Lindey's Prime Steak House

There is a reason Lindey’s has been in business since 1958! They serve delicious quality food in a cozy setting. No frills just great steak and potatoes. Hubby went to college close by and hasn’t eaten here for 45 years. He remembered it fondly and it didn’t disappoint. It was as good as he remembered! The only thing that had changed was the price. We appreciated the option to split our meal for only $13.50. This included all you can eat potatoes; and a 14 ounce perfectly done steak! The original owner’s son met us at the door and made us feel welcome! Make reservations. We visited on a Monday night and it was packed!

If your familiar with the film the Greenbook, I think this place is one of the few in MN that is still alive to this date. and ny bf and I tried it bcoz of that. and it didnt disappoint. the steak is excellent! they have a full bar as well that makes cocktails and all the staff is friendly with great customer service! this place is iconic. I hope it’ll last forever.

Simplistic. They don't make you think too hard. Few options. All amazing. They know what they excel at and they stick to that. Can't knock 'em. There's a reason they've been around for as long as they have. It was bustling on a weeknight and likely always is. Prices are a steal for the quality and service.

Lindey’s is absolutely iconic and holds a special place in my heart. This place is old school and so reliably awesome. It makes me feel like I’m in a Wisconsin supper club. The Old Fashioneds are on point, the portions are huge, and every single menu item is incredible. I think about the potatoes at least weekly. This is one of the few places that will truly serve you a rare steak when you ask for one (but will still confirm with you that you know what you’re getting into - it’s definitely rare).

Very happy with Lindy’s!! Went to celebrate our birthdays and it was a great experience! Simple menu but delicious! The food was excellently prepared and abundant. Lemonade was tasty! Very pleased with the service and food! Would return again for special occasion!

The best steak place I've been to here in Minnesota! Such an awesome local feel, great staff, place is so reminiscent of the history it has.
The presentation of the steak was pretty great!! I didn't expect it to be brought on platter and cut in front of me on the sizzling plate. The seasoning and tenderness was perfect, cooked just right...the potatoes that came with it were unexpected (I was thinking hashbrowns in traditional sense) and was a delight, the seasoning complimented the steak and was still so different. Loved it! Everything about my experience was amazing. There were 2 other tables there (I went late, near closing time) and heading their conversations about how amazing the food was, was too funny and awesome to hear!
The salad dressing, homemade, was flavourful and good though not my usual preference, it was a joy to try! I would like croutons next time, haha. And the garlic bread, so good! Hats off to this amazing gem of a steakhouse!

For a place to be around as long as they have and continue to wow customers daily is absolutely stellar on them! Keep up the amazing work. I'll be back for sure!!

Great old school steak house. The simplicity of the menu and the quality of the steaks and service is why Lindey's has been in business for 50+ years! Gotta get the Lindey's Special Sirloin for two and dish of mushrooms to compliment it. The steak roast is perfectly cooked to order and very tender. Make sure to utilize the juices on the plate and a little shake of the garlic and pepper on the tables to taste!👍

Lindsey's is a long time Twin Cities classic steakhouse, but I recently went for the first time. I liked the classic old steakhouse atmosphere. The menu is really short and basic, and it is up on signs rather than printed on paper, as there are just four main choices. Three are different cuts of steak, cooked to order, and all are 14 ounces: they also offer shrimp. I had the Lindsey's Special Sirloin which was very tender and excellent. The hash brown potato side was also very good. Some in our group had dessert and everyone liked their food. I will definitely be going back!

We had a great time. Loved the old school atmosphere and styling. Service was great. Dinner was fabulous. Given how thick the cuts are, recommend going one notch more done than normal. We'll be back for sure.

Great family friendly steakhouse! Jenny immediately recognized our kids were hangry and put in kids cheeseburgers right away, brought us bread, and saved the night. She was attentive and so great. Our steak was fantastic but huge! We would split next time. The potatoes and the mushrooms were excellent. Such a fun experience.

It’s very simple: you can order sirloin or sirloin. If you want more choices, look at the drink menu.

I really love this place. I always order the Chop Steak as it's the best hamburger steak I've ever had. the menu is super simple and its such a unique way to approach things... keep it simple! Bread is bomb too :)

We continue to make it a point to get here annually, at least. The service is great, the drinks are great, the meat is great! Such a fun place to spend a nice evening.

I have drove past Lindy's for years,and this was my 1st time here!! It made me feel like I was up North at a cabin!! The Atmosphere was Amazing,The food was So Delicious,The owners and waiters were So friendly and made sure our drinks were always filled!! I had a Very memorable night,and would definitely recommend this restaurant, and will come again!! ❤

Lindsey's Special is definitely amazing! The chopped steak is also amazing! Worth every penny. The portions are definitely sharable especially if you get the mushrooms...(highly recommend!!! Wish they had sautéed onions you could order) Warning their bread is good and phenomenal if you dip in the steak juices.

This was the first time i experienced service being marginal. Wasn't very friendly or outgoing like we witnessed with all the other staff & servers. Attitudeis everything. Hopefully she has better days a head of her.

A good place for a great steak. And good filling sides. You won't go away hungry. I always seem to bring leftovers home.

Classic Supper Club type setting, RIGHT in the middle of the city. The simplest of menu/options, using the highest quality ingredients. All being served by a family [literally & figuratively] who understands hospitality and serving others - even the Matriarch of the family PERSONALLY carving each steak table-side.

What a throwback - a delicious throwback. They keep the menu simple (a blessing for the indecisives like me) but done to perfection. More food than I could ever dream of eating in a sitting, but superb quality as well. Best priced steakhouse in the area but doesn’t lack a bit in quality. I was even a big fan of the giant platter of mushrooms ordered as well. You will walk out beyond full, with leftovers, and reminiscing on how old fashioned the place is.

Showed up on the bikes with 6 people on a busy Monday with no reservation. They made us feel welcome and sat us at the bar for some drinks until they could get a table for us. Definitely a must stop Minnesotan style restaurant.

Quality steak, generous portions, and a comforting atmosphere. This isn't your white tablecloth steakhouse. This is a country tavern, a cozy and dimly lit lodge that does one thing very well. A simple menu, bottomless potatoes and bread, and unfussy service. Great character and a room full of happy dinners from all walks of life.
