Love this place! Came for Sunday brunch and didn’t have to wait at all (bonus) for some delicious food! Great prices too. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and I had the tostadas. Don’t pass on the mason jar mimosas - half a bottle of champagne, splash of OJ for $5! Super cute ambiance and right in Bishops Arts district. New favorite spot.

My uncle recommended this awesome location. Its near the dart trolley stop, so you can avoid the hassle of parking. Once you walk in the the servers are nice. We went on a Sunday, so we ordered from the brunch menu which was very reasonable. I had the Texas Starters. Yummy!!! I think I was more in love with the trash fries!!! Yes, a cook got the fries so right! I loved the mimosas. Also, don't forget to make a wish on the wishing tree. I loved everything about the restaurant and plan to go back.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! A favorite of our friends for brunch. It's never a wait to be seated since it's a bit separate to the rest of Bishop. On a friend's birthday we came in with a party of 12 and only waited about 5 minutes. Great service every time.
If you enjoy mimosas I definitely recommend getting one here since each one is 1/2 a bottle of champagne and a splash of O.J. at 5 bucks a pop!
I love that they have Frito Pie here and so delicious! It's a childhood favorite and every time I have it I'm taken back to the good ol' days. Mom's Meatloaf Sandwhich is also a great choice. This place has actually won an award for best use of spam so if you've never had it this is the place to try it!
There's a lot of construction for new apartments next door so I know this place is going to be a major popular restaurant in future. Come in for a bite before the crowd. :)

This place was dead when we went, which we thought was weird for a Saturday evening.
Anyway, the food was good though!! And service was good too. The ambiance inside was also nice.

Delicious food. Great service. I’m surprised I haven’t been sooner. The 5.00 mimosa is strong!!! It’s a full little mason jar. I was impressed! Glad I went, I devoured my food and I’ll be back

Wow. That's the first thing that came to mind when we tried The Local Oak. The food is great, service was fast and friendly. It is a little pricey but for a few dollars more than other chain restaurants you can get high quality food. I recommend the brisket biscuits. There is no child's menu so keep that in mind when bringing small children. My daughter enjoyed the green eggs (scrambled with spinach) and spam. The seasonal fruit is served in a Cinnamon bu hello style tortilla bowl and leaves you wanting more! There was no wait when we came at 11:00 on a Sunday.

Great place. Amazing $5 mimosas in Mason Jars on the weekend. Good food. Never a wait. Unpretentious and comfortable. Nice people.

You, yes you reading this review. You NEED to get the Bucket of Love. It is something you need in your life. Try it with the chocolate milk stout. We are definitely coming back!

I've picked a different entre for every brunch so far and have enjoyed each exquisite meal. Great atmosphere and a you can watch the Sunday afternoon NFL games too.

This place is a hidden gem, in the "OC" (Oak Cliff). The apricot old fashion was fabulous. Had meatloaf and it was great but it was gone before I could take the pic. Lol.

They had a great playlist playing!

Not sure how I have managed to spend so much time in Bishop Arts and never been here until last night. Everyone was super friendly and service was great. I love that they have a drink special every day of the week! I had the burger and fries were were amazing! Very pleased with the experience. Great people, showed a lot of love to my dog, and great food. Def recommend!

$3.50 wells during happy hour and OH MY GOSH I want this Bucket of Love- Candied Bacon served to me on my deathbed!

Delicious food great drinks wonderful staff! The bucket of love was amazing. Kaytryn the bar tender was amazing. She made me and my party feel like old friends ( this was our first time here). I love the blend of people that were enjoying the delicious brunch menu. I will definitely return.

This restaurant is wonderful. They have excellent service and incredibly delicious food and so easy to work with in planning a luncheon.
In May, I had a group of people coming to town for a ceremony at the National cemetery but we wanted to meet for lunch beforehand. There would be 26 people in total. On just 2 days notice, The Local Oak was able to accommodate us and serve us quickly so we were on time (actually a little early for the ceremony).
The restaurant opened at noon and we needed to leave by no later than 1:20pm. In planning the lunch with the manager, we determined that the best way to meet our schedule was for our group to sit at tables of 6-8 people, to place each order separately (which meant the food was delivered as it was ready, not all at one time), and to order from the lunch specials.
Well that worked beautifully. The food was awesome and delivered quickly. We ordered and were finished with our meal by 1:10 with no need to hurry. The setup was excellent for visiting while waiting for our meals. Also, the bar was open for us and the Wild Orchid was wonderful. Two of my sisters that were there, own restaurants and both were impressed by the excellent service and delicious food.
The ceremony at the cemetery was interment of my husband who died at the beginning of the year, so it started as a stressful day.
Thank you Local Oak for eliminating my stress and just making the day perfect. I live about 40-50 minutes from your restaurant, but I plan to make the drive every few months. I really want to try your 1/2 burger, but the Cobb salad was awesome.

We had a very large party and still received excellent, very attentive service. The food was comfort food, unique, good flavors, and priced fairly. Great drinks from the bar. Candied bacon app was awesome, turkey burger also very good. We enjoyed our visit and will be back.

Love this place. If you are in this neck of the woods definitely swing by. Good local beers on tap. Several options and the food was good too. Definitely an a new American menu. Vegetarian options available and the atmosphere is great.
Service was very personable although do expect this locally run place not to be the fastest. That's okay though. Stay and enjoy your time here.
