There isn’t too much info or pictures of The Washington Center despite its being as big is it is so I’ll do my best. My time with the TWC was phenomenal. They gave me the opportunity to meet with a lot of professionals in the DC area, create friends from all over the USA, explore the beautiful DMV area, and meet people from all over the world! While some alumni hated their experiences I loved mine and it truly is just too many great things to leave in one simple review.
(TLDR: Similar to what Emma said this truly was a once in a lifetime experience)

I had internships through the Washington Center during the summer of 2012 and again in 2013. It was an amazing experience. The apartments were really nice and spacious and it was very centrally located with the train station only two blocks away. I worked at the VA which was down the street from the White House. Getting work experience at a government agency in DC was invaluable and I believe it made me a unique applicant to jobs post-graduation. I had one of the few paid government internships with TWC so it may be different from others but I'd highly recommend this program based on my two experiences. Even if you're considering a program where you have to pay, I'd compare it to a Study Abroad program where you're getting to live in a new city and have a unique job experience.

I was hesitant to do this program due to the several sour reviews, but I'm here to set the record straight. I did this program in summer of 2019, The Washington Center was my favorite summer of my undergraduate career. I took every chance the program had to offer. I was able to bowl in the White House, attend meetings with Presidential cabinet members, be a part of numerous in-house events, socials and made tons of friends. I gained so much perspective working and living in the city, I gained professional practices and grew as an individual. This program changed how I viewed the world. It is so worth it! I would go back every summer if I could! - great living as well super secure and clean building.

I really loved the National Security Seminar I did here back in summer 2019, and I really hope to pursue an internship through them in the future. They have really friendly employees, people that are happy to help and see you grow, and they have beautiful residential facilities. It's a perfect location and a great way to get immersed into the D.C. experience.

Internships look to be easy, and maybe you can get one, but not the powerful internships and programs around those internships that TWC can offer. My interactions with TWC have been great. Very interesting academic thinking. Wonderful interpersonal skills. The insights and deep deep relationships to the DC community they offer are life changing. I am a supporter of what they do. No other way to go about this.

I had the privilege of being the faculty adviser for a group of students from all of the U.S. during The Washington Center’s 2019 Inside D.C. Seminar. The Washington Center produced an incredible seminar with speakers from both sides of the aisle, media, and think tanks. Through their relationships with partners throughout the Beltway, TWC arranged for us to visit some great organizations which provided us with one-on-one access to decision makers and influencers. The students had access to leaders that they likely would not have been able to get access to otherwise. The result of participation in the program is life altering; I would recommend this program for any student in any major.

Moved my daughter in for a fall semester internship. The move in process was very well managed and her dorm was really nice. She's been there a few weeks now and has nothing but great things to say about The Washington Center experience.

Not only did I make incredible friends that I've stayed in touch with, I gained amazing work experience that helped me get hired in my field immediately after graduation. It was definitely the internship that set me apart from other candidates.

Great experience. It’s a residential facility for interns from all over the world. That offer a lot of programs in DC with government and private companies. Totally regiment to all university students 💛
