Food was absolutely amazing! The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was divine. We had squid, octopus, fried green tomatoes, swordfish, trout, tuna, steak, and a burger. The drinks were delicious! The dessert is definitely worth the try! Butterscotch was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was so laid back but the food was gourmet. It's woman owned and the food is locally sourced.

The dining spaces are deceptively larger than you'd think from the outside, but that doesn't take away from the cozy environment inside. With a farm (and water) to table menu that changes regularly and zero-proof cocktails accompanying the rest of the drinks menu for a more inclusive dining experience, we will certainly be back.

First and foremost Sydni was so pleasant to work with while planning my sister's bridal shower. I really appreciated how much she communicated with us over the last few months. Josh was amazing as our, day of coordinator. Anytime we needed something he and his team delivered. With both of their help our event went better than we anticipated. The atmosphere was perfect with the large windows but the FOOD was beyond delicious. Everything was scrumptious especially the shrimp and grits. All of our guests raved about how GOOD the food was. We honestly could not have chosen a better venue. Thanks for helping us create a special day for my sister Wahoo! Grill!!!

We hosted my son’s graduation party at Wahoo! And everyone was thoroughly impressed! We had a private area in the garden and it was everything! The environment was beautiful, the food was delicious (people talked about the food for days lol) and the service was top tier! Highly recommend.

10/10 experience, my wife smiled the whole time celebrating her birthday. The staff were very friendly, the chef and his team did a fantastic job on our meals. We shared the crab bisque to dip the Focaccia in and both got the NY strip, Flavor profile was incredible. We had a variety of drinks and all were unique and delicious. Dessert was fantastic and the espresso martini was a perfect way to cap off the evening. The management at this location is stellar and you can tell every detail is accounted for, we will be back soon!

TLDR: Perfect food, ambiance, and attention.

We came here because it was in proximity to our event. We will return because it was fantastic. From the valet (Patrick) who gave us food recommendations to the host to the waitress (Taylor) to the manager (Brett) who came and introduced himself to the chef who came to our table to see how everything was for us to the busboy and back to the valet again, it was the best and most attentive service we’ve had in a long time.

But wait! The food was all perfect too. Cornbread, calamari, and meatball appetizers — all perfection. The cocktails and “that” wine were fantastic and my friend was so happy they had espresso martinis. The halibut, burger (🙌) and seared scallops were so good that even though we didn’t leave room for dessert we took the suggestion of bread pudding and butterscotch. I told the waitress I don’t like dessert and rarely order it because it’s not usually worth it, but after all the other fantastic food I’d regret not having a dessert of the same caliber!

Please keep supporting this fantastic establishment so this level of quality, attention to detail, and ambiance can continue in this area. ❤

One of my favorite places to dine in Decatur. I first visited here for my wedding anniversary 8 years ago and it is still a number one on my list. I had the salmon and it was sooooooo good. You must stop at the patio to see the garden view

We had a wonderful dinner. Red fish was fresh and delicious. Scallops were cooked perfectly. The wine selection is good and reasonably priced. The outside garden patio has a relaxing ambiance. Service was excellent. We're happy to have found this gem.

We held a joint 80th birthday party/bar mitzvah celebration with 30 guests on a Friday night in the back garden. Everyone raved about the food, service and location. We’d definitely come back for future events. Thank you, Wahoo!

Amazing experience. The food was indescribably delicious. There was so much depth to each dish. Each flavor was enchanting. The service was wonderful, the waitress was kind and attentive, and the chef and manager came to check on us. The chef even came by to talk about the dish and what made it unique. Everyone was so pleasant and seemed not only happy to be there, but also passionate about their work. Lastly, I am gluten free and the staff were very knowledgeable and careful. Something I really appreciated was the transparency on the menu. Gluten free items and could be made gluten free items were clearly denoted on the menu. I didn't have to ask for a GF menu or ask about the ingredients for specific dishes. There were a good variety of options for me.

Extremely helpful, friendly, and organized. Best place for an intimate wedding!

I had an amazing dinner here! We were crazy about the parmesan fries with the parm dip, and the cauliflower steak was super flavorful and all the vegetables were so fresh and filling! The service was also amazing and very quick. Everyone was super kind and friendly. 10/10 experience

We visited this wonderful restaurant in Decatur on a Tuesday evening for our anniversary. I visited the wine shop next door some months ago and never noticed this restaurant. Overall great place! Here are some details:

Parking: We found a free parking spot on East Lake drive but there is valet parking in the back. No idea how much it was but it is available.

Floor plan: A beautiful intimate restaurant! We entered from the W College Ave entrance and although a little confusing it was nothing that would make or break an experience. The gentlemen directed us to the main area which was a beautiful garden view! The receptionist asked if we had reservations and we did not, so she directed us to the main dining room area with a nicely stocked bar and open kitchen. The other areas of the restaurant are the indoor garden room area(beautiful garden set up and reservations required for this area, really nice and great for a date night or after work dinner) and an outdoor eating area.

Service: Our waitress Kiera was great. After welcoming us and asking if this was our first time, she informed us of the seasonal options, her favorites and offered suggestions. Didn’t feel rushed at all. In addition the manager Christopher checked on us often and refilled our glasses of water several times.

Appetizers:
- Calamari- Nicely fried with an tasty aïoli drizzle lemon zest. The fried banana peppers were a nice twist in this dish.
- Crab bisque- Flavorful and seasoned nicely. Not too heavy. Great for the summer.

Entrees:
- Sea seared scallops- Sooooo Buttery with sea salt. (Amazing!!!) Instead of the Swiss Chard with bacon, we substituted for green beans. The corn and bean succotash was a nice compliment. The brown butter and caper sauce made the dish! Would definitely order again!
- Grilled Redfish made with coconut milk, risotto and mango chutney. Risotto was creamy and made with so much southern hospitality! The mango chutney added a level of sweetness that was not expected. The redfish was cooked perfectly but seemed like another oily fish option would have been better. Personal opinion but good dish and got better with each bite!

Overall, great restaurant, great wine list, fast and helpful service and great food. We will return soon and bring our friends who are visiting!

Oh!!! On Tuesday they have margaritas and taco specials at the bar only. Will be back for this!

We had an amazing graduation lunch for my daughter. Pam and her team were impeccable with their service and the food was enjoyed by all. The small dining room was intimate and yet not cramped. Would definitely host another small gathering here.

A year ago we had the pleasure of getting married at Wahoo Grill. Tonight we returned to celebrate our anniversary and had an amazing experience with our waitress Megan! Hearing it was our anniversary, she gifted us some complimentary champagne. The food was excellent and the service was even better!

First things first Pam and Skee are the 2 best and nicest people to ever exist. My wife and I had our wedding reception at Wahoo! Grill from 6pm-12am in late April. The space was gorgeous and the process was seamless. Pam was incredibly helpful with planning among other things and Sydni (event coordinator) was responsive, attentive, and very knowledgeable about any questions we had. If I could give my experience a 10/5 stars I would and we will also be going back regularly as the restaurant itself has delicious food and a one of a kind atmosphere. 5/5 only because I can’t give more stars.

Nestled in a secret garden off College Ave, Wahoo! Grill has been serving Decatur for 18 years and we know why they love it. The moment you walk in the door you’re greeted with an indoor-outdoor vibe, in the main dining space, while outside a large patio that feels secluded. On the menu, a wide variety of options abound from Wahoo fish to lamb to southern staples, as well as a great cocktail menu and desserts. Let’s explore.

Starting with their signature Grilled Wahoo Sofrito that’s tender yet meaty and topped with a tomato forward Spanish sofrito sauce, earthy, crunchy asparagus, and an earthy, seasoned savory risotto underneath. OR go for their new menu item, the grilled half rack of lamb, our favorite bite of the day! Succulent and tender, well-seasoned lamb, the rhubarb sauce underneath is sweet and juxtaposed the savory meat. Then, paired with a sharp and herbaceous potatoes au gratin and earthy asparagus!

Plus, Wahoo! Grill’s cocktail program is “perfection” with this Pina en la pina is a fresh and tangy pina colada style drink with a great tang, cream, and dash of nutmeg. And for the finale, make sure to sample the bread pudding; it’s grandmother’s recipe! It is warm and rich, stuffed with raisins topped with a creamy bourbon glaze. OMG!

Other menu highlights include the Pimento cheese Fritters! They are sinful crispy bites stuffed with pimento cheese inside then a sharp and a sweet spicy tomato sauce underneath! Also, their solid fried green tomatoes that are crispy, perfectly breaded outside, slightly crisp yet tender tomato inside, then a balsamic drizzle for brightness and cool goat cheese to round out the bite. They typically come with shrimp, but we got without.

Fried chicken, a staple of Wahoo! Grill’s menu, is plump and tender, and has a great crunch outside. Paired with collard greens that are rich, spicy and savory, as well as crunchy warm fries. Finish it off with, A crime of passion, an herbaceous and floral gin cocktail mixed with juicy passion fruit and lime, then a rose petal rim to dress it up!

This place was amazing!! We went here for our friends wedding and it was the perfect small wedding venue! The ambience was wonderful, the food was incredible, and it's like a hidden hole-in-the-wall gem.

I'm so happy we got to experience this restaurant as a wedding venue and we will definitely be back for their regular restaurant too!

I photographed a wedding here and it was by far the best experience I have had! The food was DELICIOUS, Kaitlyn (the coordinator) and her team were all so kind, the atmosphere is STUNNING, and everyone was so helpful. I was able to eat inside at the bar rather than in a closet like most places, which was so nice! 10/10 would recommend for an event or just for dining out!

Megan was our sever , she was so kind and kept us laughing! Beautiful restaurant & amazing food. We will be back again soon ✨
