Been coming here every summer since I was a kid. I can't recommend it enough. It's the perfect way to unplug, relax, and reconnect.

Come expecting rustic resort. Cabins are old (but 100% usable) and amenities are simply but it is a nice get away.

We have been at Lorien a dozen or so times over the last twenty years. This year we stayed in cabin 31, the week before Labor Day. Only two of the kids were able to come with my wife and I. My daughters and I enjoyed playing shuffleboard. My wife and I went on a short row boat ride. The beach is beautiful and so are the people. The Alpena area has so many things to see. It is a short trip to St Anne's church for Mass.

Family resort where kids grow up and then bring their kids.

Used to really enjoy going there. Sadly this last trip there were so many obnoxious, completely unsupervised children that I'm unsure I want to go back.
