Gilchrist Park

Nice park. No coffee options here far as I could see. I think there might be a vending machine a little to the southwest of here along the shoreline near the boat launch for soft drinks? There are bathrooms here at this park. The old abandoned hotel is slightly to the North East of here and the sidewalk is closed off. The one steps to the Gazebo are apparently damaged at that time of this writing and roped off for future repair. The place is not really handicap accessible, but kind of is depending upon where you go in the park. The view here is great. It looks like the paradise that it is. The sidewalk that skirts the shoreline gives you a taste of fresh clean air. It certainly show cases paradise. There is not an accessible beach here. It is a retaining wall next to the sidewalk. They have a tennis court here and quite a few sidewalks so you can ride a bike here. Park is open 24 hrs. No way to lock it and not gated.

We loved this park today with its beautiful riverfront view of the Peace River in Punta Gorda. The park was full of visitors attending the annual Hibiscus Festival. Many vendors were set up around the park selling potted plants, including hibiscus of many colors. A stage was set up with live music as we browsed the vendor setups around the park. We would like to return to the park during a time with no events just to enjoy the shade and riverfront views. It looks like a nice place to reduce stress and relax.

Great place to walk and enjoy the waterside views. A nice dock to walk out on. Fantastic place to watch the sunset. There are benches and grassy areas to sit. Ponce de Leon statue and memorial located here. Parking is limited, but I found a few available spaces. Dog friendly.

Beautiful park, and very nice folks there. Really enjoyed taking my one year old son there. We saw dolphins at sunset!! That was a nice surprise!

Loved it here. Found it on a Sunday morning just cruising around the area looking for something to do. Walked all the way over from the park to Fisherman's village so they're not far from each other. Very nice area. Worth a look.

Great park for walking and watching sunsets. Dog friendly and has a playground for the kids. Bathrooms were pretty clean too.

Great clean park! Nice walk along the water. Seen a couple of dolphins swimming during our walk. Our favorite part was stopping to watch pickle ball, ask a couple about the game, they answered our questions. About 5 minutes later they stopped to take a water break and asked if we wanted to play while they took their break. We played for about 10 minutes, it quite fun. Now we are going to order pickle ball equipment.

Great place to enjoy a nice relaxing walk. Near fisherman's Village and other attractions. And sunsets are a must see from the pier.

Absolutely beautiful park! Places to sit and have a picnic or watch the sunset. It's also dog friendly which is amazing. Loved walking here.

Just the cutest little park! Right by the water and there is even a pier and plenty of benches to sit and some are shaded as well. There is a big playground area for the kids. And tennis courts. Also there are plenty of CLEAN restrooms. It’s always a pleasure to come here and enjoy a morning cup of coffee or walk around. I see plenty of people with their dogs and it just brightens up your day. Parking space I would say is decent. A great spot to come out and get some

I nice place to spend the evening! The park is kept clean and provides beautiful views of Port Charlotte. The park consists of a nice promenade along the water and several walking trails. It also has several gazebos and public restrooms, as well as a tennis court. Plus, the sunsets are stunning almost every night!

Great little park in a beautiful area. Swings, slides, all the essentials. It's nice that the play area is fenced in. It definitely adds some peace of mind. We also got lucky and a dolphin gave us a little show out in the bay.

Most beautiful park I've been to in the area! I love that there isn't mulch, it's the safe non slip rubber style ground covering. We attended a birthday party and it was perfect! Restrooms are very clean, plenty of seating as there's multiple picnic tables (even ones with baby seats built in and different levels of benchs for children) lots of shade, plenty of parking, nice basketball & tennis area that's fenced in separate from the playgrounds and a gorgeous views of the bay!! Not to mention the amazing huge tree in the middle of the park is great for photos!!!

Super gorgeous park the water was a stunning view. Very well maintained. Multiple events take place here especially on the weekends. Went for a walk during a morning sunrise and caught an amazing view of a full moon! 💜 Great place to sit,read, meditate ground yourself whatever the occasion highly recommend a visit.

Gilchrist Park is a wonderful park. Full of people that are friendly. Dog friendly. Convenient free poopy bag dispensers. Right on the water and absolute place to watch the sunset!

There is even a little sandy beach so if you come by kayak you can pull in.

It's an excellent place to start your walk on the HarborWalk that goes for miles. You can go left or right to get different experiences.
