We go to the grocery stores for produce and grains, and COME HERE for all our meats! Wonderful quality, their steaks have always been delicious. Along with the ground steaks and beef. We also get cheese here from time to time, and it’s always so soft and fresh and UNLIKE the grocery store, when you ask for a block of cheese, you actually get a block of cheese, not slices! 😂 Prices are pretty good for the quality! We love Gills and this will be our be our place while in Springfield!

I've been coming here since I was a kid, they have great prices and amazing meat. They even have lamb in the freezer, which is really hard to come by during certain times of the year! It's dated (I don't think I've ever seen it looking different than how it does now) and the people that work there are only moderately friendly, but I've never had a problem. Plus, the meat is AMAZING, and that is what you are going for in the first place. Make sure to pick up some of their home made red rubbing spices, they taste great on anything and can help you trick people into thinking you are an amazing chef.

I love this place. I found it when i was looking for a prime rib for easter dinner. I have been a customer since and refuse to purchase meat anywhere else. The staff is so friendly and you can tell they appreciate you not only doing business with them but doing locally owned business.

I've lived in Springfield my whole life and i only went here a few times as a kid. We usually shopped at Kroger and I continued that into adulthood. But recently I wanted a special item, and after my search I found Gill's. This place is great and has everything you want at a butchers. They have great advise on how to prepare certain meats and they have a little grocery section in case you need a compliment to what you buy.
