My wife and I selected the B&B over a hotel on a trip to Hilton Head Island. The Inn provided warm hospitality with wonderful accommodations. We were amazed at the many many antiques throughout this home built in 1904. Most of the antiques were made possible by the two Inn Keepers, Mike and Mark. Greeted by Mike at the door and a quick tour of our accommodations.
We did not have warm cookies waiting for us, but treated to an early evening surprise🍷The old fashion King Size bed was very comfortable. Amazed at the accumulation of many books throughout the 4 bedroom home. If you were a fast reader, you would be in a reader’s paradise with many books by renowned authors. I was intrigued by a book on Marilyn Monroe, a childhood fascination here, but left it behind.
A delightful early morning breakfast prepared by Mark while enjoying the fellowship with another couple and the Hosts. Enjoyed meeting their two four legged furry friends. A big and warm “thank you” to Mike and Mark who opens you to the past with all the antiques. A must stop if traveling the I95 corridor going South or North. Love and Peace from Craig and Kim

My husband and I loved it here. The owner was very proud of the place and loved to talk, so if you are the sort who wants to keep to yourself, it’s not for you. If you are the sort who loves company, finds interest in learning, likes antiques and eclectic collections, and loves to read (they have practically every book), it’s for you! It would be great as a place to stay for a week or so, or for a bridal party to rent!

The Columns definitely deserves five stars! As a much needed getaway for my mom's birthday, I gifted her a weekend at The Columns and she invited me to stay with her on her last night. From our warm greeting by Michael upon arrival to our mouthwatering breakfast on our last morning, we have nothing but great things to share about our visit. Our host made us feel comfortable and pampered the entire stay. The house was immaculately decorated with beautiful furniture and amazing artwork. In addition to beauty of the home, our host is such a wonderful conversationalist and it was a pleasure to talk with him throughout our stay. Michael's attention to the smallest details made us feel so special. The Columns is a breathtaking, historical home and we highly recommend staying with Michael and Angel at The Columns.

We stayed at this wonderful bed and breakfast this weekend in the heart of historic Dillon, SC. The house is beautifully decorated with antiques the owner has collected and has just the perfect amount of historical charm. The owner, Mr. Real, has a way of making you feel at home in his home. The room was great, the breakfast was delicious and the hospitality shown through out our visit made for a perfect weekend away,

If I could give Michael and his wonderful Bed & Breakfast TEN STARS I certainly would! My husband and I came here for our anniversary and relished each and every moment in this historic home. We sifted through endless piles of hardback books and looked at the classic art hanging everywhere. The time spent here was relaxing and we felt refreshed. This place was truly "eye candy" for your soul. What a marvelous host Michael was. I want to go back at Christmas to see all the special magical decorations. Thank you!

The Column’s Bed and Breakfast is the most gorgeous home in South Carolina. Michael has spared no detail. He ensures you are comfortable and have everything you need. His collection of antique furniture and decor is stunning. This is my favorite place to stay on the East Coast. The energy in this home is welcoming and they really make you feel special. I wish I lived closer to this gem so I could stay more often. You will be so glad you chose the column's for your stay in SC. Oh and the breakfast is 5 star. He always makes sure I have freshest fruits when I’m in town. I just can’t say enough great things about Michael and his wonderful historic home!!

Michael Real has created a beautiful B&B Inn and is a wonderful host. We arrived late afternoon on a Saturday. Michael met us and gave a brief tour of the home. The home and decor are beautiful. Very well maintained. Each room has its own bath and temperature controls. We were served a nice white wine. Access in/out of the house is keyed and parking is right on the property. Rooms are very spacious and there is a central balcony, as well as, the beautiful wrap around porch. Breakfast was incredible - yogurt with fruit and granola to start, juice and coffee, and a beautiful disk of poached eggs, croissant, hollandaise sauce, asparagus, tomatoes, and fruit.
If you are traveling through NC/SC on 95, definitely consider staying at the Columns Inn!

It is a top notch operation-gorgeous, impeccably clean, wonderful attention to detail..from the welcome wine on the porch to the amazing breakfast before we departed. This lovely place is a gift and I will cherish coming here always and can't wait to return.

What a beautiful place! This lovely house provided me the opportunity to step back in time. I felt I was at the home of my dear grandparents, with the wonderful azaleas, pink and white dogwood, and the peacefulness of the small-town South.

All furnishings in the house -- fabulous antiques -- have been carefully chosen to make for an interior that's almost magical. If you get the chance to spend some time in Ben Bernancke's hometown at the Columns, by all means, take it!

This is one of the loveliest Inns I have ever had the pleasure of staying at! The owner is delightful and has impeccable taste as evidenced by the decor and beautiful antiques and furnishing throughout the house. The delicious breakfast was a perfect start to a busy day! Hope to have a chance to visit again sometime soon.

My wife and I stayed here for one night while heading down to Florida. I would recommend this place to anyone. The room was excellent. The bed was clean, comfortable, and huge. We wish we had more time to enjoy it. We will be staying here again on our next trip to Florida.

I can't say enough about this beautiful B&B. You feel a sense of elegance when you walk in and this continues throughout the mansion.Due to Michael's (owner) knowledge of art, it has a European flair to it. The food was wonderful, the hospitality amazing. You owe it to yourself to stay at the Columns!
