Fat Fish Taco

Fresh food and amazing staff. We were looking for a new spot for some street food (tacos) and we were half we tried this place. Warm welcome when we came in we ordered the Beef Nachos they were stacked high and the beef very tender. For the mains a spicy shrimp and buttermilk chicken taco all were amazing as you can see by the pictures. We had homemade key lime pie and bread pudding for dessert and they did not disappoint. We spoke to the owner a very nice man and he comes up with weekly specials posted on Instagram. Place is also BYOB. We will be back

The food here is top quality. You can taste how fresh the ingredients are and the care that goes into the dishes. It’s no surprise they win award year after year. Will have to come back and try the lobster taco and lobster roll.

I pass this establishment every week. Today I decided to give it a try and it was wonderful. The menu is small and good. They are extremely accommodating for gluten free and dairy free amd will remove items of that nature from your taco. Michael the waiter/ chef was friendly and professional. I had the Baja taco with Pico and guacamole....ohh the guacamole was heavenly! Cannot wait to go back!!!!

Incredibly delicious tacos! Don't expect only the usual Mexican fare, although they have that too. The chef and owner, Steve Benyo, creates tacos with a great array of diverse flavors. Example: The Fried Chicken Taco is a spicy white meat chicken, served with a delicious roasted corn salsa, and topped with what tasted like a cilantro/lime crema. It was out of this world! Similarly, the Bang Bang Shrimp tacos from the everyday menu, shown half eaten in the photo, are absolutely delicious. The everyday menu has many great offerings, but the specials are where Steve gets to show his creativity and talent, and that's where this restaurant really shines.

It was literally a fish taco tasting! I ordered two Baja Cod Tacos and the pieces of fish were exemplary of the name. I also ordered (1) Blackened Sole, (1) Bang Bang Shrimp and (1) Mahi Mahi. My wife had the Lobster Taco. All extremely delicious fresh ingredients. The place itself was quaint and the owner Steve was really nice. I'll be visiting again regularly for sure.

Mahi mahi taco and swordfish taco (on specials that day) were fantastic. Hard to pick a favorite. We shared a chicken quesadilla. Also yum!! We will be back soon :)

The best fish tacos in Essex County bar none! The service equally great. It’s a little jewel in the area that we are grateful for.

Best Blackened Fish Taco I've had. The food is fresh and delicious. This is going to be my go to taco spot, especially for their Taco Tuesday special.

We took a dear friend there for lunch for his Birthday and had an amazing experience. Recently we had seen that Fat Fish Taco won an award for Best in Essex County for 22.

We were not disappointed.
The waiter was so attentive and got everything right with our order. We also spent time talking with the Executive Chef about the story behind Fat Fish Taco, etc. He was incredible and super friendly.

The Lobster Taco was the best taco I have ever had.

We will be coming back here very soon and often.

Absolutely delicious Tacos! No complains what so ever. The Boom Boom shrimp tacos (right) are definitely the best tacos I have ever eaten. A little pricey, but worth every penny.

It was my first time and I definitely will go back! I had two tacos, pork belly and blackened fish. Cute place!

Shrimp taco and pork taco - both very good! though the shrimp is still my favorite. Superb guac - fresh and generous.

Shockingly amazing tacos. You have to try the bang bang shrimp, it was amazing!

Now this place has the perfect combination of delicious fresh food, a hospitable environment, and a very caring and receptive owner who makes certain that every dish is perfect and everyone leaves happy (and full!).
Every taco I have had here, and I’ve had just about each one, is unique & delicious. You will never feel rushed here and my teenage kids love this place as well. Steve is the perfect example of an owner/chef. You won’t be disappointed.

This place is a wonderful local eatery with dynamite food. I make it a point to try a different taco on each visit. Everything is made fresh to order. The chef/owner is great. The staff is friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean and provides a great comfortable atmosphere. It makes me think I'm near the ocean with the aquatic theme. Try the Bang Bang Shrimp Taco and the Baja Taco you will not be disappointed. Their salads are delicious too.

Usually get takeout so atmosphere may be inaccurate.

Absolutely loved this place!! We came and they were closing early, 15 minutes til they were closing and they still took us in! Had been dying for some fish tacos and never have been able to find any that were good and then I found this place while searching for some. So glad I did cause they’re Amazing! Everything we had was SO fresh and such good flavors! The staff was so friendly! I cannot wait to come back!

Excellent taco place, fresh ingredients, tasty flavor combinations. Friendly people. I have a hard time choosing which tacos I want, they are ALL so good. I have tried them all. Generous portions. Speedy service. If you cant find parking in the front, plenty in the rear of building
