Jan's Restaurant

Was just driving through and stopped in. Mexican vegetable soup was great. I had the chopped steak and onions and it was excellent. Was not crazy about the mashed potatoes and corn. Tasted instant. My wife had the BLT and said it was good.

We went for breakfast on a Sunday morning at 10:30. We were greeted and seated immediately even though it was super busy! The servers were very nice and helpful. Our food was delicious! You get generous portions for an affordable price. The atmosphere was nice also. A lot of families and friends enjoying themselves. Will definitely be back!

You better be hungry when you come to Jan’s! Lots of very good food. I had the full Mr. Ed and now I think I have enough for dinner as well. Delicious green chill, big fluffy biscuits and creamy gravy! So good. I tried the elk jalapeño sausage as well and it had just enough spice and excellent flavor.

Service was very good and fast. The place gets crowded but the wait was minimal and the food came out quick. Great place for a good hearty breakfast!

This was a pit stop while on the way to Southern CO. Superb food and the Elk sausage breakfast was fantastic! Great place for Buena Vista! Support local!!

I was an employee of Jans Restaurant and was treated with respect and dignity. My friend Michael is the cook in the mornings and truly cares about the customers orders. That man can get your eggs right to order. All the staff there are real down home folks. It has been a pleasure to work with them.

Love this place so much, I drive from salida just to have breakfast here. Great staff, excellent owners that offer military and first responder discounts. Many pie options, home town feel inside and out.

Food and service was incredible. The chicken fried steak was the best I’ve had. It really melts in your mouth. The chille relleno was also spectacular and unique. Jan’s is a must visit!

We stopped by here after horseback riding in the area...We were tired, hot, and hungry. We immediately were sat at a table and offered drinks. Our waitress was extremely busy but still kind, friendly, and patient. The food was out quickly and delicious. The best part was the PIE!! Wonderful experience here with the staff, service, and food!

This is a great local Diner! The best thing about Jan’s is the pie! If you love a mouth watering dessert do not miss the pie board. I still dream about the pie slices at Jan’s. Food is good the pie is the star of the show.

I had biscuits and gravy and it was the quite possibly the best sausage gravy I've ever had! Also had French toast and was delicious!! Husband had rellano plate and liked it as well. Will now be our go to for breakfast in BV. Delicious!!

I love diners - and this spot nails it. Those link sausages were memorably delicious. Lovely sausage n gravy. And that pie - Holy moly, the Peanut Butter Pie does not play. Best sweet treat in town.
I'll have to come back for some pancakes and malted waffle.

What an awesome meal! I don’t get to BV often, but when I do, I go to Jan’s! It’s a great atmosphere with great service and food. Close to downtown and you never leave hungry. Try the French dip. It is the very best!

I'm from Northern Colorado and frequent Jan's every time we go to Buena Vista. The food is great, everyone involved with the restaurant is polite and friendly. I recommend this place to all. Try it, you'll love the experience.

We went on Labor Day,very busy but we sat down right away and had our food within 20 minutes. Chicken fried steak was just the way you would want it and Mr. Ed's full breakfast was yummy. As you can see by my husband's face!!! Service was excellent, the ladies were very friendly and attentive. To the guy who posted the not so great review about greasy hash browns and the bathroom being too small.......the hash browns are just fine they aren't meant to be a diet food! And the building and restaurant has been around a long time,that's the best thing about it. It's not some fancy,modern totally remodeled place. If that's what you want,you definitely need to go to a different restaurant and probably a different town. If you like good homey food and friendly people,go to Jan's!!!

Looking for a good place to eat at a reasonable price, the parking lot was full at 11 am, so that was the first clue. We weren't disappointed. Really good comfort food. Breakfast has many options, including homemade rellenos and giant oatmeal pancakes with crunchy edges and soft thick middles. Jan, the owner, talked with everyone like family. We left with our stomachs full and happy.

Stop and read this! We're from Texas and we vacationed here in Nathrop a few miles from Buena Vista. We love eating locally so we asked around and Jan's was the restaurant to go to. We went for lunch and were served big portions of food. Being from out of town and have some conversations with our waitress, Jan the owner came over to introduce herself. She was such a doll! Very sweet lady! We couldn't help but tell her how much we were enjoying what felt like a home cooked meal. Everything's bigger in Texas and her restaurant along with the friendly and attentive staff made us feel like home! We loved it so much we woke up super early at 7AM and ate breakfast to start our adventurous day. The pankcakes....wow! They are pretty huge! Be sure to stop by, dine with some fine people and tip these hard working people! We will definitely be back when we can!

A great All-American diner with a vast menu. You feel the love going in to the food, and very friendly service. A 5 foot board lists all the pies available. Large place spread out wide for social distancing, and being vigorously cleaned continuously. Great environment for seniors, and a nice discount from what I overheard.

Staff was so friendly and nice! Food was superb as well! Shout out to the bar tender for making phenomenal Bloody Mary’s and the front person calling us when a table was ready! Super friendly. “Bethy-poo, your table is ready for you” made my day!

Came down from the hot springs for breakfast. Had the biscuits and gravy and Jan’s omelet. Both were very good, also large portions. You won’t go hungry here!
