Wonderful atmosphere, great staff (compromised in part.of the owners), fantastic food prepared by the renowned chef and fun crowd. Also cooking classes once per month to boost ur culinary talents. A sure win. Check it out. And best of all, Robert the owner and chef is a Veteran.

I was recommended by a local that I met, who's review is on here as well. She was spot-on very cozy very small place highly recommended. I'm a certified chef and I was most impressed with the service quality and speed at which the small plates were served. The owner and his wife are there all the time, the owner being the chef. He is a United States Navy veteran and the place is very veteran-friendly. Great place to chat all the regulars are extremely outgoing and very friendly. You will enjoy yourselves I will definitely be going back.

Wow! You feel like you are on vacation in Spain at this place. The owner is super friendly and inviting. Nicole was just the best! The DJ, Paul, picked just the right music. He was friendly and contributed to the awesome atmosphere. Even the chef made delicious food and was so kind to check on us to make sure we enjoyed it- even while we were sitting at an outside table. This really is quite a special place. I wish it was located in Sarasota so we could go more often. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! We had forgotten what it was like to have a nice and delicious relaxing dinner with a glass of good wine and great food.

This is the in place to be if you are a foodie and like to enjoy many artistic and culinary delights. Every week is a new experience and a palate delight!

I have never been disappointed and love all the extra events, especially the cooking classes and wine pairings!

On another note it is a place where I can truly say I have met some wonderful people and enjoy the camaraderie! Bob and Kim are always accommodating as well as JoJo and Carolyn.

This veteran friendly restaurant has a very talented and creative chef that makes great food. The menu changes weekly so it’s like going to a new restaurant each week. And you can count on the food to be delicious each time. Chef Bob is a veteran and owner with his wife Kim and they always make you feel at home. I highly recommend you go here to have an enjoyable experience.

We went in tonight wanting to try Tapas1 out. Was a great atmosphere and the owners make you feel at home! I had some wine and they have a large selection of both beer and wine. The food was amazing! You can tell “The Chef” takes a lot of pride in his work. And with the menu always changing, you know you can have a different experience every time.
We will definitely be back to visit!

This place is a real charmer with a small but well thought out menu and friendly staff. Perfect for date night or having a few beers and some excellent food.

Had brunch this morning. What a lovely place! Great atmosphere! Not to Quiet and not to loud either. Very friendly with fabulous food nicely priced. Great wine selection! I have definitely found my Favorite place in North Port. This place is a great find and a hidden gem if you haven't been. Great for any date night.

Tapas 1 is a gem. Small, quant and comforting. The food is great & the wine selection is amazing. I like the no cell phone use policy. Seems nice to "unplug" once in a while. Very clean and warming. Regardless if it's your first time or a regular, Bob & Kim are always welcoming and treats everyone as a friend. You may enter as a stranger but guaranteed you'll leave as a friend. Congrats on such a beautiful establishment.

Nice place, great staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Chef makes small plates and has very good culinary knowledge. Mostly wine selections, but they do have a small selection of craft beer on tap. Will return again!

We eat here all the time. Awesome place for wine and food. Great setting for friends and/ or a dinner date. Please don’t listen to the BS reviews about the owner being anti military or anti woman. I have known him for years and is a class act as well as a veteran.

My wife and I have recently made North Port our home and are glad to have found such a great place amidst a plethora of chain establishments.
Because of our recent move and the busy schedules we’ve had as a result we’ve only been here three times but the consistency of each visit hasn’t wavered... each visit was enjoyable, the food and drink top notch and the personal touch spot on.
Have out of state family in for the week... I know where we’re going tonight !

Great evening with friends. We arrive a little before 6pm and were seated in a comfy corner of this small little gem. We were promptly greeted by Kim the owner who provided details of the world of Tapas and wine. We both order 2 bottles of wine which were reasonably price by restaurant standards and were give 4 complementary tapas tastings. We ate veggie stuffed mushrooms, Crabcakes, Pork Kebabs ,Smoked Salmon on a potato crape with some topping & caviar. All were excellent, however we all agreed we liked the kebob best. A wonderful, relaxed evening. Never once did we feel they wanted us to move on to get someone else in.

Family & Veteran owned craft beer & international foodie mecca! This is a gem of a place and they have 2 professional dart boards and on purpose limited seating for an intimate release from the daily grind. No verbal cell phone use adds to the great social ambience. Chef Bob never disappoints with his rotating menu & beers. Craft beer & food lovers heaven. Check them out!

This is my favorite restaurant! Great food, beer and wine. Check out their website before going for hours and menu. Menu changes weekly and sometimes there’s a surprise item on the board. There’s a DJ taking requests on Friday night. Enjoy!

Tapas1 has definitely made its mark here in North Port. It is a small plate wine bar that is a cut above the rest. They continue to surprise me everytime I come in to eat. Each meal is made by scratch by Chef Bob and served with elegance by Kim, both owners of Tapas1. They both want you to feel at home while enjoying the company of others around you.

They have Wine Down Wednesdays, Sunday Brunch and special themed Dinners that have a selected wine pairing that Bob and Kim hand select to go with each meal.

So come in, sit down, and leave your electronics on silent because here it's all about relaxing and enjoying yourself and not staring at your phone.

This place is awesome. Great wine and beer selection, the owners make you feel like you’ve been a regular for years. The whole place is very clean and the food is amazing!!!
