitionary war was won, and ran by a man who is the personification of what our fore fathers stood for, makes this Red Roof Inn the most American Hotel in the world and I am damn proud to stay here.

I came in a day early two different reservations. Ryan was very polite and help me with my room so I would not have to move and I got to stay where I'm at. Again Thanks Ryan 😊 we will be back next year

Clean neat slept well quiet food locations are close and nearby within walking distance drugstore also within walking distance hospital and pet friendly good experience

Very nice staff! clean room and quiet area. My stay was amazing cable was great.

Vimal Desai the manager at this location was great. We travel for work and most rooms can be tight especially with all the stuff we carry. We booked the larger superior room and it was so comfortable and spacious. If we ever have to locate to this area again this is where I am staying.

Affordable and excellent service. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. I'm definitely thinking about coming back and even staying for a while until I find our own place.

This Hotel is very nice. Most say no smoking and the whole place reeks of it. This place is very clean and quiet. The manager went above and beyond in helping me. Some how there was a previous mistake and he fixed it. I would highly recommend. It's well lit and safe. I have stayed in may red roof inns with this one being by far the best not only in cleanlines but also customer service. I had stayed at one previous in the same state (Hampton, VA Coliseum) and was robbed at gunpoint while pregnant. This red roof inn just has a sense of safety.

Under new management and they are in the process of updating so while the place shows some sign of wear, the staff was fantastic, the rooms were cleans, and it was an overall great stay!

I thought this place was really nice, and it was much better than I expected. The room had wood floors, so that was nicer than a sticky, dirty carpet that never gets shampooed. The didn't have a coffee maker in the room (bc of Covid?) but there was a fridge and microwave. The employees were nice. We didn't have any issues.

Very private location I had a spa tub it was amazing

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was wonderful to go fishing with the kids in Yorktown and go to bush gardens as well.Very pet friendly. Room was clean. Pool was clean. They had a small laundry room in which we took advantage of, so no dirty clothes when we get home.

Dwayne is a good worker and he took good care of us.

First off the hotel was nice and clean. Very peaceful and great for our family. The staff were amazing! After returning home tonight Sun Aug 12th we could not locate my wife's wallet. We called the hotel and the night shift guy was amazing and super helpful! He was very concerned and helpful. Anytime we come back to Virginia we will stay here!

Where do i start ?? Very nice clean hotel with beautiful people with great attitudes ! My children and i stayed for a week while we were having a bad time and in need . the staff were absolutely great. I will never stay anywhere now but here !!!!!!! I actually was sad to leave .. And everyone knows there's no place like home, but i felt home from the time i walked in the door . Big XOXO to the house keeper . i love her , please if you stay here be kind to her and tip her as well . she is very deservant of it . They are all understanding and polite plus friendly . Affordable was a plus , so book your room here !!!!

Staff is great!
Especially the Manager Nickie. The rooms were well maintained, everything was nice in clean. I recommend this location to anyone. We will gladly return back to Red roof inn at Yorktown.

The people at the front desk are amazing. Very friendly and even the Maintence man introduced himself. Dogs stay free which is a big help. Military friendly. I would highly recommend this place to any military family and others!
