Middle Island Fire Department

If I could, I would give 10 stars for my fellow brothers. But like everything else, there is always one to spoil. I'm a Commack fire department ex captain and a sheriff's officer. On July 22, 2020 while working around middle island, I stopped a fire house on middle country road and asked a district mechanic if I could use the bathroom. He looked at me and said "No, you can't use the bathroom". I this time, I said my name and ID myself as law enforcement and firefighter. His answer again was "I don't make the rules, and you can't used the bathroom". My only reaction was to thank him for his time and I left.

Professional and thorough

They do a lot for the community. They are my favorite.

Ambulance took 35 min to strap patient (who had just had a stroke and could not move his right side) in a chair and leave for Stony Brook hospital. EMS took another 32 min to arrive at the hospital, longer than it takes Lyft or Uber. Patient was coherent upon leaving, in a coma upon arriving at the hospital. Patient had his iPhone 8 Max and his iPad with him. All was stolen by EMS and hospital. The hospital returned only patient's ID and a few cards, which were probably taken from his home as EMS people and police were free to roam in it. Where did they get those from otherwise? If I could leave 0 stars I would.
