Home on Bishop

Years ago Home On Bishop became a regular shopping destination for my wife and I. We found Home while strolling through the Arts District after a Cafe Brazil breakfast. Owners Ken and Cody were preparing for the shop's initial opening, and, we were impressed by the fresh ideas, shapes and colors of their women's jewelry, purses and clothing. Great fitting dresses and tops for my wife. Modest prices for me. Home provides Affordable Luxury indeed!

I had the pleasure of shopping at Home on Bishop today and I have to say that Renee made my experience truly wonderful. She went above and beyond to assist me in finding the perfect outfit and even suggested some adorable dresses for my baby shower that complemented my style. Renee's kindness and expertise were truly appreciated and made me feel like a valued customer. I also have to mention that Home on Bishop has the cutest original clothes and jewelry that I've seen in a long time. Thank you, Renee, for making my shopping experience so enjoyable. I will definitely be back soon!

I read several reviews of places on Bishop, and I was curious about Home on Bishop. So glad I chose to check it out. It was a wonderful experience. Every corner of the store was another chance to fall in love furniture, jewelry and clothing,
if I lived here, this place would be my happy place. .

This is the only store where I consistently find unique jewelry, clothing, accessories, and home decor at! I love shopping here because of the unique items and superb customer service. Today I found a wonderful shirt dress, two incredible necklaces, along with a great pair of earrings.

Cody who is the owner knows his craft. His ability to walk in to a room and transforming it is amazing. Love his vision! I highly recommend him for any interior design service and furniture.

Love this little shop and the staff! I always find way too much! Such cute and unique items. I know I won’t find the same thing on everyone I meet! It’s my go to in Bishop Arts!! The staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating. They definitely have an eye for what will look good—accentuating the positive features and playing down the negative ones. They always recommend accessories that really pull an outfit together. Love shopping here!!

Great place.

I was with girlfriends crawling thru Bishop Arts, and we happen to go into this store. Cute stuf. The short owner began to very aggressively show us tops, committing Sales Overkill. He asked us where we usually shop. One friend said she doesnt shop if she doesnt have to. I said I typically shop online. Mr. Short then said "Here's how I feel about that (as if we cared). If you're gonna shop online, just dont bother coming in my store." I said "I can take a hint" and walked straight out the door. What an idiot. Nobody else was in his store except us. His store is in a novelty district. His stuff is cute, but really looked like stuff in every other shop on the block. This guy and his shop can drift off into oblivion for all I care. I encourage everyone to go in and not buy anything. Enjoy his air conditioning and his $15k a month rent shop and then waltz right out the door. He doesn't deserve your hard earned money.

Update: 10.31.18: this guy, Cody Ellison, called me at my work this morning and basically threatened to have this review reported to my employer as hate speech for body shaming him. Bless his small little black heart. If he didn't want negative reviews about his business, he should treat customers better. He had the audacity to defend his comment because of his "feels", it "hurts" him when people say they shop online. Maybe they shop online to avoid business owners like him. Grow up, Cody.

Rude employee. I went in w/ my mother browsing for holiday decor. The male employee kept pushing for my mom to buy clothes she didn't want nor like. I turned to him, smiled, and giggled "oh we're fine !" He looked at me and his face dropped, and rudely said "I'm just doing my job". Then stomped away. I grabbed my mom and immediately left. I'm sorry but I did not say that in a mean way, and if he couldn't take a hint that we just wanted to look and we'll ask if we have questions then he needs to learn how to be a kinder retail employee. Aggressively pushing product is not the way to go. Will avoid.
