I had several of my friends over for my birthday. We stayed in clean and comfortable rooms and the whole house was beautiful. Owner Drew and his staff were amazing and could not have been more accommodating. The attention to detail was evident. Drew went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well fed. I highly recommend a stay here!

We stayed at the Gay Street Inn in November and had such a wonderful experience! Our room was spacious and cute, the whole house is totally charming, and breakfast in the back area was a definite highlight! We will stay again!

We stayed at the Gay Street Inn for a weekend while in town for a wedding and it was lovely! The check in was as easy as could be, we were sent a code for the front door and for our room so we could let ourselves in. We ran into the housekeeper when we got there and she was very welcoming. We had the Bradam's Ridge Room and it was quite comfortable. There was excellent light in the bathroom for getting ready to go to the wedding. The shower had TWO showerheads - a regular style and a flat rain style - and great water pressure. We did not have breakfast at the Inn but it smelled amazing as we were heading out! I forgot my pajamas on the bed and Drew (one of the owners) emailed me the next day and shipped them back to me right away. We would absolutely stay here again.

We visited the Gay Street Inn earlier this month for a weekend getaway to the countryside. Our room (the Mountain View room) was charming, well-appointed, and extremely comfortable. Drew was amazing throughout our stay. He helped to arrange Mother's Day flowers and other logistics before our arrival, and he went above and beyond to make sure we had a great visit. We will definitely stay here again!

Our time at Gay Street Inn was our favorite during our overnight stay in Washington, VA. The place is bursting with character, feeling historic while also having modern updates and being incredibly clean. Before your arrival, you will receive an email providing you with instructions about how to enter the Inn and your room (digital codes), which makes arrival and the rest of your stay seamless (no need to keep track of a key as you go about your travels). There is also plenty of street parking available right in front of the Inn.
The grounds are well-maintained and tranquil. Around the garden and lawn, there are pairs of seats set up to allow guests plenty of space to sit and relax while also having a private space. Inside, the library offers cozy seating to unwind or relax in the morning with a cup of coffee.
Our room itself was lovely and comfortable. Upon arrival, it felt cool inside, and we were incredibly impressed by how clean everything was. The bed was firm and supportive, providing a restful night of sleep. The bathroom was clean and stocked with soaps and fluffy towels. The rooms at the Inn put hotel rooms at many large chains to shame.
We opted for the celebration package with came with a bottle of champagne, chocolates, welcome drinks, and breakfast in the morning. The wine was very good, and it was a great way to unwind after a long day exploring the area. One of our highlights was actually breakfast. We anticipated there being a couple of baked good options available, but instead, we were presented a full meal. Drew's homemade granola was a great way to start the day, and the local quiche was very representative of Drew and Deb's familiarity with the area and desire to support local businesses. We had a great conversation with Drew who told us about several locations we might be interested in exploring during our remaining time in the area or for a future visit. We took his advice and stuck in the region for a few extra hours before making our way home, and all of his recommendations were spot on. If you're in need of local recommendations, I highly recommend asking - they are more than happy to help you make the most of your time in the area!

Drew is the epitome of what a B&B host should be and makes a stay at The Gay Street Inn very memorable. Rooms are spotless and well-appointed. Breakfast was off-the-charts great! Everything was done to make our stay "a cut above". We stayed for one night but plan to make a two-night trip in the future to take advantage of the Shenandoah National Park. If you're planning to dine at the Inn at Little Washington, you'll be so pleased with your decision to stay at The Gay Street Inn! HIGHLY recommend!!!!

My wife and I had a lovely stay here while traveling for our fifth wedding anniversary. Well-appointed rooms at reasonable rates, a delicious breakfast, charming and friendly hosts, walking distance to the Inn at Little Washington if you're dining there, and a quick drive to Shenandoah National Park for some hiking in the area. What more could you want?

We are leaving the Inn now after a one night stay. We had an amazing time and I will definitely be back. The atmosphere of the Inn, especially this time of year, was cozy and welcoming. Our gracious hosts were amazing and definitely made sure we had a great stay. We enjoyed breakfast this morning in the sun room and had great conversations with Drew. I can’t say enough about this place other than you definitely need to stay here if you’re visiting the Washington area.

Wonderful quiet B&B! The Blue room was comfortable and quiet. Everything was perfect in the room with modern amenities. The location in town is perfect to walk the town but on. Quiet end that guarantees deep sleep.

My wife and I stayed at the Gray Street Inn for our 10 year anniversary. We had a wonderful stay and Drew took really good care of us. The room was charming and the quality of the upgrades for a B&B were really fantastic. If you are going to Little Washington then I highly recommend staying here.

My husband and I had the most wonderful stay at this modern, but also quaint (it pulled off both!) Inn as we journeyed to Washington, VA to have dinner at the Little Inn at Washington. Just two blocks away from the restaurant it was the perfect private spot to stay overnight. The room was incredibly clean, the owners absolutely so nice, and the breakfast the next morning was delicious. The granola was to-die-for! We will absolutely stay again next visit.

Dinner at The Inn at Little Washington is worth every penny. But where to stay in this tiny town is a daunting question. If you can't afford dinner + a room at The Inn, The Gay Street Inn, just a two minute walk from the restaurant, is about as perfect as they come. The room was excellent, the breakfast the next day was outstanding, and the owners couldn't be nicer people. We'll be recommending this b&b to any friends who make the journey out to Little Washington.

First class hosts, amazing breakfast, and super cozy room… couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Quite honestly, the top notch hospitality, and genuine warmth at the Gay Street Inn knocked our socks off and will be the reason why my husband and I return to Washington, VA (over dinner at the Inn at Little Washington)—we’re looking forward to our next trip back!

Our stay at the Gay Street Inn was spectacular. The check-in process was smooth, and it was lovely to be welcomed with a stocked fridge and drink of our choice! The room was a nice size, clean, and comfortable bedding/towels. The breakfast was next day was great too. No complaints here! Just a short walk to the Inn at Little Wash if you're planning to eat there. Would stay here again.

Such a nice getaway and so easy to enjoy strolling to/from our dinner as well as poking around the shops the next day. The room was quiet and beautiful, the bathroom Reno was well done, and the cocktails and breakfast were superb. Drew and Deb made us feel welcome and relaxed!

We've been to the Gay Street Inn multiple times, and enjoyed our stay every time. The beds and pillows are some of the most comfortable we've ever slept on, and the inn keeper's hospitality can't be beat. The Gay Street Inn has quickly become our preferred place to stay when in the Shenandoah area -- highly recommend!

We had a fantastic two-night stay at the Gay St. Inn. Our hosts could not have been more attentive and kind – including helping us with a last-minute dinner reservation at a nearby restaurant and cooking up some delicious breakfasts (frittata, quiche + coffee and fruit). The Inn also offers a sumptuous welcome cocktail. The Gay St. Inn is just a couple of blocks from the Inn at Little Washington and a short, easy drive to other wonderful restaurants (including Blue Rock – a meal for the ages - and the equally great Blue Door). Very peaceful setting. You can stay for one or two nights and feel like you have been away for a week. Love this place.

Our stay at Gay Street Inn was absolutely perfect. Drew and Deb were welcoming and warm, while giving us plenty of space to do our own thing and relax. The custom welcome drink was such a nice touch, and the breakfast totally exceeded my expectations. The location of the Inn is perfect -- tucked away and quiet, but within quick walking distance to everything in town. This was the perfect weekend getaway from DC and I can't wait to go back!

This place is wonderful. My partner and I enjoyed the Blue Room - so well decorated and comfortable! There were craft cocktails in our fridge when we arrived, a calm, comfortable stay ahead of us, and amazing homemade granola and egg soufflés when we woke up. Drew was the definition of hospitality. Thank you!

We were looking for a relaxing, relatively COVID-safe way to celebrate our anniversary this year. We loved our experience at the Gay Street Inn last year so we decided to give it another go.

Everything was great! We slept in the Blue Room this time, and it was lovely. We were greeted with a nice cocktail in our room - we recommend the Garden Gone. The new precautions also didn't impede we on the experience, and there were great outdoor activities (hiking, Rap Cellars wine tasting, drinks at Copper Fox distillery, outdoor dining at Blue Door) to keep us occupied and happy. Thanks Drew and Deb again for the hospitality... and the whiskey recommendations!
