Don Quixote Mexican Grill

We were in town for Rugged Maniac at Virginia Motorsports Raceway down the street about 6 miles. After the race we were starving and we’re headed to a burger joint to try out, but after getting there being immediately turned off, we drove down the street and saw this gem on the side of the road and decided to pull in. HANDS-DOWN, some of the best Mexican food we’ve ever had! The portions were amazing, and the prices were great. We had a wonderful conversation with the very friendly manager, who ended up teaching us some Spanish while waiting for our food - the other staff, including the young men were extremely helpful and friendly. The restaurant was very clean, and very decorative, you can tell they spent some good money on its appearance. Just an all-around excellent experience and excellent food, recommend highly if you live in the area or visiting for a race to stop by here and get some delicious food!

This was the first time I had been to this establishment because me and my wife were looking for something different to eat so I decided to stop here and try them. First thing I noticed is how clean the place was and that is a big plus for me and they did not disappoint me. The food was delicious hot fresh the waiter was friendly and though they had to switch to someone who could understand what I was saying it was still very cordial and it was a lot of food so to the point I had to get trays to take it home. Soooo if you are looking for something different that is the go to because they have authentic Mexican food and trust me we will be back 😃

Had the Fajitas Texano and it was perfect. All of the proteins were cooked well and the cheese sauce wasn't bitter. The staff is super friendly and really gave that family vibe. I didn't have a drink but someone else in the restaurant did and they said it was good. Will definitely be back again and again.

Finally! I found a spot that had great refried beans and rice! Okay, so that's just the side show to a great plate, right? We all know its about the tacos, lol! Choice was Tacos Don Quixote (beef) and yeah, they were great. Im all about the corn tortilla street taco. The salsa reminds me of a Dallas style consistency and flavors with just the right lime juice kick, no salt needed, it was on point. It was so good, I ordered my family some plates to go: the husband loved his Burrito Del Mar(seafood) and my son said his Quesadilla Rellena was good. The service was fabulous and the atmosphere is classic Americano-Mexican style. I like that the tables moved in the booths so those with fluffy attributes can be comfortable, and those who need the plate under their mouth can be accomodated, saving shirts from the pre-stain treatment! Its a win!

When you walk in, you get a sense of warmth. The menus are really creative! The service was great and the food ( I think I over stuffed myself) is so delicious. I really do like the rice.

This is a great spot to visit if you're really hungry or want some refreshing margaritas or cervezas. The appetizers were delicious -- especially the nacho fries. The entrees were super tasty and the portions were generous. I'll definitely be back.

I like this place offers discount meals with you drinks, that only happens in other countries in Europe not In the U.S.A! go to Don Quixote Mexican Grill! You'll love it!

I travel a lot for a living. And i'd have to say I've been all up-and-down of the state of Virginia and this is the only Mexican restaurant that I found that has good food. 👍 Steak Fajitas!!! 😋

Was very busy, yet service was timely. Nice atmosphere and comfortable seating. Food was very good and enjoyed the beer as well. Will be back for sure.

I usually get quesadilla dishes, and it's excellent . I recently ordered the three tacos that come with chorizo and sides. Wow, fantastic! Highly recommend this place.

My boyfriend said we were eating Mexican but not where I normally drag him. And we end up here. I'm skeptical but when we walked in, I was surprised. I was expecting same old boring Mexican restaurant decor. The bar was nice, the bar stools looked handmade (I could be wrong). Anyhow, as usual prompt chips and salsa. We ordered our drinks, they came quickly. The margarita Quixote seems a little strong (yes!!) Anyhow, it took a little longer to decide because this menu is not filled with an excessive amount of options. It has just the right amount of options to not change your mind 10 times. There is a section for beef, chicken, seafood, and vegetarian. It's just a different kind of menu. Anyhow, the food was fantastic. I had tacos de asada. It came with salsa, Pico de Gallo, and this smoky, creamy avocado. The sides were rice and beans. It was very good. The food was fast. No complaints. I think this will definitely be our new spot for Mexican.

I'm picky and my wife has been a server for over 20 years and knows the ins and outs of restaurants. What started as one visit has turned that place into our every other week dinner plans. The owners and everyone that works there is exceptional. The food? I haven't tried everything on the menu but everything that I have tried on the menu is top notch delicious. Oh and by the way I don't do reviews but that's how good this place is when it popped up on my phone I just had to take the time and do this. I hope if anyone reads this and tries this restaurant I truly hope your experiences is wonderful as ours is every time we go there.
