Hidden Sichuan Restaurant

This place is amazing y’all! We’ve been here several times, and the food is always perfect! My favorite is the wonton soup and mapo tofu. My son loves the orange chicken, and my wife enjoys the salt and pepper shrimp and curry chicken. We highly recommend this restaurant!

Love this place. Food is always on point. Lunch special is great. I love the consistency and options. After the shut down they seem to be back up and running. Almost everything I've tried here has been great. Some of the 1 or 2 star reviews complain about sauce, but if you want more sauce get a meal that has a ton of it not those that are breaded. Below is the vegetable mapo Tofu. So good!

I’ve gone to many Chinese restaurants with the family and this place has many high quality dishes. Each tastes unique! Lots of restaurants everything tastes like it came out of the same bowl… but not here! Highly recommend

Always so so so very delicious! The best orange chicken I've found. The salt and pepper shrimps are big and perfectly seasoned. The curry chicken is wonderful! I always over order and cannot wait to eat the leftover when I get home.

Sichuan food from this place is way different typical Chinese food. For sure, try their house special cold noodles for a refreshing dish with a balance of sweet, savory, Szechuan spicy and salty. I like their Mushu pork as well, savory and meaty with a mix of crunchy vegetables.

The inside was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. The food was very good, I had some spicy pork dumplings and cold Sichuan noodles. The atmosphere was great and I cant wait to come back with more of my friends.

The best Chinese food in Elk Grove. Somehow it's not jammed pack all the time. Everytime I come here the food is top notch. I'm switching from happy garden to here.

The best Chinese-type food around. Much higher quality ingredients and sauces than most and a good mix of less "American" Chinese food on the menu. Admitidely, they could use more description for some of these items so they appear less "scary."
For example some of my favorites:
Szechwan (YuShiang) chicken is just nicely cooked, thin chicken mixed with onion, green/red pepper, zuchini, some mushrooms, and bamboo shoots in a tasty garlic and soy based sauce. Good depth of flavor and a joy to eat!
The dry fried food is just crispy, lighly breaded meat of choice served with hot peppers and a special peppercorn that makes your tounge feel slightly numb for a few minites while eating. Not unpleasant at all and is a really fun experience for your first time, but so, so delicious that you'll keep ordering it.
And their meat-less meals are quite tasty for those who don't eat meat.
All that being said, you should definitely come here instead of the nearby Panda Express that opened in the same parking lot. You'll pay a similair price for higher quality, fresher food and you are supporting a small local business. Do the right thing!

I loved the food . My favorite out of the few dishes I ordered was the dry fried lamb . I was impressed by the freshness off the food . I pay attention to the quality of the freshness and grade of ingredients used in the food I eat. Certain textures , smell , and the visual look of my prepared food along with taste has to be right for me to enjoy my food (I'm very picky). I was able to eat and really did appreciate how delicious everything was. I've eaten at most Chinese places here in Elk Grove and only two I liked before eating here.

Hidden Sichuan is our favorite Asian restaurant in Elk Grove. I love the spicy, complex, layered flavor profiles. Magic chili beef is great! I normally don't like fish, but I always order st least one fish dish a visit. The dish is tender and succulent. There are mild dishes for those not into spicy, and vegetarian mock meat dishes, which I have not tried yet.

I am NEVER disappointed when I come here! The food is always good, consistent and very flavorful!!

My go to order: magic chicken, salt & pepper pork chop & green beans.

The best Chinese in Elk Grove!!! I was so disappointed when Peach Garden closed or changed owners some years ago. They had the live fish, lobster and crab tank. Well pleasantly surprised the owners here are the former owners of Peach!!! It’s just a smaller joint and the aquarium is replaced by a video on the wall. I probably shouldn’t post this because I should keep the place “ Hidden” or it will be a wait to get in. The food is amazing and right now the prices are amazing for the quality of food. Been there enough times we are called by our first names. Check them out!

This place is awesome. Great service and food is amazing. My favorites are the spicy boiled fish soup, sesame chicken and the honey walnut prawns which might as well be a desert in my opinion. Prices are also very reasonable.

Excellent chinese food in Elk Grove. We especially like their hot & spicy crispy fried chicken (also known as salt & pepper crispy chicken at some places). But their soups are also very good and their catering services are reasonable.

Love the food. There Crispy Fried Salt and Pepper Tofu is great. Spicy but not oily. Also like their MuShu Pork.

I have lived all over the country (Washington, Georgia, New York, Kentucky, passed through many, and now California. and my mind is blown away with this amazing food. Hands down best Chinese food I've ever had. Service was excellent and attentive. Strongly suggest coming here. We will be back.

Fantastic! Highly recommended! Super polite and helpful service, authentic presentation, very clean restaurant. Food is excellent, not your standard supermarket Asian fare. Delicious and fresh. And the price is reasonable. Nothing bad to say at all!

This place is Great! We loved the honey walnut shrimp staff was nice and attentive. It's wasn't too busy there. The decor is nice and the prices are about the same as any other place.
