Bicycle Chain

I brought my bike in to have the hydraulic disc brakes looked at. Another bike shop had recently "serviced" my brakes, but the braking power didn't feel right after a couple visits for "adjustments" to the brakes, so I brought the bike into Bicycle Chain for a second opinion. I talked to Matt, who explained to me what the problems might be and that he would take a look at it. He seemed extremely knowledgeable and helpful, so I left the bike with him to troubleshoot the issue. He emailed me later that day to let me know that the bike was ready to go. I thought that was amazing given that my "regular" shop usually took a few days to fix something, and that was after I had made an appointment days in advance. When I came by the shop to pick up my bike, Matt explained to me what he did to fix the issue. I tested the brakes and was very happy and amazed by the results. The brakes felt better than they did when I bought the bike 3 years ago!! I VERY HIGHLY recommend the Bicycle Chain for service. Matt and the rest of the staff are extremely knowledgeable and VERY helpful. Bicycle Chain will definitely be my "go-to" shop in the future. I don't care that it's twice as far away. I commute 26 miles to work each day. When I need something done/fixed it is done with the highest degree of excellence. They never do more or try to talk me into things I don’t need. We have bought 2 bikes from Bicycle Chain in the last 18 months. I highly recommend them!!

Great local shop. They have changed out my summer tires for studded winter tires several times. As well as put on different handle bars and such. Solid good work, great advice and affordable. My bike is not one they sell, but they do good work on it.

Bicycle chain supports Boy Scouts of America! They came to tune up and do a safety check on troop 9082’s bicycles before a scout bike trip. I think it is great that they are involved with the community in such a great way. You have my business when I need help with my families bicycles. Thank you!

I arrived there this morning around 10:30 am and before I brought my bike inside I inquired if my cruiser classic single speed could have the tires and tube replaced. The two gentleman behind the counter said yes no problem. I went out to my car and got my bike and brought it in. Matt took one look at it and immediately got the tire I needed. He asked if I had a few minutes to wait because he could do it right away. I said yes and waited only a few minutes. Thank you Matt for the excellent service. He had my tire and tube replaced in less than 15 minutes.
Now, a huge thank you to Dave the owner who was just coming to work and saw me struggling to get the bike back into my car. He asked if I needed help and I said yes. Between the two of us we managed to get it in. Thank you Matt and Dave for the excellent customer service. I will certainly be coming back.

I have been a customer of this bike shop for 23 years and it is because the owner, Dave, and his crew at the Bicycle Chain are all about good value and service.

Today Dave gave me what in my opinion was his finest hour when he helped me create and install a crate-solution for me to carry my little 15 pound dog with me on my bike. It wasn't an obvious or easy task, but in end I was extremely satisfied that he came up with a very good solution. This was not a one-off service event. As year-round Bicycle commuter for more than 10 years, Dave and his team kept me rolling and sming through all the seasons. Thanks Dave! See you again soon!

Getting back into biking after a hiatus of about 35 years back when I was riding BMX. I picked up a bargain bike a couple months ago and have blown out the back tire twice. The guys at the shop we're helping me with the tire replacement and were great in every aspect. They helped explain how much things have changed over the years, explained what all the measurements really meant, and got me set up with a new tire/tube at a very reasonable price. Their goal was clearly to get me back on the road as opposed to just trying to get me to buy the most expensive part. Very much appreciated! I will be back for all my biking needs. If you're looking for a bike shop, I recommend giving Bicycle Chain a try!

Didn't buy a bike, but the sales people were very accommodating. I test rode 3 bikes and even though I had money burning a hole in my wallet, I didn't find what I wanted.

Alas, great service. I politely test rode the 3 bikes like they weren't mine and the only negative thing I have to say is that Specialized doesn't have a mountain bike for me.

I was turned on to Dave and Bicycle Chain by a respected colleague here in Saint Cloud. While there are a few local shops here and one that I historically would bring my business, none of them are a Specialized dealer (except Eric's but I avoid that place like the plague). I know that referral business is important to small independent shops so I gave it a go.

There was a delay from Specialized on the bike I chose, but I was kept fully informed on the status and they had it assembled and ready promptly after it's arrival. Fantastic customer service both in and out of the store, they've gained a new repeat customer. If you're looking to get onto a Specialized (you should be), they have more knowledge about their past and current lineup than any other shop I've visited.

10/10 would recommend to anyone.

Partner & I just bought a couple entry level mountain bikes (never too early, right?). Matt was super nice & knowledgeable, answering all of our questions and concerns, and was patient & encouraging while we did several test rides. We're so lucky to have this LBS close by. Couldn't be happier!!

I highly recommend bicycle chain. I do not think you will find a more knowledgeable and professional staff anywhere. They were very patient and helped us make the right bicycle decision and we are very happy with our purchase. After sales support has been terrific as well.

Absolutely love this little local bike shop. I bought my bike there 11 years ago and it's still working great. Brought this bike and another one in for maintenance today, and all they needed was a chain on one and a tube on the other. They were very upfront about what was needed and didn't try to sell me all kinds of stuff I didn't need. I will definitely keep going back.

Amazing service. Independent bike shop. Needed help seating some tubeless MTB tires and Matt was quick to assist, didn't even charge me for it which says a lot about the place. Definitely will be back to support this great shop.

I have been to this shop a handful of times and am always impressed with the customer service. The staff has routinely talked to me for 20+ minutes about questions I had without trying to sell me anything. I have been to at least 8 bike shops throughout the metro and I have received the best service here. Even when I ended up getting a bike elsewhere I received the same high level of service and the same great knowledgeable answers to my questions. The one critique I would offer is that most of the merchandise is Specialized brand. More variety would be great but the service is top notch.

Follow up: Three years later and this is still the best shop in the area that I've been to. I think what I like best is they always give you a thorough explanation of the work they did so you fully understand everything. I know whenever I bring a bike in it's going to be in the best possible condition when I pick it up. The mechanics there are the best. I don't have the nicest of bikes but they always have my bike riding great. Pricing is always very fair as well. I'm very grateful to have such a great shop to bring my bikes to.

The Bicycle Chain is an awesome independent shop! I've bought two bikes new and made many modifications to an older bike with their expert help. Not only do the do excellent work, but their prices are great and the staff is super friendly.

These guys did a fantastic job helping find what I need and giving me tips on how to install parts. Helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and honest. Prices seemed fair too (84$ for a basic tune up).

They even took a look at work I had done the previous day at Now Bikes and Fitness on Snelling that literally fell apart that same day (I will never go back there, management was unbelievably rude). Go to Bicycle Chain instead!

Great bike shop. Came in with only a tire rim for my ebike and guys knew exactly what inner tube and tire size needed for it. Fit perfectly when I installed it. Great service, 5 stars.
