My wife and I stopped in for a late lunch. All we can say is wow! The chicken we had was very crunchy and flavorful it came out piping hot! The vegetables were fresh and the potatoes were great. The one plate was more than enough for both of us. We also decided to have a slice of the banana cream pie and coffee. This was also delicious. I would 100% recommend. Castle Cafe

Great place! It got pretty busy around 6 or so! Nice food and atmosphere! My first time and I enjoyed myself! The Deviled Eggs are delightful! So is the catfish, which is something coming from me! I love catfish! If you go, enjoy!

Kept hearing great things about Castle Cafe's famous fried chicken, decided to try it out. Definitely not disappointed at all!! Absolutely LOVE the atmosphere, vintage historic western building that used to be a bar and hotel back in the day. The spicy devils (jalapeno bacon deviled eggs) we're good but nothing special in my opinion. Not much jalapeno flavor. The chicken takes 30 minutes to make from order, so be prepared for that wait, but it's absolutely worth it. The coleslaw is one of my favorite coleslaws that I've ever had and the rolls were delicious, you can tell they're made from scratch.

I can't wait to go back and bring my family!

This was, without a doubt, the best meal I've had since moving to Colorado. Chicken fried chicken and fish and chips were fantastic. Can't wait to come back for bison meatloaf and burgers

I was in town for work, and came to the Castle Cafe for a late dinner. The buffalo/bison meatloaf was the perfect comfort food, served with perfectly made mashed potatoes, brown gravy and the best steamed mixed vegetables I've ever had outside my own kitchen. Service was efficient, kind, and warmly friendly.
The kitchen was faster than the bar, if you can believe it! Already recommended it to several others should they be in the Castle Rock area. Thank you, hope to be back again soon!

Great good. I personally love the salmon. But, everything has always been yummy. Awesome staff. Friendly and loaded with smiles. Interesting history as well. Highly recommend. They still have the feel of a small town Cafe .

Everything was done so well. Truly a professionally run restaurant. Riley was the best waiter I’ve had in 12 years of living in Denver. Will be back every time we go to Castle Rock.

I can't believe I didn't come here sooner. I kept wanting to try it but never prioritized it with so many yummy options in the area. However I have been missing out. From the very start when they brought out the Parker rolls, which are more like big fluffy pieces of bread, I was in love. I also really enjoyed the French onion soup with mushroom which isn't an addition I think I have had in a french onion soup but it was a nice compliment. I just think that it should come with more spoons because everybody at the table needed to try it haha. Then for the entree we both got the chicken fried chicken. I think my husband really liked it because after I ate about half of mine he finished that after having had a whole portion of his own as well. People with high metabolisms are lucky they can eat whatever they want haha. My daughter ordered off the kids menu and her burger looked pretty good for a kids meal. They also honored her extra cheese request which most places forget or we order online and they don't have that option so she was really happy about that. The service was really nice. Not only our server was very kind and attentive but the food runner was a really nice guy as well. I also like the ambiance. It is in an old building and it gives a nice historic nostalgia. There's also a lovely painting on the wall. Next time I will have to ask more about the history. They have a little paper about it but there's more I would like to know. I guess it all revolves around the Parker family? Because the painting said Parker on the signature and the rolls were Parker rolls. I will have to learn more. They also have honey that they serve with the bread and that is so yummy. We also loved our desserts. I thought that my husband would need a to go box for his apple pie but he kind of laughed at me because he ate all of that as well. I got the black bottom banana cream pie and it was to die for honestly. A lot of people don't like banana cream pie but this is worth trying. I think the chocolate bottom gives it something extra special. They also have coffee to serve with dessert so that is nice. Unfortunately the restrooms were out of order but hopefully they will get them fixed soon. All in all I thought it was a lovely experience and I look forward to coming back honestly for the bread alone it is worth coming back for haha. Next time I think we will try the famous fried chicken.

Love the menu but I tend to stick with the fried chicken. Definitely like the option to do all white or all dark. Worth coming here every week for just the chicken if I could! Servers are great and personable, also not overly invasive either. Fun sit down restaurant with a good setting and atmosphere.

Without hyperbole, this was one of the most satisfying burgers I have had in a long time. I live up in Denver and will happily drive back down here anytime to have it again. On top of that, the fries were impeccable and the rolls were out of this world. Coming back soon.

New to me, but oldie to the town of Castle Rock! This little gem gets all five stars except for decor. And generally when you’re looking for a homey, even kitch spot, it’s just irrelevant, isn’t it? I had THE best service by Seria who was a darling waitress. Thank you! Ordered chicken fried steak that had truly, -homemade- skillet gravy. Now if you know gravy the way I do, you also know that almost every restaurant around buys theirs from Cisco or their supplier. Not this place!! Tasted like my mom’s! The steak was pounded thin and although I’m not used to that it was terrific and the batter crunchy and spiced just right. Even the side of veggies where very fresh and not over cooked!
The peach cobbler was made right there with Colorado peaches. A big hit with vanilla bean ice cream.
If you’re visiting this town it would be perfect to say you’ve been. If you live in this town, I’d say you may become a regular!

We were lucky enough to get in before the rush. Go early.

We got the chicken fried chicken and a smoked pork burrito/chile relleno. The smoked pork works really well in a burrito. The chile relleno was nice and crispy.

The green chile here is on point. Some of the best we've ever had this far south. It was a very pleasant meal at this historical landmark in Castle Rock.

Always great food and service. Been here many times and have never been disappointed. The Castlewood canyon salad is amazing, fish and chips on Fridays..so good. The hot roast turkey is straight Thanksgiving. Oh and get the spicy devils app...yum! Not even to mention the pan fried chicken plates, so much food and so fresh.

We LOVED our first visit here when my brother. He'd never even heard of this Cafe, but the reviews were enthusiastic, so we gave it a go. We were not disappointed! My mom and brother had the Buffalo meatloaf, I had the turkey dinner, his wife had the pork sandwich, his daughter had the Buffalo chicken burger, and his son and daughter's boyfriend had the Santa Fe burger. Everyone was raving how good it was, trying each other's dishes. Service was quick and attentive, and we didn't have to wait for a table like we thought we would (based on reviews).
I will be back, and would HIGHLY recommend stopping if you're in the area!

This was such a unique stop! My family and I stopped in for lunch and we were greeted promptly, when we got to our table we were introduced to our server Madi. She was incredibly quick to get our drinks and quick to get in our order! She seemed as if she really loved her job and you can’t find a lot of servers like that! Needless to say I can’t wait to come back and we will be asking for Madi as our server and I advise many others to ask for her!

This has been our local favorite for 25 years! The building is over 100 years old and back in the late 1800's, it was the main stop for travelers between Denver and Colorado Springs. It even used to have a dance hall over the restaurant. Great history to this building! Try the fried chicken, its amazing! Another favorite is the green chili soup.Tonight, we had the Chicken fried steak and the Meatloaf. Basically, everything is good and the service is excellent! and No Sniveling!

We came here for lunch because we didn’t want to wait the hour next door. Liz was our server and the service was so phenomenal!!! They had a breakfast burrito for their special today and I highly recommended it! It was probably one of the best breakfast burritos I’ve ever had!

My husband got the chicken fried chicken and said it lives up to the world famous slogan!

Great little diner to stop in at. A lot of home style food to choose from. We got the Chile Rellenos and the Catfish dishes. I really could have only eaten half of the rellenos plate but we were driving all the way to Dallas and I didn't want to bring leftovers so I managed to eat it all. Great Rellenos! The Catfish was pretty tasty too according to the bf. I tried some of his coleslaw and it was some of the best coleslaw I've ever had! A little pricey but definitely worth it.

We stopped in for lunch and had some amazing food. This place is so cute and service was excellent. Staff was very friendly. Prices were very reasonable. The next time I'm back in Colorado, this will definitely be on my list for lunch.
