$47 a day and 5 days rented for the Green Kia Soul! Very clean inside. Great customer service! Car was great! Great A/C. Great car for parking in small stalls. Very fast and easy car. Best affordable cars! I recommend for locals Kamaaina especially from interislands, hospital visits, military moving, traveling nurses. Only credit cards accepted. No debit cards. Must fill up car full gas tank when returning.

We ordered for two days, but then changed our mind and decided to extend it for two more days. I called and asked to renew, the manager said no problem, you do not need to go to the office to make an additional payment, you can pay when you return the car. It is very convenient and time-saving. Richard (manager) is a very friendly and sociable person, thank you very much for his service. I recommend this company to everyone !! Fast, convenient !!! And compared to other companies, the price is very attractive. Before that, I contacted the Dollar company: I did not like it. The staff was rude, they demanded a deposit from me, although when ordering, there was no information about the deposit. They demanded that I buy exactly their insurance, while I had already bought insurance on Expedia and plus I have my own insurance with full coverage. But they didn’t care. Plus the car was not the one we wanted to rent. In the end, I had to refuse. Thank you very much for the cool Chip Rent A Car service. You are best!!!

We come to Oahu two or three times a year and for the past 12 years we have rented from here. What a gem, far better rates than his competitors, and though you won't get a brand new vehicle, you do get one that is completely exceptable. Owner is great and has always accommodated our needs. Would give 10 stars if I could!

The lowest car rental rates we found in Honolulu! The staff was so friendly and laid back. Pick up and drop off was easy and even though we rented for only one day they told us we could drop off the next morning if we needed to. Very kind, courteous, and great prices - would definitely rent from them again!

These guys were awesome! We booked our car about 2 months in advance because we knew how crazy car rentals have gotten since Covid. They were efficient on the phone and every time we had questions we could call in and get quick answers. Our flight got changed a few times over the last couple months but they were very understanding and when I called a day before to tell them we would be coming a little earlier than we had said they were totally fine with it. When we picked up the car they were very fast and gave us a nice spacious Hyundai as an economy car.

My car was having some engine issues. While in repair, I really needed a rental for a week or so. I called my usual national chain vendor. I was shocked at the price quoted. I googled and found Cheap Rent A Car - which was conveniently located just 2 blocks from my work place. I called and spoke to the owner, Richard on a weekend, and was pleasantly surprised by the rate he quoted me -- along with consideration for local residency. Went in Monday am. Within 10 minutes I was driving off in my KIA. Although it was a 2010 model, it was clean and ran very well. I actually extended my rental to 2 weeks. Just returned it this morning, feeling a little sad to part with my new found friend. I was of there in 5 minutes. Richard, thank you a ton for your great service, friendliness and helpfulness. Rented a car from Richard, he was very helpful and made renting a car easy and super fast. A lot of the other places we called either couldn’t guarantee they’d have a car for us or their prices were outrageous. Came across cheap rent a car and I’m so glad we did. Thank you so much Richard, you made our vacation so much better!

Our experience with cheap rent a car was exceptional- I mean for same day service in a very highly priced time, no corporate car rental vehicles available at all! Economy's were like $150/day we needed a car for 5 days, I did email the owner he replied right away- ready to reserve a vehicle for 400$ something 5 days! Aye I wish we did reserve it- we said nah well wait - we'll from experience DO NOT WAIT!! Try call!we got a full size for 640$ for 4nights and 5 days so 149$ a day -versus 1 year ago 35$-40$ 1 day!!! Don't even get me started on the rooms....- oh and there's NO kamaaina....tourist amd kamaaina is the same.....

I rented a mini van from Cheap Rent A Car and I was highly impressed. With a name like cheap rent a car, you are a little concerned. Boy was I wrong, I got great service, great price, and the van was great. This is a smaller outfit, so the service is not as fast, but worth the price savings. I recommend renting from them.

I was in Honolulu for vacation, I’d also like to add that I’m young (adding this for pricing). Overall, best car rental place I could have gone to. I went the people were extremely helpful didn’t try to sell me things I did not need. They truly care about the customer. Additionally, I called multiple other areas this was one of the most affordable if not the most affordable. Car had a small ding but I didn’t care. I went to explore the beautiful island and that’s what I did. Car took me everywhere and it was very reliable.

I liked this place and I will tell you why:

Great prices. Got a compact car for $35/day (twas a dodge dart). That's like twice cheaper than all other places and more than twice if you compare with Waikiki rentals.

Car was clean, well maintained, 4 wheels, running engine... What else you need?!

No problems with returning.

2 things to be aware of:
• the location doesn't look very good, so be prepared for that.
• when picking up the car, you might have to wait about up to 15-30 mins. There's only one guy running the office, so keep that in mind as well.

Overall, if I need a car again, I'd come back

My girlfriend and I visited the island with no reservation and he sat us down and let us rent a car with a reasonable price and got us out in the road in like 10-15 minutes!

Cheap Rent A Car made booking a rental car super easy! The staff were friendly and helpful too. When a lot of people show up at once you might have to wait 10 to 20 minutes because there is only guy working (that I saw). Return is very simple and easy too.

Not luxury, but the BEST PRICING around no doubt! They were flexible with us and very accommodating. The car has check engine light on and squeaks a lot etc, but they run just fine. If I ever come back I will return here!!

These guys were great. The car was nice, clean and more than I expected for the price. I will totally go back to them the next time we're in town! Friendly & accommodating staff and I prefer to use local companies when I travel, these guys made it easy to do.

Affordable but high-professional! I used to rent a car with big chain companies with big money every time I visited Honolulu only because I didn't know there was such a nice place!!! This place has variety kinds of nice cars you can choose, and the owner is a long experienced and friendly guy. I regret that I wasted my money to big chain companies before due to my ignorance.

Amazing/ best rent a car by far in Honolulu, richard the owner is super cool. They are always booked up so if you need a car while in town or you know for sure you'll need one of your traveling to Oahu call ASAP and book your car. Locals use this place to rent cars, ie: no tourist rip off tax. I know the right thing to do is leave a review because they rock, however it's a bittersweet thing for me to do because I always want to be able to get a car when needed and they not even be more booked however the world deserves to know and they deserve the business.
