Tsunami Restaurant & Sushi Bar - Tsunami on 9th

Well I have now been to all locations of Tsunami in Utah! It is my favorite sushi place! Everything is wonderful and consistently wonderful and if you come to the ninth and ninth location ask for Kalieigh to be your server! I had the purple haze to drink, and had the delicious scallops and a tiger roll and a sunrise roll. And I finished it with the banana ice cream they make in house which was heavenly!

Wonderful spot to get delicious sushi. Skip the salmon rangoon - was a miss. All the sushi was wonderful and fresh. P.D. and Jenny were the clear favorites. Enjoyed the Executive roll as well. Wait staff were attentive and cocktails were good. I’ll be back the next time I’m in town for sure!

We received friendly and attentive service from our server Charlie. We tried five sushi rolls and they were all excellent! Our favorite was the Jenny roll. Everything tasted fresh. Food presentation was good, especially the mussel shooters. Overall a good experience for our anniversary.

Had a reservation here and it was SO worth it! Our waiter was so kind and attentive and made suggestions for what we could get. We got the Don Juan roll (my favorite), the Jenny (too lemony for me), and the Fire Breathing Roll (really good!) along with dessert at the end. We ended up getting the chocolate torte with vanilla ice cream and it did NOT disappoint! Happy to have tried this place. Pricy but worth it!

Sorry half of it was gone by the time I remembered to take a photo. First time I went to tsunami was for a bad date 😔 this second time was for a good date 🫡. Staff is friendly and the sushi is great. My boyfriend doesn’t like sushi unless there’s no vegetables and if it’s deep fried. So we got a lot of the fried rolls and no avocado. Which made me sad 😔. It’s okay though still tastes great without veggies. Definitely am coming here again.

Sat at the sushi bar and had the best experience ever. Luis was great and the rolls were amazing! Highly recommend.

This was our first visit to Tsunami and I must say it was so so good. And actually very reasonably priced!! We could have very easily spent $30-$40 more for what we got at other locations. Everything we had tasted delicious and fresh. They have a Jalapeño Teriyaki sauce that is incredible, it comes with the Shrimp Poppers but I ended up dipping some sushi in it as well. The only thing I would complain about was that the service was just okay, our server refilled our drinks once during the hour visit.. and I have seen on here there are lots of people that have complained about their service so they weren’t wrong.

I would highly recommend the Don Juan roll or the Cococabana roll for you heat lovers.

Great experience here. They take reservations. Sushi options were excellent and were very good. Even had non-sushi options for a couple folks in our party that didn’t like fish. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

We were celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary. Delicious food and our waiter was so helpful!

First let me tell you the patio is perfect. Bliss. Was it 94°F when I was there - yes. We’re there shade providing umbrellas - also yes. Was Mikey literally the best server- also yes again.

Food came out quick. Was absolutely great. This experience was fantastic! Enjoyed it from first to last minute. Wholly recommend tsunami.

Also bonus - you almost have whale views from the patio.

Yummy sushi! The place is nicely decorated! Tons of things to choose from the menu. The restaurant specials were great. I highly recommend the Executive and the Shrimp appetizer. The passion fruit crepes was so good! If you’re craving Japanese food then this is the place to go. I definitely recommend this place.

Tried this place for the first time. It was delicious! We ordered 3x rolls and the salmon wontons. All were delicious and high quality. Rolls were Vegas, Jennie, and Shrimp Tempura I believe.

One of my favorite sushi spots! Service is great, nice atmosphere and amazing food. Favorite items to order: executive roll, sunshine roll, chicken wings, nigiri, spicy edamame, Mussell shooters, etc.

Always get the coconut glory for dessert!!

Thein was my sushi chef at the bar, and he did a great job!! My server was also wonderful, but I didn't catch her name. She had a septum piercing and a nostril stud. Both of them were perfect, and my rolls were amazing! I always recommend the Jenny, it always stands out to me as my favorite.

I’ve always had great sushi at tsunami. I can’t remember all the names of the rolls we got but they were all so tasty.

We had an appetizer with beef asparagus and a teriyaki sauce. It’s by far my favorite thing at tsunami.

First time here. Absolutely amazing! We had a dishes and both were amazing. Staffs are very friendly too. Just a FYI, they don’t open on Sundays and Mondays.

A Salt Lake City classic now. The Sushi chef's here know their regulars and know their favorite cuts. Always fresh and always excellent service at the bar top.

Definitely recommend "The Executive Roll" (ordered three to start).

This place is chic, kinda close to neighbors on seating in some areas, the server was very friendly and attentive. The food was amazing!! We got the steak teriyaki and tempura shrimp and omg all of it was amazing!! Chefs kiss!! The only downside is not alot of parking accesible.

I was so pleasantly surprised when I tried tsunami on 9th. The sushi was so flavorful and everything seemed well balanced. Even the fried items were well done and didn’t leave an oily taste in the mouth. This is now our go-to sushi spot!

The waitress was nice and thoughtful when the original rolls we wanted were sold out. We spent more time waiting than we did eating them because they were so delicious!
