Happy Hippie Lane Maine

I loved my stay at happy hippie lane! Everyone who was staying there was absolutely amazing and gave a real family feel. I even joked about an older gentleman being my travel grandpa. Cary was an amazing host and made delicious breakfast each morning for the guests! My room was clean and comfortable and provided me with an oasis escape away when I needed some space. The grounds around the property have gorgeous trails and lots of neat plants to be surrounded by! My dog and I had an amazing time exploring all the outdoors that the area had to offer! In the evening, we got cozy around a fireplace and shared travel stories with great people from all around the world. The property had lots of games to play too, so there was always something fun to do! As a solo female traveler, I always felt safe and cared for. At the end of my stay, I gifted Cary a sunflower sprout, which she grew in her garden and then sent a picture at the end of the summer when it had bloomed! She has always been so warm and kind, and I would love to go back and visit! 10/10 recommend to everyone!

This place is so fun and welcoming! Cary is like your cool aunt who might be magical, lives in a playful mansion, and loves having visitors. (She is a wonderful host!) We got to stay in the Bus, which was a super fun place to sleep. I hope to come back with my spouse and kids. I liked the cleanliness and friendly notes about how to keep the space great for everyone. Breakfast was delicious and so much fun with the other guests.

One of the great things Cary does is call guests ahead of time to find out their plans and needs for their trip.

We have traveled and stayed all over and this place is on top of our list for most unique and fun. We tell our friends about it all the time. We will definitely be coming back. We stayed on the bus and throughly enjoyed ourselves. There were props to enhance our experience and get some great pictures. Everywhere you turned there was something quirky and new to look at. The grounds were fun with a cool little hippie vibe. This place is all about kicking back and enjoying the outdoors. What I didn’t expect was the comfort level we felt with all of the other guests and the owner Cary. At night we all came together around the campfire and visited and got to know each other. We were from all walks of life but around that campfire we were new friends. Cary the owner joined us and we laughed and laughed.
When we travel we seek out the unusual and fun and this place is all of that. Life is too short not to push yourself out of your comfort zone and have new adventures, Cary delivers with her cute little get away. Can’t wait to go back! Thank you Cary for providing us with an amazing experience.

Stayed here for the end of Winter... Cary was awesome and friendly! Her pup loved to play! We got in some fun card games at night upstairs and chatted about adventures we all had and want to have!
The room was comfortable, an easy place to relax and unwind from a long work week! And I was there long enough to see the Ospreys return to the Island!
If you're going to be in the area... It's such a nicer way to stay over a stuffy hotel!

We had a wonderful stay at Cary's place! It's a really unique, safe, and special place nestled in the woods of beautiful Westport Island. We felt instantly welcomed and at home, like staying at a friend's house.

The room itself is private and comfy, and there's a shared full bathroom across the hall. There's tons of space outdoors to relax, from the hammocks to the porch to the firepit area. Bonus that you get to hang out with the sweetest cat and dog that live there, too.

In the morning Cary cooked up a delicious breakfast that included homemade blueberry muffins and a big frittata with fresh veggies from her garden!

The thing I enjoyed most though was chatting around the campfire with other guests staying there as well as with Cary herself. Places like Cary's are valuable and serve as an antidote to our modern world that can so often be filled with disconnection and isolation from those around us. Take a chance and try something new!

This is a gem. We stayed at the Happy Hippie Lane in July 2022. Cary has been travelling around the world and hosting people herself for years. She has some cool campfire stories. Her place is comfortable and peaceful.

Overall, this was a great memory and we highly recommend staying at the Happy Hippie Lane. Thank you, Cary!

I love happy hippie lane maine! It is a very colorful and welcoming place and the host is very friendly. When she greeted us she showed so much interest in what we wanted to see and do. The hike she sent us on was awesome. Breakfast was delicious and eating on the porch was really serene and yet busy with the morning birds and squirrels. We loved it. She took my son and me on a bike ride and it was really fun. I highly recommend this unique place. Who wants a sterile hotel room or a lonely cabin when you can find great privacy here and so have good conversation at the fire. She might even rustle up a lobster for you from one of the local lobster fishermen. This was a great all around experience. Don't miss it!

I would highly recommend this peaceful oasis.
My daughter and I stayed in the tiny house along with my dog. It was clean and wonderfully decorated . The breakfasts were delicious as well as the lobster dinner. There is a well equipped kitchen there as well if you want to cook for yourself. The property was beautiful. I enjoyed sitting in the hammocks or talking with other guests around the campfire as we toasted marshmallows.
The accommodations are unique. In addition to the tiny house, their was a renovated school bus, a teepee, a cabin as well
as rooms in the main log cabin .. something for everyone . The host, Cary, really cared about her guests and took pride in the peaceful atmosphere that she had created . I will definitely be returning.

Our family had a fantastic experience staying with Carey in her whimsical oasis. We felt at home as soon as we drove up the lane and into this colorful and peaceful place. Staying on the bus was fun and we had a blast trying on all the different hats and masks that decorated the interior. Carey was an incredible host, with helpful information and amazing breakfasts. She always had an interesting tale to tell about her experiences, and her enthusiasm for life is too deep not to leave a lasting impression. Happy Hippie Lane was the perfect home base to explore Westport Island and the surrounding area. We found many fun things to do on and off the beaten path. After a long day, we enjoyed talking to the other guests and sitting around the camp fire. So thankful we found this place for our vacation this year!

My husband and I stayed here twice this summer and enjoyed the hospitality. Cary is a welcoming host who makes a great breakfast! The atmosphere is relaxed, with the cat and dog on station to greet guests. We enjoyed watching the birds at the feeders on the porch while eating breakfast, and cooking dinner on the grill in the Yard. One night Carrie hosted a lobster dinner in the back yard and invited guests to participate - that was a real treat! It led to fun conversations by the fire pit at night. Westport Island is off the beaten path, so Happy Hippie Lane feels like a real oasis, but it's not far from Route 1 and all that midcoast Maine has to offer.

My coddiwomple crew surprised me with a stay in Carrie's hippie bus and it was so much more!! The community, the kinship, the lobster! We loved looking Around the raised garden beds and watching Carrie's create dinner from them. Long walks, so much yo do nearby, and the wonderful breakfasts on her deck made our anniversary trip in Maine once in a lifetime..... we will return soon!!

Sisters and I stayed here this past weekend! We absolutely loved the experience. Traveling as four women we felt safe and welcomed. Everyone staying there was super friendly and loved how they were coming from different areas. The vibe is immaculate. Carry is freindly, sweet and accommodating! It felt like a family vacation over all! She made delicious breakfast as well! An extra star for the cutest animals ❤ We will be back sooner than expected

Hubby and I on our way to our ME vacation, needed a place for one night! Since it rained all day while we were driving, we figured we’d just stay in. Happy Hippy Lane had a vacancy and we spent the night in the main house, downstairs. My husband made a fire in the pit and Cary and John hung out with us and the other guests. What a great vibe, such a special place. Cary has multiple lady slipper patches. I just new we’d love the place. We are already planning our next trip to Maine with a stay at this adorable bed and breakfast.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Cary’s for the first time in the summer of 2019 after finding her place online. We loved it so much we reached out and came back this year in June for vacation and had an even better time! The environment and the energy here is amazing and beyond peaceful. In addition to the lovely set up, Cary also was the best host! She kept in contact with us the whole time f we needed anything and included me in some gardening she was doing which was very delightful and fun. She also made a hearty and cute breakfast for us every morning upon request which I absolutely loved and wish I could have the recipe for her “to-die-for” blueberry muffins!! The scenery is exquisite and we were able to take a bunch of pictures around the property. Cary also recommended things to do around Westport island. We ended up kayaking nearby and zip lining! The rest of the time we just relaxed on the property with her cute dog who also gave us a warm welcome. I definitely did not want to leave as our week went by too fast and I plan to come back with extended family this summer as I cant wait to show off this awesome place and brag that I’ve been here time and time again:)

Our stay at Happy Hippie Lane was totally awesome. Although we only were able to stay two nights, Cary was a wonderful and accessible host for the whole duration of our stay. Coming from CT, we did not know much about the area and wanted suggestions of places to go and things to experience. Cary was knowledgeable about the area and was able to guide us towards great food, outdoor views, and shopping. The property itself was an inviting and communal atmosphere because of the many options of where to spend the night. We stayed in the tiny house which was a little distanced from the main cabin (and bathroom) but this was not an issue. The rustic and woodsy environment of the whole area makes for a fun, unique getaway experience.

Staying at Happy Hippie Lane was more than what I was expecting. I went on my first solo trip and Cary gave me the confidence to feel safe and comfortable. She also recommended amazing places to see. I stayed in the Teepee which is the most private space of them all and I got the experience of feeling like I was camping in the woods but sleeping on an actual bed. My highlights of the stay were listening to the rain at night, hiking to my Teepee, Cary’s breakfast, positive energy, cute and friendly pets, meeting nice people and definitely feeling peace and enjoying the campground. When I go back to Maine I will definitely stay at Happy Hippie Lane again. I give this Airbnb 10 stars for the incredible experience. All I have left to say is thank you for everything Cary.

My family stayed in the bus at Happy Hippy Lane Maine and had THE BEST time! The bus was comfy and full of funky fun stuff, perfect for us and our 3 year old. The shared indoor and outdoor spaces were beautiful and welcoming and Cary's home cooking of local and home grown foods was more than we could have asked for. Thank you so much! Highly recommend ❤

This was our second visit to Happy Hippie Lane and due to extenuating circumstances, it was a godsend. Cary showed flexibility, knowledge, and kindheartedness concerning our problems . The place is so interesting and she remembered us from our first visit in 2017. This is definitely not like a boring, sterile hotel so check it out and you will never forget it and like us, you will want to return.

Loved our stay at Happy Hippie Lane in late September. Cary made sure we had all we needed. After two busy days exploring the area, coming back to a fire in the fire pit and night of stargazing was just what we wanted. Thanks Cary!

What an amazing place! Cary is an incredible host. I met great people hanging by the fire pit and everyone there was awesome to be around. Cary also had some killer breakfast items. I only wish I could have stayed longer. I will be going back.
