It's very quiet when you enter, but you are greeted immediately. There was holiday music right up front to fit the season. I knew what I needed to purchase and where they were located, so I didn't need any assistance. I have gone to other music stores to purchase reeds before, but none are as friendly or helpful as here. I will gladly drive the 30-45 minutes to purchase my musical needs. Plus, they have the largest variety of any places I have shopped at.

This music store offers much more supplies compared to others in the surrounding area. They have the option to repair/clean your instrument, schedule private lessons, and even ship something from another store to theirs if you ask for it.
The staff were also friendly and greeted us on the way in. As Quinlan & Fabish works with a lot of school districts, it may be "crowded" around certain times of the year (even when it is busy, it is not packed.)

I couldn’t find a piece of music at two of the biggest stores in the US and this store found it in less than a day.

I left a negative review last week but as of today (1-25-2021) it was deleted. I called the company last week and spoke with "Jude" it was because of her I went from 1 star nasty review to 5 star exceptional customer service. She spoke with the owner and I was able to get a Violin, Bow and Case for compensation of what I paid over the past 6 years (Free of charge including shipping). This kind gesture needs to be recognize for if it wasn't for her determination to help the customer, I would never had purchase anything from this company again.

Always helpful and knowledgeable. I have purchased 2 instruments from them and I love the protection plan they offer. I’ve been able to keep both working at their best because they are very thorough with their inspections and specific on what they did for you.

I can not rave enough on what a pleasure it was to go there for the first time and receive such outstanding customer service. The young man Patrick who assisted me was friendly pleasure to work with, he even suffered through my anecdotes about my mom forcing me to play violin. I am from a small town and our music store was very hands on and was leery of a large store. Patrick took the time answer my questions and once again great service I would recommend this store to anyone looking for an instrument. He is rather tall so make him stay sitting down or neck pain

First, I bought 2 trumpets there about 30 years ago, having had an excellent experience each time. I wanted my daughter to have the same experience, so we took her there to look at a trumpet for her. I explained to the gentleman who helped us what we were interested in. He took us to a private rehearsal / lesson room, brought 5 different trumpets for my daughter to try, and apologized that they didn't have more. He brought several of the types we had requested as well as a brand I wasn't familiar with, and made sure we were comfortable. He brought bottles of water and checked on us periodically, never making us feel hurried, just well cared for. If we hadn't found what we wanted, he was very willing to arrange an appointment for us to return when he could have many more from their other stores. It turned out that my daughter found "the one", which we purchased.

Tom Fox helped us choose a new trumpet for our daughter. He took the time to explain pros/cons of different instruments and had her test each before carefully narrowing down our selection. We spent about 1.5 hours and never felt rushed. Great service and great selection.

I had an excellent experience with Quinlan & Fabish this morning. Without checking their hours, I arrived two hours before opening. Going home, turning around and coming back wasn't going to save much time. So I hunkered down in the parking lot and decided to wait. A few minutes later a man came out and asked what I needed. I needed a saxophone lyre. He opened the store, sold me a lyre and got me on my way.

The people I met there treated me as a valuable customer, not someone who was putting them out, which I did. I will definitely go back. They sold me a lyre, they gained a customer.

My son will be majoring in Music Performance next year in his Freshman year in college. We had some questions about purchasing a Tenor Sax. The young lady that assisted us was very helpful and gave my son great information. Thank You Freda.

Quinlan & Fabish is a wonderful company from the owners to the staff. I have been dealing with this company since 2011 at the Burr Ridge location. They truly care about the customer's that use them for all thier musical needs. I would highly recommend them.

Came here to kill time, ended up finding a method book since I'm picking up upright bass again. Super helpful with helping me find a book. This place is more orchestra and band oriented, which means I can find stuff as a viola and bass player. They have plenty of sheet music too.
