Norfolk International Airport

Without a doubt I would say “ORF” is well maintained Mid size Airport. Convenient Car rental within premises without taking shuttle bus. Two terminal A / B with different airlines. Central area where it’s splits between concourse A and B are wide enough with bunch of restaurants to eat, power outlets are throughout the gate in Airports so you don’t have to worry about your phone or laptop battery low when you can charge there.

I was reading another review and they noted that ORF is "well maintained". No joke! I grew up here and the two primary structures have been here for at least 50 years. The terminals don't show their age at all. Now I fly in from out of town. I've never had trouble getting in or out of the airport. The lines are always reasonable, but travelers should consider that this may change during holidays considering the number of military personnel and students (NSU, ODU) that could be coming and going. If you're looking for a spot to sit and work before you go to your gate, there's plenty of lounge seating in the center atrium of the main terminal before you go through security. But overall, I'd consider this airport "easy".

One note. Even though the airport is well maintained, it lacks some of the things that you'll find in other airports like moving sidewalks. Along with that, the layout of the terminals is pretty spread out. So if you aren't up for a lot of walking, make arrangements. To be fair, it's a lot of walking for the size of the terminal, but you'd certain walk as much in airports like DCA, CLT, PHL, or LGA.

I loved it. We have been using this airport for decades and have watched it grow from a local airport, to a regional hub, to an international airport. They've done a great job on the development and it's one of the best in class anywhere in my opinion. The parking arrangements are also superb. Very highly recommended.

Great airport!
Fast service that gets the job done. If I ever need to travel to Virginia again I will use this airport. It was clean, well organized, and all of the staff members were friendly. I highly recommend it.

Although an international airport, it is small and easy to get around!! I made it through security for a night flight within 6 minutes! 🤯

The signs inside and outside the airport make it easy to get around. Ground transportation has very little traffic which makes getting dropped off or picked up smooth as well!!

Norfolk International Airport is a great airport to fly out of or into. It is easy to navigate small airport but has no people walkers. Luggage is very easy, and normally, just either walk to your car in the long term or your ride waits outside. The lot attendant never really harass you, so that's great 👍.

It doesn't get much better than going out of town for a few days and coming back to a fully charged truck. Thank you ORF for being so forward thinking and putting in charging stations.

I love this little airport. Early morning flights can get dicey (like show up 90 min early) but anything after that first waves of planes leaves is usually very quick. Today I drove up to the airport with less than an hour before my flight left and I parked, checked in at the kiosk to change my seat, made it through TSA and still waited 15 min before they started boarding.
Only complaint might be the long walk to baggage claim (if you check bags) but it helps keep traffic for people coming and going in two different areas (single level airport)

Everyone was nice. Airport is quaint and well maintained and easy to navigate. Security was painless.
Good bar/pub by low A gates. Nice change of pace from the many bustling larger airports I frequent.

Easy to fly out of and into. Parking is convenient and priced reasonably.
I am excited to see the new developments that are planned.
Only criticism is that there needs to be a more visible welcome to our Military Families.

Most beautiful airport I've seen and I've seen 6 😇 nice carpets here and there and I didn't have a line at all going through security

Missed my first leg, but was able to get rescheduled very easily. No issues with checking in. Really nice Southwest agent helped me bring my bags in while parked in drop off lane. Cops were huddling inside and never saw unattended car for 8-10 mins while I checked in. Normally, they are like vultures and give you grief about stopping. Was able to wrap up and park in garage to make it back to my flight on time.

Nice size airport, not to big, not to busy, very easy to get around and read signs, staff very helpful and pleasant. Decor very well kept, clean and fresh, I felt very safe traveling solo.

Clean, quiet, quick and clean TSA (especially when you have to take off shoes, it's nice to have a clean floor). Before going through security there is a sign showing all the cafés and restaurants on the other side so one can make an informed decison on whether to consume something landside or after security. Really great customer experience!

Beautiful airport. It was clean, even the restrooms. Stores were well equipped and organized. Plenty of comfortable places to set while waiting for your airplane ✈. It could improve in more choices of restaurants and souvenirs shops.

Beautiful, fantastically clean airport! And I have been to many. I love thé skylights. The bathrooms were clean and up todate. The spaciousness of the airport waiting lobby outside TSA security and the green plants and the natural lighting automatically reduced some stress. Of course when I passed through the airport it was before 8 am and not crowded so things might be different if it had been packed with stressed travelers and long security lines.

I have been through Norfolk International Airport twice this year alone and each one of my experiences have been positive encounters. From the check-in staff for the two different airlines, to the patient and hardworking TSA employees, and the flight crews, everyone provided friendly, expedient, courteous, and knowledgeable customer service.

Not a big airport, so it is easy to find check-in counter at every airline.
Baggage claim area is also easy to find where your baggage is.

All of the staffs of the airport are very kindly and always help the tourists. Very nice.

The facility, especially security check area renovation at concourse is completed so there is beautiful and spacy area.
It takes not so long time to go through security check.
And renovation of the gate area renovation is also completed.

This airport is surrounded with beautiful, rich nature area.
A botanical garden is also located near airport.

Well maintained, well staffed, the security line moves pretty quickly, overall a nice airport!

Really outdated and not the friendliest of Staff, atleast at the Military bar and grill. Other than that, amazing for travel, empty, quiet, fastest lines ever, 👌🏾 A+
