Third Hill Winery

My friends and I came by this afternoon after visiting Luray Caverns. We had an amazing time! It was a nice fall day and the outside patio area was a great place to sit. The views of the vineyard really made it an enjoyable afternoon while sipping on wine and chatting. Once we got chilly, we moved inside to the upstairs loft seating and enjoyed the live music. We met the owners who were absolutely pleasant with a warm demeanor and knowledgeable take on the wines. You could tell they worked hard to run the vineyard and valued the welcoming atmosphere. The wines were so much fun to try! We all got flights and then split a bottle once we chose one of our favorites. I would definitely recommend stopping by!

A fantastic atmosphere, live music, and a plethora of options and diverse variety of wines to choose from. This venue made for the perfect date. My date even ran late arriving shortly before closing time and the owners accommodated us so generously. This place has a wide array of options for seating making it great for a date or larger gatherings. Pick your spot! From Adirondack chairs overlooking the country side and vine rows, perhaps the second story balcony, or maybe the rustic live edge aesthetic inside with air conditioning. I can’t give this place a higher review. If there was an option for 6 stars I would give it. Cheers!

Loved my experience here! It was so homey and Wendy and Ed are lovely hosts. You can purchase wine, cheese & crackers, or chips here and it’s enough to keep you there for a while with the beautiful views! They have the cutest dogs too :)

Beautiful views with lots of secluded nooks and crannies to enjoy your wine with friends. Pick from lounge chairs, couches, patio tables, or Adirondack chairs around fire pits. The whole place is decorated with antique farm equipment and has a very homey feel.

The Virginia countryside is conducive to cultivating grapes for wine 🍷and you’ll find vineyards all across the state. There was just something about #ThirdHill that made us choose this one and I’m so glad we did.
This beautiful vineyard in the #ShenandoahValley is run by a lovely couple - kind and comfortable to be around. They allow you to bring your own food and of course, you take the wine from them. You can opt for a glass or whatever or a flight comprising 4 or 8 wines.
Typically it shuts at 5, but we were told we could clear our checks and sit out on the deck for as long as we chose. We were even taken into the cellar exclusive to privileged members. Now that’s going the extra mile to keep your customers happy

Ed and his wife are very friendly and the employees are equally delightful. The wine is tasty and the option to buy cigars is a bonus especially for my husband. The grounds are beautiful. Lots of seating and nice views.

We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and were greeted with a warm welcome by Wendy and Ed. The wines, particularly the reds, were delicious. Our friends loved the sangria! The views were gorgeous. Wendy and Ed made sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our visit. We loved getting to talk with them about the winery, the history of many of the charming decor/furniture pieces they have, and just general chit chat. I couldn’t recommend this place more and we will definitely be back! Hopefully we can get a reservation with their Airbnb too :)

Owner is really cool. The tasting room is beautiful, we'll decorated, very cozy. Live music was great too! Of course, the wine was fantastic! My personal favorite was the Cabernet franc.

You come for the wine but stay for the environment and ambiance! My wife and I loved this place! The owners were extremely friendly, made us feel right at home, and we loved the feel of the place. Great wine, too!! One of the best wineries I’ve ever been too. Check it out!

I loved this place! My girlfriend and I had a great time here enjoying good wine and talking, all accompanied by a beautiful scenario. They even had cows and I love cows hahaha. We also ordered this cheese table that was very good (I wish the portion was bigger). Very friendly staff, I felt welcomed and we got some beautiful pictures.

This winery is well worth a visit. Good wines, overly friendly and knowledgeable staff/owners, informative tastings and a killer atmosphere. We went here on a whim and had an awesome experience. The live music (Boy meets Girl) and the views were stellar. Very unique building with plenty of space to relax. We had a lot of fun with a couple that we meet on the upper deck. Definitely go here, we will revisit. Sorry I lost some of my pictures. Thanks Third Hill!!!!

This place is an absolutely MUST! The wine is amazing and the owners are very knowledgeable and super friendly! They also have top-notch sangria! We visit as often as we can. The atmosphere is relaxed and charming. We LOVE when they have live music as well!

Ed and his wife were extremely hospitable for our visit. The wine tasting was delicious and informative. The atmosphere at this place is very unique, you will feel like you are at home with friends. We are so happy we got to meet such wonderful and dedicated people. We look forward to coming back in the near future. Thank you for everything!

Thrilled to have stumbled across this gem while in the Woodstock area. Excellent wines and great atmosphere. Huge indoor and outdoor seating areas. There was live music when we visited. The owners were beyond hospitable ... Can't wait to visit again.

I’ve been to many wineries in Northern Virginia and Third Hill is by far one of my favorites. Wendy and her husband were so personable and equally knowledgeable, and their wine was INCREDIBLE. Wendy spent a lot of time with us during our tasting and made us feel at home. The indoor space was beautiful, charming and very welcoming. Will definitely be back for both the wine and the atmosphere.
