The Garrison

First time dining at The Garrison tonight as a Mothers Day/Date Night event. From the moment we drove across the scenic waterway and turned in we just knew we were in for a treat. The building is historic and beautifully restored. You're greeted by the host (who was fantastic) upon entering. It truly is two things at once, intimate and spacious. Our waitress was phenomenal with just the right amount of attentiveness. What else do they have you might ask...well crafted drinks, great music, and an impressive seasonal menu full of classic items delicately prepared. Compliments to the chef and entire team. You're capturing the magic so many places are seeking. We'll done, Garrison.

This was the best meal I've had in months. Every dish was executed perfectly. Very creative takes on simple sets of ingredients.

What an incredible meal by such a talented team!! I thought I was just going to "have dinner" but this was truly a culinary experience that far exceeded any expectations that I had. The combination of flavors was unique and absolutely amazing. Paired with the friendliest of staff and an overall chill vibe this place is a gem and I can't wait to come back!!

Everything from the drinks to the desserts were creatively and tastefully prepared. The service was friendly and attentive! Favorites among the group...Mushrooms, scallop crudo, rabbit fettuccine, Maine mussels, gingerbread tres leches.

Food was superb. Atmosphere inviting, service right on point. Mushroom dish was out of this world. Same for the carrots and lentils. Also the short rib pasta. So, everything we ordered.

Amazing experience at the Garrison for NYE dinner. Everything was exquisite. Chef Hayes is a true artist.

Lovely atmosphere with fun crowd and attentive staff. Beautiful presentation of intricate and unusual taste sensations. All courses were inventive and delicious!

The mushrooms/yolk small plate is simple, magical perfection - a sign of a truly talented Chef and kitchen. Everything we ordered from the Plates for Ukraine menu was deeply delicious - the scallops crudo with coffee crumble being the other standout. Best bar service. Gorgeous space. Inspiring experience created by a compassionate Chef currently serving with WCK on the Ukrainian border🙌🏻

EXCELLENT food with unique flavor combinations—not just another restaurant for sure!! Service takes a while to get going but then it is excellent. Very friendly staff—literally everyone. They all truly believe in the food and are very excited about it, which makes it all even more special. No one needs just another restaurant—-you want something tasty and memorable, and this, kids, is the place. It isn’t cheap, and some of the portions are small, (tapas style)so just be prepared….but it is quality.

This is a small restaurant with a limited menu but the food was beyond delicious. I can't recommend the Garrison enough. Best is you make a reservation. You can thank me later.

I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. It’s hard to find something on the menu that is not world-class (we tried!). From the drinks, to the small plates, to the mains, to the desserts, everything was top notch. The service and atmosphere are off the charts too. Highly recommend!!

Simply incredible. Food was outstanding. Server was awesome. The mushroom small plate was unbelievable.

Amazing food. Best I have had since moving to Maine. Thoughtful combinations and wonderful local ingredients. Ambience is intimate and felt as if I was sitting somewhere in Europe. My new favorite place !

Where to begin! We had the most fabulous dinner for my husband's birthday last evening! We'd made reservations to sit at the bar and the seating did not disappoint - comfortable and romantic. While my husband was in the bathroom and I told the bartender it was his birthday. She turned around and when he got back handed us two champagne glasses! I was as surprised as he was. We savored a first order of three amazing tapas plates: The out of this world mushrooms, so delicately salted, the cheese plate with the softest tasty cheese, the flavorful flakey baked crackers, the amazing olives with their honey coating (who knew how delicious that combination is?) and the unusual delicious salad, then after we slowly enjoyed these we had the Israeli couscous, the breaded seafood that was so delicate and the tuna, all delicious and so delicately cooked and flavored. We shared and and savored each delightful taste and texture and wished for a Garrison Cookbook ! Thank you for this wonderful evening!

Very unique. They were graciously accommodating to my vegetarian style diet. Food is gorgeously presented. I appreciate the smaller plates and exquisite flavors. Ultra creative and delicious!

Ps. Please bring back the scallop crudo - one of my favorite dishes ever!

I don’t even know where to start about The Garrison. Whether it be the food, the drinks, or the service, this place is top notch. The menu is exciting and perfectly sized. Just enough variety but small enough that you can tell they put a lot of thought in each dish. The flavors added to each plate is as unique as it is delicious. The drink selection was phenomenal as well. There’s no gimmicks on the menu, it honors the local specialties and takes it further than that, clearly a testament to the chef and his team. If the local mushrooms or Branzino are on the menu when you go, GET THEM. You will not be sorry. 10/10

I cannot remember the last time I've had such a perfect dining experience. Phenomenal food, the service lovely and warm, the ambiance exquisite. It's an underrated gem and we are coming back for more. Not sure why there isn't food that even comes close to this in Boston.

I've been to The Garrison twice, once for brunch and recently for dinner. I love everything about this place- the atmosphere, the service, the drinks, and the food. A smallish menu that should have something to suit everyone (v and gf included.) The food is excellent and you don't leave hungry. Definitely a go-to for a special occasion or just treating yourself to a really nice dinner out.

An original! Splendid meal combinations and presentations in midst of unique, rustic, artsy cavern overlooking Royal River. Bar is very stylish and open kitchen...deserved feature. Knowledgeable and pleasant staff capped a wonderful visit! Must try!
