Highly recommended! The ladies at the front are very welcoming and friendly. Their pastries tasted amazing and were fairly priced. Will go back to try some of the other items on the menu. There is plenty of parking available as well. They also have seating available.

My favorite bakery in New Hyde Park. The girls at the counter are always very nice. Some of my favorites include their blackout cake, fruit tarts, and black and white cookies. They also have some good Napoleon and chocolate PB tarts. Very good variety at decent prices.

Year later review - still amazing, well worth the price. They are now open on Mondays. I don't live in New Hyde Park anymore but I still try to make it here. I highly recommend this bakery.

As far as my husband and I are concerned one of the best, if not the best bakery. Been stopping by for years and never had a complaint. We had apple pie, chocolate babkah, various Danish, cookies. I love the chocolate cigars. Staff is always pleasant and helpful, no matter how busy they are. If it is a holiday, go early or reserve ahead of time.

My husband and I celebrated our 30 wedding anniversary on May 28, 2022. We wanted to have our cake done by a bakery in the area. Out of all we came across this little gem of a bakery called Gourmet Bakery. The owner and staff were very accommodating. After speaking with him we decided to order our 2 tier cake. He went further giving us a discount. Out of all the places we checked this was the most realistic when it came to pricing.Cake was beautifully done and was ready for pickup on time and was a hit, everyone asked where we bought it and we were happy to share the info with them. Even the Maitre De was trying to get as much information as he could. We are so grateful to Gourmet Bakery for making our day special. We will not hesitate to recommend.

Ordered an amazing Oreo cake from gourmet bake shop. Joe did amazing and everyone raved about the cake all night. They will be my go to bakery for cake!

I love this bakery. I will pick up blackout cakes from here when I need. Its always fresh, delicious, fudge, chocolatey filled. My favorite. You can never go wrong with anything here. All their cakes are awesome, as well as their pastries and cookies! So amazing. I highly recommend them. Also the prices are amazing here, epically for the quality. I am always a satisfied customer!! Oh yeah and I ordered a birthday cake for my God son. It came out awesome 👌

Great local bakery. Come in here at least once a week. Have ordered many special occasions cakes here and they were phenomenal. Joe and his staff are very friendly.

Always like this place go there once a week staff is great .everything is yummy. Plenty of parking. I heard there is a new owner I hope they keep everything and staff.

Picked up a cake for my aunt that she ordered ahead of time. The owner was sort friendly and offered to dress it up a bit more for a 30th birthday, but I assured her my aunt had a Topper, which she did. The cake was half and half chocolate rasp and vanilla custard. It was delightful. I had 2 pieces and typically don't really eat cake. I highly recommend this lovely shop.

This is the best bakery in the whole area! Old school Italian bakery with a huge selection of baked goods that are always delicious and so reasonably priced! I especially love their fruit tarts and made to order cannolis. The napoleons, oreo cake, semolina bread and peach tart are also delicious. Can’t go wrong!

Editing to add that we recently got a custom order cake and Joe was so easy to work with and talented. Gave him a few ideas and Joe created the most beautiful and delicious cake for my sons first birthday!

Joe baked a beautiful cake for my boss’ retirement party. It was absolutely delicious and all my coworkers loved it. They all asked for the name of the bakery. When I looked around at peoples plates there was not even a crumb left on it! I will definitely use Gourmet Bake Shop again in the future for parties.

The Gourmet Bake Shop makes the best cannolis! They were filled to order, super fresh, and tasted amazing. We also tried other baked goods which were also great.

I’ve gone here on two separate occasions and both times I’ve been met with friendly staff and delicious treats. Butter and Italian cookies are fresh and not overloaded with sugar like most places.

The absolute best bakery I know. I’d sell my kidney to have their apple turnovers for life... too bad they always go out so fast! I also appreciate the small, home-like feeling to this bakery. It’s not like some crowded, over commercialized one. Service is also great, they are so kind.

This bakery has very reasonable pricing comparing to other nearby bakeries. I always get cakes made on order with the design I have in mind, and Joe always does it so perfect. Never had any issues with any of my cakes.

Everything here is just like a grandmother would bake. I'm impressed with the flavor of the pastries and the variety of baked goods. One thing I really love are the cheesecakes that are sold by the slice. The Italian cheesecake is one of my favorite. There is an apple ring that usually calls my name but it is sometimes hard to find because it is popular and gets scooped up pretty quickly. Everyone there is helpful so don't hesitate 2 ask questions!
