Our waiter (Ian) was a very nice young man and kept checking on us. The pizza was DELICIOUS! We THOROUGHLY ENJOYED listening to the Bluegrass band and watching the cloggers dance.(I even got to play Spoons with one of them!) I only wish there were more seating near the bandstand for when a table is finished eating. Especially since there were people waiting for a table.

Our favorite place to eat in Highlands, sometimes the wait is long depending on the night, we waiting over an hour this last time but well worth the wait, we put our name down then took a scenic drive while waiting for a text that our table was ready. Food was great as always, our waitress was the absolute best!

Food was delicious! Great service and atmosphere. For our appetizer we got the pretzels and cheese and the pretzel was nice and crispy and super soft on the inside. For our entrees we got the fish wrap with fries and the shame dog with chips! Everything was fresh and tasted super good. For dessert we got the cookie sandwich. Yum!! Drinks were good especially the spicy paloma. Definitely can't wait to come back!

We enjoyed a cool summer evening out on the patio. The pulled pork is the best I’ve ever had! The pork was the flavor of burnt ends (that’s a good thing if you’ve never had them!) with a rich, deeply sweet barbecue sauce. The fries were a lightly crisped batch of potato perfection. The pretzel and cheese appetizer was amazing…crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, not too chewy or heavy. Plenty of cheese for dipping. I’ve had plenty of pork bbq over the years from straight off the pig to “gourmet” and this one beats them all!

Probably the best place to eat while in the Highlands. Even though there was a wait, service was pretty quick once we were seated. Good selection of cocktails at a reasonable price and the burgers were great.

Ugly Dog has a great menu and is a super fun place to grab a drink and some awesome
Pub food. I can recommend any of the burgers, the loaded tots, and the wings. You can’t go wrong.

My wife is 80 years of age and I am 77. The hostess took us to the rear of the pub and asked us if we would care to sit on tall chairs at a tall table. I said we would prefer to sit at the standard height table. She acted put out about it, wiped the table down, seated us, and disappeared. We had to flag down Teddy who took care of us most excellently the rest of our time there. Everything else about our experience was top drawer! Excellent food, generous portions, and overall good value!!! Kudos to Teddy and the rest of the staff. It topped off our day trip up from Fountain Inn, SC!!!

Great upscale pub in Highlands - about 7 beers on tap and more in bottles; full bar (10 seats at the front bar). Had an excellent pizza. Good place to hang out.

One of my most favorite places to go eat in the Highlands.

Great bar with a couple TVs but very little seating at the bar but there are a few high tops around to to watch a game.

The main restaurant has several high tops and of course tables so there’s always other places to sit. The environment can get loud when they get packed. Every time I go they are very busy for both lunch and dinner so I suggest getting there early- usually lines waiting to get in. There’s also an outside patio with about 5 tables around the corner if you want to sit outside..

The menu has a lot of healthy options, the chef is excellent and has a great variety of different kinds of foods and salads that you would not expect in “pub” type restaurant.

The people are wonderfully nice and the food is delicious every time I go, my favorite is the blue cheese coleslaw it is amazing.

I’ve had several meals here this is just one of many, if you’re in town and you want an afternoon of good food this is it.

Kid friendly and great laid back environment. Parking on the street is limited so go early get a good spot or just walk from your hotel.

We came up to Highlands for the snow before it went away, and nothing but this restaurant was open on Sunday. Waiter was very kind and always checking up on us. We skipped breakfast, so I got a Rise and Shine burger with the egg on top with fries. Food came quite quick, and though the Burger wasn’t exactly cooked perfectly, it was amazing nonetheless, marking it as probably one of the best burgers I’ve had in awhile. The appetizer pretzels were pretty good as well. The restaurant walls were also covered with dog portraits that gave us a laugh to look at.

I usually don't like leaving any bad reviews, but both plates of tater tots were so overcooked that we couldn't eat them. We did enjoy the mushroom burger!!!

Came here expecting a normal pub experience but it is definitely a step above!
Our food was definitely a notch above what we were expecting! You could tell the bartender really knew what he was doing and the drinks were great! Atmosphere and live music were great! Highly recommend!

The service, food and drinks were great. The ambience was really warm and inviting. It filled up fast at 11:30 on a Sunday so I would expect it’s normally quite busy. The loaded Bloody Mary was awesome. Service was fast and our waitress was fantastic.

Ugly Dog is not just a pub; it's a culinary and libation revelation. The menu is a gastronomic masterpiece, offering a delightful fusion of flavors that elevate pub fare to gourmet heights. From mouthwatering appetizers to hearty mains, each dish is a testament to the chef's skill and creativity. The drink selection is equally impressive, with an extensive array of craft beers and cocktails that cater to every palate. The welcoming ambiance and friendly staff enhance the overall experience, making Ugly Dog a top-tier destination for those who appreciate exceptional food and drinks in a relaxed and inviting setting.
