Hunan Chinese Restaurant

The food was fresh and delicious! I took my mother out for lunch. We typically go to the China buffet. But decided to give Hunan's a try, it had been awhile since we visited. We got the puu puu platter and the lunch buffet. They bring out a cup of soup. Your choice. And your choice of beverage. The service was awesome, friendly and very helpful. The atmosphere is pleasant and clean.

Food was great, Waitress was new but doing her best. Definitely better then it was the last time I was here 4 years ago. Food is fresh and clean and you can tell by the look and the taste. Definitely coming here more often.

Good food and service! Nice selection on the buffet, food was tasty and hot! Only ice water and hot tea offered with lunch. Waitress was attentive and friendly. $20 for 2 buffet lunches.

It's our go to place for dining in Alpena. While not always fresh, any dish on the buffet will be replaced if asked. All dishes tried on the menu have been excellent. They serve the best egg drop soup around.

First time here. Nice dining experience. Ordered the buffet. A bit smaller than other places, but worth the trip. Great food. Traditional menu. A bit pricey but the food is good! Owner, Jimmy, is great!

Nice family owned restaurant. Been a staple in Alpena for years. I normally don't order buffet due to too many people hovering over the food and I don't know how long the foods been out. This place kept a smaller amt in each section so it was regularly being refilled with fresh food. They offered a nice variety and included desert on the buffet. I generally don't have desert after dinner but the soft chewy chucky chocolate chip cookie was perfect! Give them a try!!

Always a great place to eat. Love the buffet. They are very curious during this covid spell. Owner doesn't try to pack people on. He has extra tables blocked off to keep at 50%capacity. The owner stays away from your table as you order. I appreciate his restaurant and him as the owner to maintain the guidelines during covid. Only place in my town I feel safe eating at during these times.

Some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. Was staying at the hotel next door and got dinner here. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. My fried rice and lo mein were amazing. The flavor was excellent in both dishes. Also, which I really loved, the noodles and rice were not greasy at all like most places I’ve been to so that was great. I would highly recommend Jimmy’s hunan Chinese.

The best Chinese food I've ever had anywhere. Favs are sesame chicken, egg foo young, garlic chicken. Egg rolls are amazing. Jimmy the owner delivers himself! And when we dine in, he makes the most amazing carvings out of fruit and vegetables. Every plate is a work of art. Love this place!

Hunan's, is absolutely the best Chinese restaurant. There has never been another, that can stand up to their standards. I haven't found yet, a better restaurant. From state to state, Hunan's is in a league of their own. No one has even come close to their delicious dinners. So if you're vacationing, don't miss out on the best food, from state to state. Yes, they are that good, they are the Best.

Good selection on the buffet and food all had good flavor. Included a selection of desserts as well. It was about $15. Per person without drinks.
