Some may feel otherwise, but I love these attractions. Especially when reasonably priced like this one. Places like this make you feel like you're walking back in time. You can almost feel the energy of those left behind. The tour operator was very knowledgeable, and everyone else was very pleasant. I also love that it's not one of those tours that forces you to keep it moving. While they do move you along, you have plenty of time to look and explore.

We went during a holiday week, so parking was a challenge. Other than that, we loved it!

My husband and I went on a Saturday afternoon. We had the most enjoyable tour, our tour guide was Dapper Deputy, he was very informative yet funny & personable. It was fascinating to see what prisoners endured back then and how small most crimes were compared to today. I highly recommend this for an enjoyable afternoon!

I HIGHLY recommend this tour! When going over the museum and attractions options for our trip, this one really struck my interest. I'm so glad we visited. Lottie was an incredible tour guide, and super entertaining. We learned a lot, saw a lot, and heard a lot of stories. What an interesting place. Can't wait to come back! Do yourself a favor and don't Google what the big birdcage was for 🤫

We had so much fun learning and seeing the history of this old jail. Our guide, Benny, was great. He was informative and funny.

The main fact that stood out to me was that it closed in 1953 without ever having running water. It also has the first finger printing kit in the state of Florida.

It’s 16.99 a person, and it’s slightly kid friendly. They do talk about hangings and the gallows (it is an old jail after all). There are graphic images of hangings that took place there, but there is a warning sign before you enter that room. It isn’t a part of the guided tour.

It is not wheel chair accessible. A lot of the areas are tight and the stairs are steep.

The old jail was great. Very informative, too. We went on the haunted night tour. I would highly recommend it. The tour guides REALLY get into their Job, we loved it. I took a picture of the jail tour guide and he looks a little freaky if you ask me. Ken 😎

Our guide was William. He was able to get the group brought together and have fun. He was able to make it a 1 of a kind experience. He was able to keep our attention and even the attention of my 3 year old and 10 year old! Great history in the old jail and love being able to hear about it all! The ticket for the tour guide measure was part of the trolley ride! I do recommend the trolley ride also!

The Old Jail Museum in Saint Augustine is a must-visit for history buffs and those interested in the darker side of the city's past. This former jail, which operated from 1891 to 1953, offers a fascinating glimpse into the harsh conditions faced by prisoners during that era.

The museum provides a well-curated and informative experience, with knowledgeable guides who bring the stories of the jail's prisoners and staff to life. You'll get to explore the various cells and learn about the crimes committed by the inmates, as well as the methods of punishment employed.

One of the highlights of the museum is the opportunity to step inside the maximum-security cell, known as the "Green Room," where dangerous prisoners were confined. It's a chilling experience that offers a stark contrast to the lively streets of Saint Augustine.

In addition to the historical aspect, the Old Jail Museum also offers interactive exhibits, which make it an engaging experience for visitors of all ages. You can try on prisoner uniforms, take photos in the convict photo area, and even participate in a mock trial.

Overall, a visit to the Old Jail Museum is a unique and educational experience that provides a deeper understanding of Saint Augustine's past. Whether you're a history enthusiast or just looking for something different to do, this museum is well worth a visit.

My partner and I came to visit courtesy of a Florida Attractions Sheet. It was an absolutely amazing tour! Definitely worth it when its free, but I'd absolutely pay money for it also. Our tour guide was Patrick, and you could tell he was intentional and passionate about his job. He was very detail-oriented, and really engaged his guests. My partner and I came in as normal people and left as 'snitch' and 'mermaid'. I also enjoyed how informational the tours are, you actually get to learn about history while still having it be upbeat and engaging. Patrick later on walked us through a bit of the museum in the gift shop, and we really appreciated how thoughtful he was. I'm also a tour guide, and his energy was really inspiring, I'll definitely be taking a couple of notes from him. The tour guides here make the experience, and that's incredible. Overall, we had a wonderful time, thank you so so much!!
