Far exceeded my expectations!

The service was impeccable! Raymond, our server, was exemplary and significantly contributed to our enjoyment of our experience with his attentiveness. When we couldn’t decide between two desserts, Raymond immediately brought us both to look at! And he never let my ice tea get more than 1/4 empty!

The food was easily one of the best of our trip to our surprise and delight. The warm popover is a unique and fun way to start our meal. The scallops were the most delicious of our trip (including San Francisco and Hawaii).

The restaurant and view is a lovely haven and we look forward to our return!

Getting to the restaurant was a little bit of a process but the hostess was incredible. She met us in the mall and showed us the way since the regular entrance was now closed. To start the special bread they make in house is out of this world it’s like a croissant and french toast had a baby and they give you a strawberry topping to go with it. We ordered the lemon pepper shrimp as a starter and it was delicious. The shrimp were large, and the sauce was incredible. I ordered the salmon and it came with risotto, I savored every bite! My friend ordered the Kobe Steak - it was not bad but the salmon was definitely better. I would definitely come back again.

The food is delicious and well prepared, the ambience is casual yet upscale in terms of quality of service. The server was friendly and quick to get us settled at your table with popovers accompanied by strawberry butter which tasted delicious. The food came in at the right temperature and tasted delicious. The dessert had real eatable flowers which was a nice touch. Overall great value! Love it!

A wonderful place to dine in. Like a secret place in Neiman Marcus. You can enjoy Friday fireworks from here. The steaks are very good 👍🏼,no matter we’ll-done or medium well.

Had the Thursday special for lunch, the smoked brisket sandwich -- absolutely delicious. Really nice view of Ala Moana Park as well, with plenty of ventilation. Not cheap, but sometimes ya gotta splurge and enjoy life!

UPDATE: 2 years later, visited Honolulu again and came back here. Still just as good! I got the pulled pork sandwich, which was fantastic (along with the crudites salad and a side of truffle fries). Service was fantastic, and the view is as beautiful as ever.

A great casual, slightly upscale place to have a lunch with family and friends. The servers are quick to get you settled at your table with popovers accompanied by strawberry butter and a petite cup of chicken broth to sip. We sat outside to enjoy the sunshine and blue skies with our meals of Roasted Duck, Chicken Parmesan, and a Mango Pulled Pork Sandwich with French Fries with furikake seasoning. Our meals were delicious!

Good to dine in earlier today. Nice view. Great Food. The best is the service!! Our server added so much value on this meal. Free chicken soup. Popover breads. They even ask if we want to take home some!! 👍👍👍👍👍 he should be the Employee of the Month!!

Beautiful restaurant on the third floor of Nieman Marcus Ala Moana mall overlooking Ala Moana beach park. Excellent service and food. Great hamachi appetizer, excellent shrimp pasta, and a very good cheeseburger! I also enjoyed the mariposa punch. Live music! Great for sunset dinners!

I loved Mariposa so much, the service and the food was all so amazing. Especially the airy bread with butter and the braised duck!!

Great server and of course the food is always top notch.
Love getting the pop overs with strawberry butter and chicken consome. I always order the lobster club and hurricane fries. I have to split the meal because it's so big to eat by myself.
They cut the sandwich differently than they used to. They used to have it look like a turkey club.
And loved how my server brought ice cream with a candle. Mahalos for another great meal and with a gorgeous view! Always aloha!

I visited this restaurant with my friends and family last week for the Sunset Lounge, and I had a wonderful experience. The food was quick and delicious, especially the popovers which were just as great as ever. Although the drinks were mediocre, the service provided by our server Hannah was phenomenal. She was witty, quick, and made some great recommendations, convincing us to try their desserts and sip another drink each while waiting for the sunset view. And let me tell you, it was absolutely breathtaking! The view from the restaurant is spectacular and my photos don't do it justice. I highly recommend this place and our server to anyone looking for a great dining experience.

My boyfriend arranged with the manager, a surprise marriage proposal event that Mariposa beautifully orchestrated. The manager was so gracious and genuinely happy to execute the details. Thank you for making it about us and not you. It's rare to see true service and hospitality lately. We will treasure this restaurant as one of our top favorites!

The world food tour continued at Mariposa … we took in the Monet Exhibition at the Convention Center, then went for an early dinner. They’re still closing early (8pm) and operating with the Sunset menu, which is really the lunch menu.

Interestingly, they offer a couple of wines at ridiculously good prices. We opted for the 2020 Belle Glos Balade for $37. This sells for more in the store so how could we pass this up? Being young, it needed time to open up but I sensed blackberry and plum and funny as it may sound, a taste of Coke. As the evening progressed, so did the wine.

We ordered the Arancini, Asian Fried Chicken, Seared Yellow Fin Tuna and the Ribeye Steak Tare. The arancini was supposed to contain unagi but all I sensed was whole grain mustard aioli (it was supposed to be nori aioli). This was the least successful dish for me. The Asian Fried Chicken was a treat … boneless, battered chicken in a shoyu / sake sauce. The seared Yellow Fin Tuna was the star … a yuzu sauce with a hint of jalepeno, edamame and cut beans perfectly offset the seared fish. The ribeye was served with deep fried yellow potato wedges. It was supposed to come with umami butter but it appeared to be the same sauce served with the fried chicken. The beef was tender and flavorful; the potatoes were crisp and waxy (in a good way).

Dessert were an Affogato and two espresso (so three in all) and the chocolate macadamia nut tart. The richness of the ice cream and the espressos (I used all three atop the ice cream) made it a sublime experience. The tart? I had one bite and it was luscious and rich.

It was a beautiful evening; the food and wine were excellent; the service very good. All in all, an excellent experience at a surprisingly modest cost. Highly recommended, even with the limited menu.

Delicious fresh ahi tuna salad and lobster sandwich. Complimentary popover plus strawberry butter and chicken soup was amazing too. Lots of sunlight and good ambiance. Caring server helped serve split dishes for ease of sharing. Recommend.

Great service, delicious food, lovely view from our table on the lanai. One itty bitty criticism; the popovers were great, but undercooked (raw dough inside).

I had the Lobster Club. Bacon, butter lettuce, avocado and massive chunks of fresh lobster. Mixed with a mayonnaise tyke sauce. It can with a cute tiny salad with a light creamy dressing. I sat at the bar, the service was great. I would go back again.

What a great start to the weekend! We were at the Ala Moana center on friday evening and the same question came up...where to eat. Didn't feel like food court and we felt like getting something special to kick off a friday and weekend. We perused the Mariposa menu via yelp and on my phone which looked enticing. I called and made reservations with the hostess for a 5pm seating. When we arrived, the entire place was empty and they asked us to wait while they got ready for dinner service. We were seated the second row from the balcony overlooking a spectacular view of Ala Moana park and the pacific ocean.
Our server presented himself and promptly got us served our drinks and their famous monkey bread which I had about 3 pieces with their whipped butter. It was sheer delightful as I enjoyed the warm pull apart and soft buttery bread as an appetizer! We ordered the prime rib loco moco which is served over garlic rice and a starter of corn chowder. The chowder is very rich and flavorful but they serve it with some sprinkling of popcorn over it which I did not care for. One of the main attractions at this Mariposa is the view from the balcony and as the sun started to set during our meal, they raised the shade to unveil a beautiful orange colored sky which appeared to be on fire. All of the camera phones came out and it was picture time for all of the diners.
Our main entrees arrived and the loco moco looked spectacular. It came with a side serving of the au jus and the eggs cooked to your preference. I very rarely eat beef but this was a special treat for me and it was tender, portions were very sufficient and I totally enjoyed my dinner entree. The manager (I cannot recall his name) visited all of the tables himself to ensure service and food were up to par. He even stopped by twice which I love to see in a restaurant as this shows that they genuinely care about service. We were very satisfied and full after the entree but who can pass up dessert right? NOT Me! We ordered the "Old Pali Road" dessert and I can totally recommend this. It is a chocolate mousse sitting on top of a oatmeal cookie crust and topped with a marshmellow infusion. This was a real treat!
The entire dinner service and food was excellent and a wonderful start to a friday evening and weekend. Thanks Mariposa, we will be back!!

I had the pleasure of dining at Mariposa at the Neiman Marcus Hawaii, and it was an unforgettable experience. The memories of this visit are truly special, thanks in no small part to the outstanding service provided by Yoon and Kabaya. From the moment I stepped in, the combination of great food, friendly staff, and breathtaking ocean views set the stage for a memorable evening.

The Lobster Sandwich, a timeless signature menu item, was a true delight. Its consistent quality is a testament to the excellence of Mariposa's offerings. The Pork Chop, with its Kiwabe grilled flavor, left a lasting impression on everyone at our table.

The Crabmeat Salad was a refreshing choice, featuring fresh lettuce topped with delicious crabmeat and succulent shrimp – a perfect option for a summer meal. However, the standout dish for me was the Scallops. These juicy and tender scallops, served with a creamy sauce and topped with Ikura, have earned a well-deserved spot as my new favorite.

I also had the opportunity to savor the new chef's special, courtesy of my friend. It was a delightful addition to the menu and quickly became a favorite among our group.

Beyond the incredible cuisine, the atmosphere at Mariposa was welcoming and relaxing. It's a place where good people gather, and the ocean views, especially as August came to a close, were nothing short of spectacular.

I must commend Tom and Kabaya for their exceptional service, which truly enhanced our dining experience. Their professionalism and attentiveness made our mealtime a pleasant and memorable occasion.

In summary, Mariposa at the Neiman Marcus Hawaii offers a dining experience that combines delicious food, friendly service, and stunning views to leave a lasting impression.
