Had a fantastic brunch here with my friend today. It's a casual yet polished, cozy restaurant. It was busy, but not too loud. We had delicious cappuccinos, and split the pancakes, quiche and a salad. The quiche was divine-- layers of egg, cheese, and potato with truffle throughout. The truffle wasn't overpowering and the combination was great, especially with the fresh simple salad. The pancakes were fantastic as well. Simple, fluffy and flavorful with amazing, crisp edges. I wish I could make them like this!

We each left, paying less than 40$, which felt like a steal in NY. We even checked the bill to make sure it was all there!

Can't wait to come back!

Sometimes I still dream about the pancakes here - just the right balance of soft fluffiness to golden crispiness, and lightly soaked in syrup and butter! Strong contender for best pancakes I’ve had in New York! Accompanying dishes are new American style with focus on ingredients. Gets busy during weekend brunch so reservations are best!

the perfectly crispy pancakes on the outside with a fluffy interior. honey butter and syrup elevated the whole tasting experience to the next level. pair this sweet goodness with fresh strachiatella, topped with ripe tomatoes, basil, olive oil & salt on fresh sourdough and you’re in love. what a fantastic brunch. only qualm is the small tables.

My partner and I have been to a lot of solid restaurants—this is without a doubt in our top three of all time. The pancakes are the best you’ll ever have but don’t let that stop you from exploring the rest of the menu because everything we’ve tried is exceptional (the only thing that’s remotely mediocre is their black coffee). Absolutely make a reservation ahead for brunch unless you want to wait multiple hours. We go out of our way to visit every time we’re in NY and it has not disappointed!

Nestled in Greenpoint is a simple and elegant French bistro with the best pancakes in the world. The pancakes are light on the inside and thin-crispy on the outside. With a thickness that means you can get both in one bite, the result is a pancake that needs no syrup. The pancake's taste is delicate sweetness and light creaminess, with a texture that keeps you happy with the light crunch and satisfied when the moist middle melts on your tongue. I don't mean this to be flippant: this is the best panacke. In. The. World.

As for the quiche, the quiche was ... well dang it. The best quiche in the world. No joke. The trick, it turns out, is to have more filling than egg. Most quiches are custard-forward. Don't be. Be filling-forward, with fillings that go well with a custard binding. That's what the chef does here to excellent effect. I hate kale and this is the first time I've enjoyed eating kale. I can't imagine what happens when they use ingredients that I already like. It's absolutely bonkers that I've gone this long without realizing a great quiche is not about just the eggs ... a great quiche is about _everything else_ and the eggs ARE SECONDARY. 🤯

They'll be closed until I think late May or June. Once open, get out there. Pick a weekday or something b/c everyone else has learned about them by now. Get the pancakes as you would an appetizer, and then each person at the table get a main. That way you are not just enamored of the pancakes but also everything else on this excellent cafe's menu.

We had a terrific early dinner (as soon as they opened) with cocktails, wine, and food. Everything was delicious! Service was excellent. Cute/comfortable space.

This was a genuine 5-star experience with all the freshness you could expect from a summer brunch. The restaurant's decor was bright and cozy with ambient sunlight peeking in. The food was light yet filling at the same time, with the pancakes having the perfect balance of crisp first-bites and satisfying fluffy flavor. The quiche was soft and easy to get into, each layer was distinct yet crafted a cohesive flavorful experience. The fresh juices were refreshing and the staff welcoming and friendly. Overall, could not have had a better start to the morning than with our brunch here. I will say the location is a bit far from the nearest subway station, but well worth the walk in every aspect.

From the first bite, I knew these were going to be the best pancakes I’ve eaten. Nothing else comes close. The pancakes taste almost deep-fried, like those donuts with a sturdy shell, full of flavors from browning. Even though there’s no visible liquid on the plate, the pancakes feel saturated with butter and syrup, sweet but not too sweet. It was extremely rich and cloying. Yet, I wanted every last bit. Coffee helps.

Chez Ma Tante has been around for six years, so I’m late to the party, but this feels innovative and boundary-pushing without being gimmicky. I never would have imagined pancakes like these based on the ones I’ve eaten in the past. It takes knowledge and creativity to *invent* something like this. Hopefully this style of pancake fully takes off and appears across the globe.

The best brunch spot in NYC. Everything is delicious, we always get the pancakes, chips with aioli and Caesar salad. The pancakes are so unique, they are crispy on the outside and somehow completely soaked through with syrup and butter. Also worth a stop for dinner where you can cap off a lovely meal with their beautiful lemon tart.

Best brunch I’ve had in nyc! Food came out quickly. The pancakes were so rich and crispy and melted in our mouths. And the breakfast sandwich was so good and the bun was brioche and buttery and the cheese was melty and the patty was decadent. The quiche was delicious but not the star of the show, but is a quiche ever? I want to gatekeep this place

Contender for best pancakes in the city, certainly some of the most instagrammable. French canadian seems to be their jam. Their other dishes are pretty great too, i loved the pigs head terrine. Also had an interesting english muffin with smoked trout roe. Be prepared for a wait if you don’t have a reservation, most notably during weekend brunch hours.

Magnificent! :) that’s the word my husband said after we had the last bite of our brunch here. We keep coming back. It’s worth the trip from the city! The menu is unique, you won’t find these dishes anywhere else. Even the simplest of dishes like the sunny side eggs over the roasted tomatoes - mmmm it transported me somewhere to the farm where the cows mooing in the horizon. And of course the pancakes are just out of this world. Crispy enough yet soft. Can’t say enough about this place. Thank you🙏🏻

Chez ma tante is one of my favorite brunch places in northern brooklyn - and it's low key and away from the craziness of brunch in manhattan. the go to order is a bloody and a coffee, the cod/rice/celery salad dish, pancakes, and chips. that's the move.

Best pancakes I’ve ever had! Great seating area outside and very friendly waiters. I recommend the falafel with hummus, the straciatella and obviously, the pancakes 🥞

Absolutely delicious. The chips & aioli and the pancakes are my all-time favorites. We usually get a few plates to share and so far there hasn’t been anything we haven’t liked.

A corner spot in Green point. I went here for brunch. It’s a small spot. The indoor area has tables and seats at the bar. The outside has seating in the open sky or inclosed. They have a full bar and offer fresh squeezed juices. I tried Oysters that had pickled mushrooms with a small amount of mignonette and lemon Ricotta Pancakes. The fresh squeezed orange juice was refreshing.

A gem of a place! Easy going fine dining appealing to your sophisticated palate without neglecting your appetite. Phenomenal side dishes, excellent entrees, and delectable drinks. The chicken liver pate is special and a mainstay while the menu adapts and evolves to the seasons and imagination of the chef. Favorite place for a date night with my lady but also great place to bring good company. Enjoy
