Highlands Burrito

We had an early lunch here on a Weds. It was not crowded and the server talked us through the order process. Very similar to a Chipotle, but with a wider variety of meats including blackened fish. The decor was very nice with a hiker hangout, outdoorsy feel. Three different salsas are in bottles on the tables as condiments. Chips are not free but a serving basket is plentiful. We had burritos. They were large and tasty. We love Highlands. 😍

We have eaten here the last two times we visited Highlands. The prices are fair and reasonable for the amount of food you get. And the food is truly delicious. It is freshly prepared with care and their goal is for you to be happy and have a satisfied dining experience. It was great the first time and even better the next time. I had chicken soft tacos along with retried beans and rice and cheese dip. Great salsa and sauces too. We will definitely be back.

This place was so great. Quaint, fun, food and drinks are incredible.

Since I went almost two years ago, they’ve had some staffing issues and have temporarily closed. So sad. I really hope this place comes back.

It’s a great part of Highlands!

On my list for ALL TIME best margaritas anywhere! Great spot for casual lunch. We had the daily soup which was Baja chicken soup and the queso with chips! Awesome all the way around. A bonus was the great music, owners Playlist was unique upbeat and just a little out of the ordinary. Highly recommend!

Best Mexican in town.

They have new owners and a new name in the past few years. Much is exactly the same. However, the pork is definitely better! They smoke the pork inhouse. It is a wonderful balance of rich pork and a light touch of clean smoke. Great with the brown hot sauce.

Be sure to try the 3 house made hot sauces!

The soup here is also very good! Guacamole, @last visit was a bit too salty for my taste but very good and balanced with some extra lime.

Anytime I am in town we like to get in here for lunch. They have a full selection of beers, Mexican soda, and house made margaritas.

We were just passing through the town and needed something to eat and we saw the burrito sign. The guacamole here is amazing - one of the best I’ve had. All of the ingredients are so fresh and high quality. The chicken is perfect, their chips are great, I can’t say enough about this place. I’m so glad we stumbled upon it. I highly recommend it to locals, anyone passing through or visiting for a weekend.

Fresh food, reasonable prices, authentic flavors. Highly recommend when visiting Highlands - it was our best meal there! The various sauces were very good. Shrimp taco portion was generous. Hoping to be back soon!

We had two bean burritos and a shrimp/steak quesadilla to eat, and a couple margaritas to wash them down. Easily the best food we had in Highlands and we ate out at least twice a day for 3 days. Try the secret sauce you have to ask for, but only a wee bit if you’re a wimp for heat. Can’t wait to go back!!

Enjoyed a great lunch while visiting the area- food was served up hot and fresh with friendly service. I appreciated their low key vibe, reasonable prices and nice sized portions... no fuss!

The place was super clean and staff + other guests all adhered to keeping masks on inside with respect to Covid-19. We found seats outside and ate there.

Took my family to highlands burrito a few days ago, we had a great experience the food was delicious and fresh and they make it right in front of you. If you are an ice tea drinker rejoice! Their tea was fresh and delicious which is important to me. I talked to the new owner who I believe just took over a few months ago and he’s doing a great job. He strives for quality and was very welcoming

Excellent fresh food and super friendly staff greet you when you enter Highlands burrito. Everything that I have tried from here has been excellent. The meats have incredible flavor and the vegetables seem to be very fresh. Definitely worth stopping here for a quick lunch.

While every other restaurant in Highlands has a wait or is short staffed, this spot is a gem on the mountain. Three ladies behind the counter making your meal ‘Subway’ style - place your order, add your protein, choose your toppings, add a beverage (let me suggest the margaritas), pay and eat! If you want a sit down, catered to restaurant experience, there are plenty of other options in this town. Just bring your wallet and more importantly your patience as the staffing shortage is a real issue here. But if you just want some good, fresh food at a reasonable price, this is your place. We’ll be back!

Wonderful service! Amazing food, I love being able to order online. My food always comes out fast. It’s so convenient and the prices are great. The owner is so friendly and helpful. 10/10 would recommend

This place is great. The food is great and the staff is friendly. I love that they are open for dinner hours some nights too. It is a great alternative to the more expensive restaurants in town. They are definitely worth the visit!

My wife and I love to eat at this place. Every time we visit Highlands we stop in there. I plan my arrival time so that it's when they're open because they close at 3:00 and they're not open on Sunday.

My family and I stopped to get some tacos and burritos, we loved them! And customer service was amazing, friendly and kind people; my experience was so nice that I ordered some guacamole to go on our road trip. Highly recommend!
