Soup was delicious, and the pretzel bread was fun to share. Had a nice atmosphere to sit down with friends and chat while having a nice late lunch. A person in our group had an allergy and the staff made sure that the food they ate was safe. Would come again, 5/5!

Love love love the soups! So far, I've had their broccoli/cheddar and a special of the day (veggie curry I believe). As a huge soup girl, this place is ideal. The rest of the menu looks tasty and healthy too. Also recommend the breads (pumpkin chocolate chip!).

Such a great place to eat. Service and environment great. They serve freshly baked bread. We had soup, chicken sandwich, and rainbow trout. They all tasted amazing. Had great time!

Shares a space with an outdoor gear store which was interesting. Cool atmosphere in an old garage. Friendly helpful staff and very good soups. I recommend the broccoli cheddar. Great snack for $5 for a cup.

Love this place!! We come here every time we are in BV and have not been disappointed. The steak stroganoff is delicious 🤤. Love checking out the gear store while waiting as well! The patio has a great vibe and is dog friendly which is always a huge plus! Will definitely be back next time we're in BV!

Great experience! Great atmosphere and tasty food. You can even get keto by requesting zucchini noodles for the stroganoff. The trout was very good too. A couple of nice keto friendly items.

Really yummy food, I was a big fan of the carrot coconut soup. Nice to have healthy options when visiting out of town.

Don’t let this restaurant being connected to a store fool you. Amazing service and great home made food. Can’t give it more compliments, I will return when back in the area. DO NOT SKIP THIS PLACE

I had the rainbow trout which came with crispy skin on. Perfectly cooked and reminded my of Seattle. Also the buffalo ravioli and soup are also recommended. You order at the counter and the menu is short and that is good because the locals eat here too and they are behind you in line. Waiters bring everything to your table.

The building also sells outdoor clothes.

Excellent chicken salad sandwich. Mango fig salad was good also. I liked the 1/2 salad as a side option. Ordered pick up online and it was fast and easy.

This was a pleasant surprise. We had the spicy Asian trout and wow the combination of rice, trout and veggies were delicious.
The team all worked well to make sure we had a good dining experience. Will return when we’re back in Buena Vista.

Loved the simple and complete menu. The combo is such a great deal! I ordered the pesto pasta and it was delicious, the salad was great too. They have daily specials and a wide selections of beer and wines. The frozen yogurt has a toppings bar where you can serve yourself as much as you want. I was happy to see so many vegetarian and vegan options. Great place! Loved it!

We were on our way to Colorado Springs but stopped over night in Buena vista. We thought of having dinner in a comfortable place. Google recommended this place and bouy it was amazing.

My order is as shown in pictures: chicken sandwich with pretzel bun and cheddar broccoli 🥦 on the side. Vegetarian cheddar penne with side of pretzel 🥨 bun.

Ambiance is the first thing that pops out in this place. It is well structured. It’s a shop slash food spot but when we were here in the night 8PM, it was restaurant only. We took a long time to decide our order but people at the reception were so patiently waiting and suggestive. Everyone in this place greeted us with a smile. No complaints for customer service. They followed all the covid guidelines. Restrooms are clean.

Sandwich and soup was super good. After hiking for miles, this was well deserved dinner for us. I would highly recommend the sandwich. Penne was amazing as well. Do not get cheddar broccoli with penne as both will taste the same. Penne by itself is amazing and doesn’t need anything on the side. Owner came and asked how the food was and allowed me to take pictures of the place.

I was very impressed with the quality of the food and presentation here, I have lived all over the country and grew up in Chicago and was very happy to find a restaurant of this quality in a smaller town and will definitely be coming back next time I am in the area!

Whenever I'm passing through town I make sure to stop here for lunch. Everything is fresh from scratch, terrific soups, in house baked bread. I go for the half/half combo of soup or salad and half a sandwich.

The quality of the food here is exceptional. Every meal I tried, I wanted to order it again the next time. My favorite meal here was the elk burger, but the halibut was to die for as well. And I almost forgot to mention the hot apple cider is as good as it gets here. This place is a must try if you're visiting Buena Vista.

Had the elk burger with chips and salsa. Pretzel bread w/ beer cheese and honey mustard. The fresh baked bread on the burger and for the app was amazing. The elk burger had a great taste, and the salsa was also very flavorful. Great staff, friendly and helped me choose the right options for my meal.

Hands down my absolute favorite place to eat in town. The red bird chicken sandwich is amazing. I visit weekly for a loaf of country sourdough, though the blueberry sweet loaf is delightful as well. The staff are always friendly and attentive. Ignore any of those silly negative reviews. This place is the best!

Stumbled upon a hidden treasure while passing thru Buena Vista, CO. We stopped in for a quick bite and was very impressed by not only the food, but the informed, friendly staff and the immaculate resturant. If you are anywhere near Buena Vista and looking for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the Simple Eatery & Spoon It Up will not disappoint. 😊
