We love going to this park. It was the first time back since the hurricane. Some of the trees in the main picnic area are gone, and just stumps are left. It's still a beautiful walk and a nice day out. I like seeing the wildlife. My one kid saw 34 lizards on our short walk. We also saw a water bird.

Family friendly and absolutely insanely gorgeous! This is my favorite place in the area. There are a lot of tree roots to walk over, so that is one thing to note. I have seen so many awesome animals here, turtles, alligators, so many birds, etc.

Beautiful park for an "adventure walk" my son calls them. The trails are clearly marked and there are bridges over the water when necessary. No decent facilities but that's okay. We walked the main trail it's pretty wide open and well maintained. Very shaded too so it's not to bad with the heat.

Had a good time walking part of a trail today. It was 82° and perfect weather Myakkahatchee creek environmental Preserve is a beautiful place to spend some time in the great outdoors. The trails are clearly marked and new areas seem to have been cleared lately that are perfect for short walks we will be back, it’s where we go to exercise and soak in nature! Spotted a pileated woodpecker today!

This city-owned park is free and open to the public. The trail system follows the Myakkahatchee Creek. We saw an alligator, egret, owl, lizards, and more. For the most part, the area is undisturbed. Parking is convenient and bathrooms are available.

So pretty! The birds are very voisterous. At first felt the trails were very well marked, then came to a void...no worries found my way out.
When I did I was met with a pleasant surprise! Dogs!

Trail is for walking, biking and horsetail. There is a toilet ( always a must!)
There are benches along the paths and a great mix of sun and shade.

Very beautiful, well-preserved area. I loved walking along the trails. Ian did some damage, but they've done such a good job of cleaning up

Hands down one of our favorite places to go! Trails are all maintained wonderfully, the trees and vegetation all seem so tropical, plenty of parking, plenty of trails, places to have a picnic - don’t sleep on this place!

Lots of fun for mountain biking! Challenging for a newbie. The trails along the creek across the bridge kind of away from the park, I took a beating but ill be back for sure. Keep your eyes open, saw at least 4 gators and im sure there were several I didnt see.

Great MTB. Search for Prosper inside Myakkahatche. It has a 6 foot drop. 2-3 4-6 ft jumps. OMG I couldn’t do it because the sun had already set and it was dark for the JUMP. It’s Sooooo beautiful!!!’

As many others are saying, this is a nice hidden gem. I took my time walking about, as this area is quite large, and as I learned, complex. To enter the Big Slough area of the park, travel to farthest point in parking lot and go left. You'll see a concrete elevated foot bridge. Cross that and you're in the preserve. Once there, you'll understand the complex part. This area butts up to private lands, Carlton Reserve, and Myakka River State Park. I chose the powerline path to the right. It's a gravel and grass path. Upon reaching the bridge, there are two more map boards and trails. These are Live Long and Prosper. At Prosper, I made a right. This took me to a campground. On the other side was the parking lot I started out in. I also found the Red and Yellow trails. All paths were well taken care of. During my hikes, I encountered small families, friends, grandparents with grandchildren, mountain bikers, people with dogs, fishermen, and other solo hikers. This park is a wonderful serene place for people of all ages to enjoy. It will take many visits to see it all, and even then, I bet there's more to explore. I only saw one restroom located in the parking lot area. I suggest you pack your emergency t.p. just in case, and take care of nature's call, in nature, if need be.

Great Park with a good number of loop trails. Some cool habitats; transitioning between Oak dominated areas to Sabal Palm to Pine. Lots of picnic tables near the parking lot and a small accessible bathroom also in the area.

This place is very quiet and serene. Nobody bothers anyone here and there are beautiful trails to hike down. Ive also seen people riding horses on these trails. I fished the creek with a cane pole but caught nothing. Alot of beautiful plantation and ranch style homes in the area. I'll definitely be returning here for a picnic or to go horse back. Great tourist destination....
