Wonder local spot!! Love that they have pictures with the menu. The burger is amazing. Quality of the meat is great. Their onion rings are yummy as well as their seasoned fries. Manager came by and checked on us and was so personable. They even give teachers a discount! We will be back.

I have no experience Chicago street food, but my wife does after spending a month and a half up there for work. She has had a craving for an Italian beef for years now, and finally I decided we were going to find her one in Fort Worth. Tex's came highly recommended in the Fort Worth Foodies group on Facebook, so we took a leap of faith. I'm so glad we did!! We've been here twice now, and it's been amazing both times. I've had the Italian beef with and without the sausage, but the sausage takes it to a whole different level. I told my coworker (who is from Chicago) about this place and he has visited frequently now. He did mention they aren't completely familiar with the Chicago language for wet/dry, but he just kind of laughed it off and I wouldn't know either way. He loves it, and so do we!

Went there for lunch. I had the Reuben sandwich with onion rings. Both were very good. Onion rings were done perfectly, and the right amount of crunch to them. The sandwich was awesome. My wife had the Greek salad, and she really enjoyed it. Great atmosphere and polite workers. Would definitely recommend this place.

Great food. The owner is usually on-site and frequently greets guests and wants your feedback for new comers. All the burgers are great. Our family loves the patty melt, Philly cheese steak, grilled chicken sandwich, chicken fried steak dinner, grilled chicken dinner, onion rings and fries. The home sauce is SO good. Try it with fries. Desserts are not homemade, but high quality and yummy.

Way better than fast food for sure. This was the best tasting burger I have had in years hands down!!

They appreciate that you carry a weapon plus the burger is quite tasty without being greasy. The fries and onion rings were flavorful without the oily aftertaste. Well done

Really nice down home restaurant the owner was extremely nice and warm. He greeted our table and the other patrons. This was my first time but certainly not my last. Food was homemade, very tasty, huge portions I needed a doggy bag. I felt better to feed my kids chicken tenders from here at least I know it's real chicken and made properly. The pricing was fair. I tipped the cashier because she was so warm and welcoming as well. Menu has a wide variety. Give them a try you won't be disappointed. Good food and spectacular customer service!

Was greeted immediately while walking through the door. It wasn’t real loud. I had my newborn baby and he slept the whole time. The food was great. My husband likes the Greek salad. I ate the chicken fried chicken dinner. Portion sizes are great and it’s decently priced.

My husband and I were in town for the weekend and ran across this gem! First let me start by saying that Rhonda is amazing. She is the wonderful nice lady working the register. She was so helpful and sweet. We had the Gyro plate and the patty melt. Both were amazing. The owner George was also great! Came around to everyone to check on how things were. Such a wonderful establishment. Don’t pass up on this place!

We can’t give this place enough stars! Fantastic food! Don’t let the exterior or name fool you. The food pictures don’t do justice. George is a Greek man from Chicago that has lived in Texas a couple decades…and the food reflects it all.
The Gyro is some of the best meat we have had. That’s right, great gyros from a place with “Tex” in the name.
We took the owners suggestion and got the Golden Burger that is piled with fresh pastrami. Amazing blend of flavors. My mouth wanted more.

We highly recommend Tex’s Star Grill. No matter your food-mood the fresh, made to order delights will appease your appetite and excite your taste buds.

What an amazing place, how can anyone choose a franchise drive through over this!? After spending a semester in Germany this is the best place local I’ve found for good döner kebab. They also have amazing Chicago dogs and the beef kebab is to die for. George is an owner that truly cares and this is about the ONLY place to grab a quick, quality bite anywhere nearby. Give it a try you won’t regret it

This place is just fantastic! I've been missing a good Italian beef sandwich since I left Chicago. The one here is top notch. The Chicago style hot dog is perfect as well as they use Vienna Beef dogs. Try the fringe, you won't be disappointed.

Our 1st visit, this place is all about customer service & great food. Their chicken fried steak with Rice Pilaf was exceptional as was their chicken kabob. It's obvious they are not wasting their dollars & cents on decor but it might be time to consider sprucing up the place so it shows as clean & free from so many germs. But they are cleaner than most.

Been wanting to try this place, finally did tonight! I got the pastrami burger with fries; gf got the Gyro combo with mashed potatoes . Burger and Gyro were great! Sides were good, not great. Also got some Baklava- very good flavor but getting a bit stale/dried out. All in all, we liked it a lot - staff was very friendly. A LOT of choices - burgers, hot dogs, fried foods, sandwiches - the list goes on. Pretty busy too for dinner for a place that seems like lunch would be their busy time.

We've been dining here at Tex's Star Grill for several years. My folks found this diner and it's one of our must haves places to eat whenever we're in town for a visit. The food is always delicious, and freshly made to order. The steak kabobs and onion rings are scrumptious! I've had nearly everything on their menu and haven't ever been disappointed. The staff are courteous and friendly. The dining room is clean and the selfservice drink station and condiments bar are well stocked and organized.
There's usually someone working the dining room cleaning tables and stocking the selfservice counters. The owner is visible, talking to customers and checking on the accuracy of meals ordered. He's a friendly gentleman.
Definitely a place to choose to eat a delicious meal.

Rhonda was amazing at explaining all the different options. On her recommendation we went with the gyro dinner and a patty melt. Both were delicious. George the owner was the nicest guy. Highly recommend!

If I could give a higher score, I would.

I went and placed a very large to-go order. The owner greeted me upon entry. Although I fumbled through ordering making multiple changes to every combo ordered.

The cashier easily and patiently managed entering the order. Explained any extra charges for upgrade and was very gracious in her demeanor. She was very knowledgeable of the menu items and made great suggestion along the way.

I was getting the drinks when the owner offered to get a box for the drinks and food so it was easier to transport home.

As I then waited for my food, watching the grill team hammer through multiple orders. It was really quite impressive to watch. Great teamwork!

Before I knew it my large to-go order was done quickly. Surely they missed something?

Everything (even though complex) was as ordered, cooked perfectly and amazingly packaged separately by entree/sides/condiments and desserts.

I thought they were gonna tell me to order out back. Lol But, George (Owner) made me feel welcomed. And he was very interactive with everyone. 👍🏾👍🏾

Tex's Star Grill is a gem! The food is beyond fantastic; I've never tasted onion rings and fries this delicious. The owner's personal touch, checking on customers, adds a special touch. The entire staff is incredibly friendly. A must-visit for a top-notch dining experience!

This place is awesome! 1st, it's CLEAN! No bugs or flies at all. 2nd the staff was super friendly and helpful. I always appreciate it when I ask for a recommendation they actually have something to recommend! Get the Golden burger combo. Pastrami on a hamburger!
