Operation PAR Inc

This is tough to review. This PAR location has it's positive and very negative aspects. One thing I will say that is an awesome accomodation for recovering mothers- this is one of the very few programs/treatment centers who actually allow and encourage mothers with children to live together, in treatment. I know first hand, I was part of a group for NA members who went in the hold women's meetings with women in the regular and village residents. The village (where mothers and children are located) is actually very nice and a safe and non-institutional type of inpatient accommodations. They are also basically the only facility in Pinellas County that also take Medicaid. And while they do offer several types of treatment programs and avenues for getting and staying clean- there is also the negatives.
The biggest: they push and are very adamant about getting patients on methadone. And if MAT (medication assisted treatment) is what a person wants or needs- great. But for those trying to be free from all substances, this is hardly affective. On top of the fact, methadone is so easy to abuse. Also, I have dealt with conselers, employees and therapists that are so negative, demeaning and unprofessional. Getting and staying clean takes an atmosphere of kindness, compassion and understanding-these people seem like they care more about the paycheck, not patients. So while it is a good option for mothers getting sober and clean, as well as the fact, they make it easier for Medicaid recipients and those with no insurance, to get treatment-the relapse rate is high. If you have the resources and options- consider all your options elsewhere, too.

It cost to much

When we drove our daughter to Par , we finally had peace in our hearts feeling we made the right decision , starting off at Par in North Fort Myers who just keeps upping the dose while there using , charging etc..the counselor I spoke with had no idea of the history of our daughter , or her trauma or current situation , I've been a social worker/ director for D/A and MH intensive 25 years plus up north , finally we get the referral for her to go , ( Covid has made it hard to run facilities as they normally would) the whole point of going there was to get clean off of everything, intensive therapy for trauma , how to stay clean outside a rehab walls , help cleaning up messes they may have made along the way , a family session , or how about a counselor returning a call after about 5 messages left on voice mail ??? CM 101 , surround your clients with as much services as you can , even free Counseling through other agencies.. we should of been part of her care plan , knowing her diagnosis, she was treated for other stuff , came home still on methadone , bloated horribly , retaining water , breathing heavy while sleeping and on 3 different meds for same thing and knows how to pot plants , clean .. where's her NA book ?? Talk to the families so you can get a better idea of the person your taking care off , not every client has a broken family and some know real recovery ..money making business same as back in the day ! And same now ...you can't always blame the client , when your broken and seeking help ..make sure you talk to someone before going here..if your a opiate abuser please there are other ways then methadone ..
