Hsu's Hunan Yu

We got sesame chicken and bourbon chicken. Egg roll and crab rangoon were very good. I liked that the food wasn't overly sweet like other places.

Been ordering delivery for years. Great food and wonderful delivery team, always upbeat! Sweet and sour chicken!! The best!

This is my absolute favorite Chinese place! I order at least once a week from here and sometimes more! Service is fast and friendly and the food is amazing!

Only take out, which is a bummer their dining area is small but cozy. Hope ot opens up again! The food was really good. I played it safe on a first visit. Crab Rangoon was delicious and savory! Chicken fried rice was real fresh chicken, mostly meat very little fat. No grizzled meat! Very good!

Really great presentation, which isn’t always easy with take-out. They nailed the flavor and texture of Singapore noodle and general’s chicken tasted fresh and the chicken had the right amount of sauce and crunchy exterior. 10/10 would recommend!

This was my first visit and I found the location through a Google search. I did see one reviewer's comment that when they want Chinese, they only come here. I looked at the menu choices and saw that there were meals for vegans, and that convinced me to choose them. I ordered sesame tofu and a side of plain fried rice. It was prepared perfectly and was one of the best tasting dishes I've ever had. I ordered online but had to call in with some modifications because there was no option on the site to do so. That is my only issue, and it's such a simple thing to fix or work around. The prices seem to be pretty reasonable, especially compared to others in the area. The portion size is enough for 2 meals, which is good for having leftovers the next day. I will be back and this may be the only place that I'll go to for Chinese food. Yum.

We ordered for the first time last night. Food was delivered earlier than expected, everything was super hot and we weren’t missing any items. The food was delicious and we will definitely be ordering again!

I knew of HunanYu from my time in the area 40 years ago. I rediscovered it and was NOT disappointed. It isn't fancy, but it is delicious. I do the General Tso and my wife does the Beef w/broccoli. The veggies are never limp and overcooked, they are crisp and tasty.

Love their food..pot stickers, sesame balls shrimp, and chicken dishes,every dish is authentic.

They served us thru COVID, inside the walkway at the entrance so we want to shout out Thanks 😊 🙏

Now, that there is no COVID, we would like to be seated in their comfortable booths and table and chairs.

I have lived in Crestwood for 34 years and have only ordered Chinese food from Hsu Hunan Yu. Our family has been going here since I was very small and the food is delicious! Staff is also very kind!

I have been on a mission to try every Chinese food restaurant in St Louis and this is actually one of the best. I got the chicken lo mein and the chicken was fresh and tender and the noodles were firm the vegetables were fresh. Good quality food for the price! 5 stars for sure.

I moved here in 2018 and discovered this little place for takeout meals! I have been frequently, often weekly, enjoying their great lunches and dinners. Consistently good food with meals including soup, appetizer, fried rice and entrée. Freshly prepared, very reasonable!

Always great food. Never a problem with a pick up order. Friendly people and great service. If you like General Tso's Chicken, try theirs, really good!

My husband and I have tried at least 12 oriental restaurants since Hunan Royal closed. Most of them were adequate. We finally found the one that stacks up.
We will definitely be repeat customers.

Always hot and fresh food when delivered. Only issue I ever had was on several occasions I asked for fried rice with my combo meal and received steamed rice. But oh well still my favorite place in the area

Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend the Mongolian beef, chicken lo mein, and hot braised chicken. Can’t wait to order form here again.

I've watched three generations of family members run this restaurant. And it's the best in St Louis I've tried dozens of other places but nothing compares to this it's a small family-owned operation and they do it well I would recommend this to everybody sincerely Terry Lawson
