The staff were all amazing. They were so friendly & you could tell every single one of them, love their job, & are happy to be there. My son was upset that he couldn’t eat or drink anything before his surgery, & they went out their way to make him comfortable. They gave him a sticker sheet, a balloon, & they had push cars to distract him while we waited for his surgery to begin. They also didn’t seem bothered by him running around the hospital playing with the push car & all around were extremely nice. We love Oschner, & choose them over every other hospital. They care they provide is incomparable!

My daughter came close to chopping off her finger at work and when we got to Oschner main, we were taken care of by the most amazing team of medical professionals who made us feel completely comfortable Thank you to Andrew Ginsberg and Mathew Callier for keeping us calm and making us laugh throughout the surgery they both preformed. And also a huge hug to PA Anila Johncutty for checking on us multiple times to make sure we knew what was going on and that we had everything we needed! Highly recommend choosing Oschner for your medical needs!

Ochsner to me has been just absolutely amazing, at a really difficult time in my life. I live in Mississippi, it’s so great that we can drive to Louisiana and stay at the hotel at the hospital. The rooms were so extra nice. At one point I forgot about my surgery because of the lovely rooms and all the amenities for a split second I felt like I was on vacation . It’s that thoughtfulness of this hospital to make the patients experience the best and so convenient. I have the most skilled doctors taking care of me and although we are far from done with my surgeries and treatments I know I am in the best hands and best care. But the single complaint was the blended bbq chicken thigh. But everything else was great. Ochsner to me in a word Blessing.

My comments are concerning the neurology dept. at Ochsner and the treatment received by Rachel Rhinehart, PA-C. I was very much impressed by her professionalism and the time she took with me during my appointment. I was never rushed and she was quite thorough. Ms. Rhinehart discussed possible considerations and fully explained everything in detail. An excellent, caring provider who I highly recommend for all neurology matters.

I’m very pleased with the Physical Therapy that I’ve received at Ochsner’s Veterans Blvd. branch. Every therapist that I’ve worked with there, has been stellar! Kind, compassionate, and extremely extreme knowledgeable, what more could I want? I did go to a competitor several years prior to my first visit with Ochsner, and the physical therapist at the other location actually made my issue worse, and refused to listen to my feedback.

The coordinator named Miss Michelle which was a RN nurse. She did an excellent job all the doctors did excellent jobs and explaining to me actually what I already knew. I needed a nerve test which in 3 days I couldn't get that was the time that I was there , now I have to go home get my own nerve test and call them back. Waste of time waiting on a nerve test that they couldn't do at the time , these are some great people doing some hard jobs .

My neurologist, Dr. Posas at Ochsner is such a great doctor. I would suggest him to anyone who needs a great neurologist for treating severe migraines. I used to suffer daily with them and couldn't function or barely work because of them, and now he has me feeling like I have quality of life again.

I have been a patient of Ochsner many times and for many different ailments. I was born at Ochsner, gave birth at Ochsner, went to re-hab there at Ochsner, ect. My whole family goes to Ochsner for their medical and psychiatric needs. It is a top-notch hospital with many different services and top of the line equipment. It's a teaching hospital so you do deal with interns sometimes, but they are under physician supervision, so you can always request to see the doctor also. It is clean, they have a one day surgery center. They have services for many, many different needs. They have social workers to help figure out the way. I won't go anywhere else! 👍😁

There is no other health care provider in the city of Orleans or Jefferson parishes that have treated me or my family better than Ochsner. They do an excellent job...the cleanliness, professionalism from the staff, care, concern, treatment that I have ever received anywhere else.

I have a liver condition, and there are no liver specialists in my area. I went to Mayo/Jacksonville. The doctor there was difficult for me to understand, curt and abrupt. I left there feeling as if I were an errant first grader in the principal’s office. Several months later I developed ascites, and my local doctor wanted me to go back
to Mayo. I talked to the doctor’s nurse who told me that she did not understand why my local doctor wanted me to come back and I was denied an appointment.

Then I went to Piedmont/Atlanta where a procedure called TIPS was done. I was supposed to be in ICU for one night, but there were no available beds, so I was sent to a room on a floor that was extremely understaffed. The nurses had no idea how to care for me, so I took care of myself. The only MD I saw was the hospitalist who dismissed me. There has been be little follow up care, and my quality of life has been reduced to that of a near invalid.

A friend suggested I come to Ochsner. What a difference! I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Zapata in the hepatology department. She spent time with my husband and me, listened, told me several things to do that might help and was empathetic and seemed to really want to help me. I now feel that I have some support and someone who cares. I’m so glad I came here!

We went there for a visit with my son to see a pediatric endocrinologist and the whole thing was fantastic. From start to finish, the entirety of the staff were friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable, diligent and just overall helpful. Which if you’ve been in and out of the hospital/drs offices as much as I have, you’d know that’s nearly rare to find such a perfectly cultivated environment that really makes you feel at ease as far as advocating for yourself/your child, wait times, cleanliness, knowledge of practicing staff, communication skills, responsiveness to your concerns, etc. They knocked it out of the park, they were amazing. It could’ve been that he was the first appointment of the day for that field, maybe everyone ate breakfast and had their coffee, or maybe they’re just happy people, either way, it was a great experience and I have high hopes since we’ll be there rather frequently that it won’t be much different next time either.

Blessed to receive a kidney transplant on July 4. Surgeons and transplant nurses were awesome. Received terrific care. Transplant personnel are great from entering the center to the blood work nurses to the post transplant nurses, coordinator, Kelvin Norman, and nephrologist, Dr. Wickman.

My only complaint is about their out-sourced hospital food. It needs a lot of help. Frustrating to order from menu and not get any because they were out of it. Most was inedible. Only good item was their chicken salad on a croissant. Cafeteria food isn't much better but at least you can see and pick it.

I’m pulling this directly from my husband’s survey of his stay:

“All of the nurses and staff at Ochsner were supportive of our need for understanding and being Informed throughout the entire treatment process.

The first nurse, LaMonica, encouraged my wife and I to ask questions and to advocate for my care. Amanda and the trainee nurse, Patricia(?), suggested to the physician that I get a sleep study done after we talked with them about my sleeping patterns. Taylor talked to us about dietary restrictions and suggestions for grocery shopping and home cooking. The final nurse (whose name I didn't catch, unfortunately) gave us information about new hypertension studies that've been coming out in the medical field.

Emily, the physician during my stay, was beyond amazing. She wrote up instructions for BP reading, for what to do in case of X, Y, or Z scenarios occurring, ensured that my wife and I understood what we needed to do at home to secure my health, and she was overall wonderful to work with.”

My stay at Ochsner’s was exceptional. The doctors and nurses treated me wonderfully. I have been using Ochsner’s for more than 40 years and have no plans to change.

Went in with a hand injury and Dr Heath did an amazing job at addressing the injury as prompt as possible as well as the rest of the staff, considering the jam packed ER room. Courteous and friendly staff from start to finish. THANK YOU Oschner!!

This is what healthcare should be like. The experience was professional, the providers were kind, and the process was efficient. Little-to-no wait time for the scheduled exam.

I had a great experience. The staff was wonderful. The Dr was delayed but that sometimes happens. Katelyn was the nurse I remember helping most. I had a VNS battery replacement.
