Might be a little too cozy but I don’t care. Great atmosphere.

Food was good: apps tasted good and the main meal was a huge plate.

Service was great. Server made sure everything was going well and everyone was satisfied with what they ordered.

Will be back.

The food here was absolutely delicious. The stuffed rigatoni was hand made in house and both filling and vodka sauce absolutely delicious. The chicken was fried too juicy perfection and the peppers on top light and in perfect balance. Even the calamari was incredible.
This is definitely a hidden gem as the exterior is quite plain. We almost walked past. Interior is also older but quite charming and our waitress lovely and helpful. We will definitely be back for more delicious dishes!

Awesome, awesome spot. Food from apps to entrees (I had chicken parm) are generous portions and VERY good. We went here with a group of 12 for my birthday and not only was service good, the staff were so nice & fun. We kept adding music to the jukebox and when it was clear the rest of the restaurant patrons were also enjoying it, they turned it up a bit we all sang and the staff were soaking it up. We loved them (even the cooks were enjoying it!). All in all, quaint spot, but if you go with friends and want to shut the place down on a weekend night, they're happy to give you an unforgettable night.
Highly recommended and we will be back!!

The most amazing chicken parmigiana I or my wonderful husband ever had in Jersey City. And their BREAD PUDDING! Holy moly! It’s immaculate. Frank is a rare chef with a true passion for savory and sweet dishes! I feel so beyond lucky to alive during Beyoncé & Barge Inn. 😋💚♾

I had Dinner at the Barge for my Anniversary the food was delicious and extremely fresh, I had the veal chop , cooked to perfection my lovely wife had Veal topped with a fresh green salad. I will definitely be back.The bottle of Ruffino Chianti was refreshing and the owner made you feel like you where Family. Debbie the waitress was on point. Thank you for making our day special.

Great little Italian restaurant with an old world flair. I loved their linguini in white clam sauce which I ordered for takeout.

Thought this was a bar for 3 years. My mistake. Good old school Italian restaurant. Not a rushed experience. Staff was great, food was comforting. We’ll be back.

Terrific old school Italian restaurant that I highly recommend to anyone the remotely lives in the area. The menu is simple and straight to the point but everything we ordered was top notch. The special board was very diverse and I can't wait to explore it on my next visit. Most tender chicken parm I've ever had and they have an elite level chicken savoy.

The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable, and makes you feel like you're part of the family. It's hard to get this level of service at restaurants today.

I can't wait to come back because this absolutely satisfies every Italian craving you have.

I was in town and wanted really good Italian, what I got was phenomenal! I ordered the penne with vodka sauce and it was the bet I’ve had. Be prepared to wait, it took about an hour to get my food but it was well worth the wait. This place will be a must when I am in town.

Stumbled into this restaurant while looking for Italian food near Liberty Landing Marina on the New Jersey side of the Hudson River. Could not be more pleased about our dinner as well as the service. Thanks to the staff for a great experience!

Barge in is a very lovely restaurant and bar at night where you can go play pool and have a drink and talk with friends while playing music off a player. It's a nice spot not too far from downtown Grove Street and Newark Ave in Downtown Jersey City. I recommend everyone to go there

It's really freaking good old school Italian.

The bread was great, calamari was cooked perfectly, my wife's seafood fra diavolo was amazing, and the lasagna exactly what you'd hope for.

It will not be cheap, but it will be made fresh, it will come with friendly service and it feels like you stepped back in time a bit.

Amazing Italian old school little restaurant. Romantic homey design. Authentic Italian American cuisine. The bread pudding is so good it will make you want to sleep on the floor. Wine is good. Calamari is so dammed good and the tomato sauces are so damned good. My wife and I go to have a nice authentic warm hearty meal that fills you up in such a lovely way.

Tiny restaurant with a rustic feel. Food was great and authentically Italian. Beware when ordering appetizers, they're big and filling. So don't order too many or you won't be able to enjoy the delicious entrees.
Ask the staff for recommendations, they're passionate and very approachable.

My wife and I took a chance on a little place described as authentic Italian cuisine..... man it didn't disappoint. The place looked and smelled authentic but the true passion was from the owners and her staff. The food was delicious and the service was great. Congrats to the bride to be, remember not so serious

Don’t walk, RUN to Barge Inn! Not only was the music a 12/10, but our bottle of (reasonably priced) wine and delicious dinner was a 15/10! We had balsamic calamari, chicken milanese, chicken parm, salad, bread, wine, limoncello, AND cheese cake. I mean…amazing!

Not so special from the outside but great little local place, family run. Been around awhile. Not fancy. Not pretentious, just good food. Bread, soup, pasta were all excellent.
Eight tables total with a bar area. Two glasses of wine, one bowl of soup, two pastas for $68 including tip.

The Barge Inn is the absolute best and one of our favorite restaurants in the area. We love the service, Stephanie is the best, the chef is amazing, everything is fresh and completely delicious. We've brought family, friends and everyone loves it.

You must give this place a try.
