My coworker suggested this place for lunch as he used to visit the previous owners a lot. The food is incredible! I got the chicken salad sandwich highly recommended. For the price you cannot beat it. They load the sandwich up! Will definitely be back again

DIVINE. Absolutely amazing. Exceptional quality, crisp, flavorful, delicious and zingy! Really appreciate the top notch customer service in addition to high quality food. Highly recommend. Be aware, they get very busy , especially week days around lunch, so order in advance! Seamless, pick up process. All around 5 stars. Bravo.

This is my second time ordering from here. We actually got a bunch of sandwiches for our son’s birthday and we had to change the order a few times. Dave and Jackie were super accommodating. I grew up in nyc and I’m pretty picky with food but these sandwiches areeeee simply amazing! We will recommend this to our friends and family around the area. I’m not huge on Google reviews but will be leaving a yelp review next!

The best sandwiches in the area! Their chicken salad is out of this world. If you like some spice, make it spicy with the banana peppers & long hots! You won't regret it. Ordering is a piece of cake and curbside even better. Excellent place.

The best deli around....we love the chicken salad bowl, but have tried other items on the menu and all have been excellent. We have tried the chicken salad sandwich, Italian sub with extra meat - I think it's 50 slices, wings, chicken parm, and onion rings. Everything is fresh and made perfectly. Thank you for staying open during these times, eating your food has been as close to normal as we could get. Also, always great customer service.

Just ordered for the first time and I am completely impressed! On a recommendation from a patrolman in West Caldwell, we ordered and a big thanks to him as well! Dave's traditional chicken salad bowl is the best salad I have ever had! Me talking about salad is just plain weird but it was amazing. The flavors just married together in perfect harmony! This place is legit!

The food is great, the atmosphere is great and the owners are great. This is the type of place where everything you try is superb. They seem to really care about the ingredients they use (always fresh) and really put thought into the flavor profiles of their food. The chicken salad sandwich is my go to. Everytime I go, I have to order one with banana peppers. Their store baked chocolate chip cookies are banging, especially if you catch them right out of the oven. Even their dipping sauces are good - try the French fry dipping sauce (which I call the crack sauce because it is so addicting). This is the type of place I crave for. If I moved further from this place, I would definitely drive out of my way for their food. The owners are so friendly and welcoming too. They are very honest and will tell you before you order if they are behind or if your order might take longer than usual. They like to make sure you have the freedom to wait. I can't speak enough praises for this place. You just have to go try it yourself!

Found this gem last week while in the area and it is for sure my new go when near Caldwell. Great phone demeanor from employees, nice menu options. Had the chicken blt my first visit which was incredible, and the chicken cutlet sandwich the second. Both times the sandwich was amazing. Hot, freshly cooked chicken cutlets, crispy and delicious. Fresh bread. What else do you need.

I went to Dave's Deli for the first time yesterday and ordered the Nicco's Famous Chicken salad.

This was not your typical chicken salad, it was breaded chicken cut up with lettuce, mayo, red vinegar and I added banana peppers on a nice, fresh roll. It was the most delicious sandwich I have eaten... ever!

I highly recommend this place.

Best chicken cutlets. I don’t know what they do with them, but they are awesome. All of the sandwiches are really good. I highly recommend them.

Rapini w/ grilled chicken and long hots is my favorite. Heading there in a few minutes to get 3 more sandwiches.

Our dental office ordered lunch for the first time from Dave’s Deli! Everything was absolutely delicious! Very very fresh salads and cold cuts! We truly enjoyed our food. We will definitely be going back for staff lunches! Yumminess!

This is the only place I'm going to go for my sandwiches from now on. The Dave's Standard is hands down one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, everything tastes fresh, generous portions. Anything with the chicken cutlet on it is amazing, and their fried things (mozarella sticks, onion rings, etc.) are amazing too!

Awesome sandwich. Came in here on a whim looking for food while on break. Expected a normal classical deli but was instead met with a very different experience, more of a gourmet sandwich shop vibe that I'd expect to find in the city. Staff extremely friendly, recommended the Dave's standard, def will return!

The most amazing chicken sandwiches around..... by far!!! Dave takes his time to prepare each sandwich as if it is a masterpiece. So good! Also, get the chicken salad in a bowl cali style. Everyone loves the dressing.

I'm very rarely compelled to write reviews, but this chicken BLT sandwich has me SINGING. It's so good, I get goosebumps every bite. The serving sizes are awesome, too. Just go and try it.

I love their food and environment. Jackie and Dave are amazing people and always know what to recommend. Their chicken salad sandwich is amazing but I do also enjoy their caesar salad and wings. I'm so happy I found this place!!

It is by far one of the best Deli around. You are not going to be hungry after eating one of these sandwiches. Nic is as gracious as he is generous with his sandwiches. Although I moved out of State when I go back to NJ this is the place to stop first. You may have to wait a bit but well worth the wait. Order ahead
