Hunan

My girlfriend and both enjoyed our experience here! We both agreed that this is our new place we will go to when we want Chinese food! I got the Empress chicken and she got the Hunan chicken. It was so good! The crab Rangoons are the best we’ve had in a long time, they had so much flavor! The only thing is, we wish they labeled the food! It was great, we can’t wait to go back!

The man at front desk was so nice. He gave us our food in our car and ran to give us spoons after we forgot them 10/10 (:

Food is good though i question the sanitation of the establishment. Boxes & chaos cover every square foot of space. Place appears dirty. No indoor dining. Take out only since COVID.
Employees can be rather curt and out right condescending towards customers. Try FU HAU on Munson.

It's take-out only still, but the food is good. I like that you can see the menu online (huge selection) and you can order online. The honey chicken was great. White rice was great. I didn't care for the fried rice as much, but overall it was definitely good and worth it. 5/5 stars. It is far from my house, but I'll drive far to come here vs. other places.

Everything we had was absolutely delicious. We ordered sesame chicken, honey chicken (both came with fried rice and egg roll), chicken lo mein and crab rangoons. We loved it all and would 100% order again if we were in the area.

UberEats screwed up my order, and Hunan provided another order for free. Very grateful for the good service and good food.

The best place for take out! Food is on point never disappointed!

Being from the east coast I can definitely recommend this place. It reminded me of a spot that I would order from in North Jersey! And one of the workers there happens to be from Brooklyn, NYC not sure if any of the cooks are but if so they definitely know how to make Chinese food here

Updating my review. 4 years ago the food here was terrible when I ordered. The last few months I have tried it again and has became one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Traverse City. The food is fantastic and also super hot even on door dash delivery. Keep up the good work

Hunan has the best Chinese food in Traverse City. We’ve been coming here for years and while we miss the buffet option, takeout works too! 😊

I've been going to this place all of my life. The buffet is always affordable, and the food is always out of this world. I'm not sure what other folks are talking about with negative reviews; I've never experienced high prices or bad food ever, and I've been there over 50 times in the last 20 years. Always a safe choice in my opinion.

Yummy place! Hard to find good Chinese in town, and everyone is flocking over to the new Chinese buffet that opened up down the street by KMart. That's a mistake, they have a large menu, but it's all so bland. Hunan is much better, super tasty, haven't had a bad meal here yet. Staff is always friendly, all around good place to stop into for lunch.

We have an abundance of Chinese restraunts in traverse city now a days and humans is one I personally always return too. I can always trust David ( the owner ) and the staff to always meet my needs and insure that the buffet is at high quality. I've never gotten sick eating here and the sushi and regular menu items are above par to me. Keep.up the good work!

The Hunan is a relaxed, pleasant Chinese restaurant with a nice buffet. This is our first choice for Chinese food based solely on the buffet which has items we especially like. We have never ordered from the menu so can't give an opinion about their other dishes. The buffet, including sushi, isn't exceptionally large, so whether you like the Hunan or not may depend on whether their buffet selection, which rarely changes, has what you like. If you haven't been there, it's definitely worth a try. Buffet lunch with tea for two is just under $20.

Greeted at the door with a smile. Food was decent( Did the buffet because it's been forever). Service was good. Best bang for your buck.

Btw the sushi is not premade. I have seen it handmade multiple times there. I don't know if it's good though, I Will not eat that stuff but I hear it's pretty good.
