A nice place to grab a bite of that good old-fashioned soul food that Granny used to make!! The staff is warm, pleasant, and attentive! You can't go wrong here!!! ❤

I love this place! The staff is so kind and friendly. I didn’t know exactly what to order and pulled into the drive thru and the man that was there was so polite and helpful and told me everything that was on the menu and had a great attitude.

First time eating here but I can assure you it will not be my last. The vegetables were seasoned perfectly and pork chops were very tender and delicious!

Can't say enough about this place I actually took my whole crew and I ate 2 plates I had spots and a plate of catfish all of the veggies are amazing. Best fish I ever ate. Make you feel like you are ate grandma's having Sunday dinner.

I've been here a few times and the food is always good. If you order fried chicken they cook it on the spot so it will take longer. If you get a chance stop at Jessie Bell yourself and try the food. The prices are really good also. I don't think you will be disappointed.

What a treat. By far some of the best southern soul food I have ever had. Fried chicken, cooked to perfection. Black eyed pease, delicious. Best yams I have ever eaten and a dessert to die for. I travel a lot for work and love running into gems like this. I will be back.

I was in town for a few hours and was looking for BBQ. This popped up in google. It was mid afternoon so there was no wait. They only have BBQ on certain days so I got the fried chicken, mac n cheese and yams. I thought it was delicious. I like my mac n cheese firm how this was. sure if you like spice it doesn't have much but it suited me perfectly. The yams were sweet and had a good brown sugar taste to them. To me the chicken was fabulous. Extremely tender, was cooked to order, probably cause it was mid afternoon and I'm sure they didn't have any left after lunch. So nice and fresh. I had a big dinner planned so only ate a few bites of each item and took the rest home for a 2nd helping the next day. Will definitely stop back by.

I have to say I was impressed with the quality of the food. My meat was fried to order, macaroni and cheese was delicious, my herbed potatoes were good too but they were cold. The hush puppies were ok to say they weren't homemade. Overall, a great experience and meal. The people are friendly and greet you with a smile. It feels like home

Wow.🤯 That's the best food I've had in a loooooong time. Baked chicken, Mac n' cheese and yams. I was literally moaning the whole time I ate it. Can't believe how cheap it was too. Plus there was a beautifully pleasant woman at the register. This places food is truly 5 stars.👍

This is the perfect example of some back home cooking, right here. Jessie Bells had the atmosphere, the attitude, and the genuine feeling of a soul food restaurant. The man that served me had the "Everyone's welcome" attitude and he meant it. He wants you to eat the best food on Vernon avenue, which they provide time and time again. EAT HERE! Even if you have lived here and you are skeptical, eat here. If you're passing through and wanna stop for a quick meal with soul and a kick, eat here. If you have never even heard of soul food, eat here. This place is amazing.

Jessie Bell's the place to go for old fashioned Southern food. They cook chicken, fish and pork chops in a deep fryer and their cabbage has a bit of a kick to it. Everytime I go I get their macaroni and cheese. So good. I get there about once a week. Great job, Jesse!!!

I was impressed with the cleanliness and attention to maintaining restrictions due to COVID-19 (safe distancing, masks, and gloves).
My food was very good and was served piping hot. The macaroni and cheese was truly homemade. It was quite like having dinner at Grandmother's house.

This is an absolute gem of a restaurant and Kinston should be proud to house them. The staff is lovely and the menu is packed with authentic soul food. These guys have basically replaced my grandma's cooking since she passed away.

The food was excellent. Portion size was excellent. The people were so very nice. Would love to go again!
